By far my favorite pixel/rogue-like game. However, losing progress due to cookie deletion is detrimental for continued play. I always forget about this and end up not playing again because starting over after clearing 40+ floors is discouraging... No way to fix???
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Btw why is it possible to lose all your unlocked characters and perks when deleting cookies? what if you buy that alchemist with kreds and losing it while deleted history? that would be really disappointing.

Wizard tip: If you find a spider queen, enslave it cuz it can summon permanent hatchlings! If you kept the 4 hatchlings and spider queen alive from current floor, you can have them all upto the next floor!

For those trying to make it through a level for the first time, Ranger works stupendously. Get a level in the first two dog skills, then archery (poison arrow is nice but takes up an additional slot. AMAZING against Bosses 2 and 3.) Max Archery means a strong ranged attack once every 4 turns. Keep your distance; the dog will be the main attacker. Once you hit Lv5, the Dog does ~2-4 up to 4-12 damage a blow. Shadow Walk and Blink are the best abilities you can get, other magics do help of course. I recommend either Sniper, Faithful Friend or Hellhound. Sniper is Bow boost (also good for forested areas), Faithful friend is just a nice boon, nothing much though (good if you are still learning the mechanics/can't afford Hellhound/Sniper) and Hellhound is great if you want the puppy to take out 20% of Asterion's health. Runner is amazing, speed and stealth boost help you snipe foes without them detecting you. Ranger is about patience and keeping your distance. Do this and you will win.

And after combining it with an experience scroll I got a potion of carapace, that replaces your armor with carapace armor.

Oookaayyy... quick bit of advice that I wish I knew beforehand. If you equip "Restless Blade", you're going to end up accidentally attacking the scavenger, and he can be pretty tough. So, yeah...

after 39 tries i achieved the impossible badge with the ranger(129.322), OMG such an awesome game, well done developers <3

This game is awesome BUT it needs a save export function or kong save. Just lost all my progress (lucky that I didnt play too long) and it had nothign to do with cache cleaning and so on.

Brilliant mechanics; the world is incredibly vivid, sound effects and music make it feel alive, and the difficulty makes actually winning feel worth it. At the same time, the turn-based style keeps the game both intense yet calm like a game of chess with unlimited time for each turn. Really well done, props to the devs.

I really Like this dungeon crawler, Like ALOT but I dont like how once you hit suicide its more about rng then skill. This may just be because I'm bad but honestly one of my favorite flash games

THIS IS THE BEST ROUGE-LIKE EVER!!! I've been playing it for 1.5 years now and its still fun to play whenever I come back. 5/5 kind of hoping for an update soon though... Been waiting a year for one.

The game is very good, but i cant understand the mechanics ... When i play mage, i kill every shieldman with 1 fireball, no resists, no nothing. But then 1 shieldman appear and i cant hit him with 20 fireballs ... resist non stop !!! They have 10% M. Res. ... am i that unlucky?

I was wondering about the Elemental Pact. Do the spawned elementals stay with you forever, or do they disappear after?

Fantastic game. Tip with the 120k Impossible badge, follow daniel3160's tips, but your goal should be beating Act 3, suicide speedily. On the boss, you probably won't have to kill every tentacle as their AI is pretty dumb and won't actively hunt you down. Now the Eyeballs and Horrors, you'll definately want to kill. They'll cast mind daze, but you can counter this by simply waiting. Once you reach the boss, try not to engage in melee combat, unless you have a potion of invinciblity or several buffs. Just whittle him down, but make it snappy. He'll cast bleed on you.

Heh. It's possible to Blink randomly into a boss's room without getting the keys. Kinda saved a bit of time with that, plus I was lucky enough to have to deal with only one of his summons thanks to our positioning.

Just gotten the 120k Impossible badge. Here's a few tips; Act 3, Suicide, Ranger with Sniper perk (other perk doesn't really matter). Try and level up in each of the first 3 areas, max out archery first of all. Always get your dog to attack, stay out of melee. Put rest of your points into dog attack and health (alternate every level up). In the academy room with the portal, you can stay at the bottom and pick off enemies one by one, you'll earn a few more points and it's easier than trying to run through them all. The two areas before the boss are probably the hardest. Your main goal is to find the stairs and get to the boss asap. On the boss, take your time and kill tentacles and other enemies for as long as possible.

I might be the minority here, but I actually find this game better NOT to be drawn in pixels. The pixel art reminds me of the roguelike games almost 20 years ago, but imo this is genre where things (the skill icons, characters, map) are better shown clearly. The gameplay is a 5/5 but because of the inappropriate art style I will give it a 3/5.

Everything in this game is just so well put together and calculated for fun. I've lost track of how much time I've put into it, but I just noticed that the "Glide" spell even makes it where you don't hear your character's footsteps. Seriously, the developer worked pretty hard on getting all of the details correct, and I feel like this is the sort of game that 5-star ratings were invented for.

3-1 is incredibly annoying, feels like I have to roll 5+ times on suicide to get anything but mage and ranger through. There are like a million ways to deal with the archers but no way to acquire any of them, so it feels like I just have to try over and over to get lucky on the archer spawn locations.

It's sad that the dev seems to have given up on this game - he hasn't updated or said anything at all, really, in the past year. I do hope he comes back eventually, but I don't know if he will.
This was (And still is) a fantastic game. I'll miss the dev.

First time I've made a comment in a while. Here's my Act 1 clear: (https://imgur.com/a/4R4YB.) I did it using Blink, Traditionalist (?), one Sleeping Powder and my original Summoning Scroll. I also died on the same turn as Astarion, which fortunately didn't matter. It took just under 10 minutes and was worth 80,000 points. I just blinked through all the levels and mashed the wait key whenever I found somewhere safe until I hit 19 mana (slightly more efficient). To get the Morale itself I did the unbelievably grindy Tower thing as a Fighter and suicided repeatedly on Act 1. The game also bugged out and gave me the Impossible Badge when I was trying it out with Pacifist Paladin using Heal after I hit negative maximum health and said I got like 650 billion points, so go me I guess. Screenshots attached. Overall, if you want to get a ton of points, pick mechanics forbidden in most instant death RPGs (instant teleport, full EXP summons, 'win condition' combos) that avoid number checkups.

Good game, challenging badges and requires a lot of grinding. Also extreme case of lag while playing this game for a bit of time.

I describe this game as "You must sacrifice something to win" kind of game.

It would be nice a bestiary to be completed by using the spyglass over monsters and getting permanent advantages over them!

this is weird. i cleared an act and died same time. i was in between the red dragon and its miniature. the finish blow is done to the boss and after that, the little one got panic, attacked me to death.

It's been a year and 2 months... Is the game's development going to be continued? Is there going to be a Cardinal Quest 3? I hope so, because I love this game.

star wars references are nice and all but you reallllly shouldn't be calling a twin bladed katana a civilized weapon; them things were real and they were specifically built to cause wounds that would not stitch up right, would get infected, and in the rare case where someone got good enough care not to die of infection and/or septic shock everything would heal up attached in not quite the right spot usually disabling the wounded as a solder or worker for life.
