speed rushing seems to be the best way to get a high score. replaying the level and trying to ignore everything else always ends up giving me a better score in the end

can you try some high tech armors weapons and shoes ? also make it online so you would see other players .like you want that !

Enslave worked on act 2 boss. First try. And charm/enslave on a dragon young and it attacks xiatol. Both achievements that should be added.

I wish we could sell items (and maybe spells, too) in the same way we can sell equipment when we don't want it. Feels like a waste when you have a full inventory of good items and leave half a dozen antivenoms per floor laying around uselessly.

Today, wow this a good run, woah its all so easy today, I'm going to get the impossible badge! A few acts later, why do I have an ankh? Nooo, I accidentally selected Normal!

one thing that upset me about this game - suicide with glide (fly over a hole and make it run out) is not a achievement :( other than that this game is gr8 easily 5/5 :P

for anyone struggling with the impossible badge, there are forums on kong dedicated to helping with it.. Here's the jist.. 1) Use archer, 2) Choose Act 3, on suicide difficulty, 3) Never use your gold, HORDE IT. 4) choose the perks "Sniper" and "runner".. 4) Kill all enemies in the first few stages but don't take too long, and in later stages, avoid taking too much time to hunt down everything, and in the last stage, get as many kills before taking down the boss. Hope this helps, and good luck!

How did I do what? Get 120k points on all characters? Ehm lol thats tough to explain. You gotta play very differently on all characters and you gotta adapt based on what spells/items you get etc. And I actually love rogue class the most lol :D. He's pretty hard to play but he's actually really good. Based on my experiences so far; fighter is the worst and I think pugilist might be the strongest but I'm really not sure. It depends what act you play. I think on act 3 Paladin is likely the strongest. I would need to play more to figure out who the strongest is. If your going for the impossible badge I would suggest the ranger because hes the easiest and also maybe the best character.

Hmmm, so when I'm playing 1rst act Wisp Wizad on Suicide, it seems that monsters are straight out swarming me from distances from which they've couldn't possibly me.
Particularly on 1rst level.
Dunno if it's deliberate, just sharing

How'd you do that, Bopah? I'm on the front page of the highscores for total kills, but I still suck balls at the actual game.

I can think of one big complain at the moment. That is the achievement "It's nice to have options, unlock all classes, perks and gear". Do you realize how uber long this would take? Like 100+ hours which is a big turn off for the people thinking of getting all the achievements.

Dam I have played this game so much now. It's awesome. I have gotten the impossible badge with all characters now. What is this whine about luck I keep reading? I can beat the game and get the impossible badge 20 times in a row even with the worst unluck streak (except probably not with wizard and fighter, need a little luck with those). So for the people who whine about luck, you just need more practice.

On the other hand, in my current run, I've received 5 potions of full healing in the first two stages alone, and two enchanted pieces of equipment in the first stage. This is a runaway streak of good luck, which is just as undesirable as runaway bad luck, since it negates challenge. I should expect the game to invisibly increase the Attack of all enemies so that I am forced to use these healing potions, and bring them back down to normal when I have two left.

And I would like to clarify on your rebuttal. I didn't say that a game should contain no luck, merely that luck must never be a crucial deciding factor in winning or losing. Key word 'crucial'. It's the difference between getting struck by a critical hit or status effect that forces you to change strategy to survive, and being forced to play the odds with an enemy that has a one-hit-KO attack that can't be avoided and triggers 10% of the time no matter what you do.

It's occurred to me that I've been complaining a lot about this game recently. I think I've just been playing this so much, and focusing so closely on the bad, that I needed a fresh perspective to appreciate the good. And after playing Spelunky (NEVER. AGAIN.), I can tell you that I very much have a new appreciation for the good in this game.

@ChaoticBrain: Every great game in history has had the element of luck! It's an extremely vital source of entertainment, and sorry to say that you're opinion (no matter how intellectual it sounds) is not very well thought out. Name one game that doesn't have a sense of randomness in it and I'll show you a game that sucks balls.

So after I lose my save, I start over... half heartedly... die and go play something else. Later on I come back. My original save is back. um... what?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
My save completely disappeared. Was almost done with hard badge... I didn't do anything, make any changes, delete data/cookies/anything. SO FRUSTRATING.

For any game which continues to be developed, the developer should always take great pains to remove the element of luck from game mechanics wherever it will not cause great upheavals in game balance. The ideal game, regardless of genre, is one where the outcome of victory or defeat lies entirely in the player's skill. Invisible forces should always be at work, breaking streaks of bad luck and sabotaging oddly fortunate chains of events. While the element of luck can be permitted to introduce excitement into gameplay, in the end, it is the player, and the player alone, who should control whether they succeed or fail.

Also, Polymorph should not transform a creature into the exact same creature type. (I don't mean it shouldn't resist, I mean the spell hits a Crossbow Guard, and transforms into a Crossbow Guard.)

I just got 3 Leather Vambraces in treasure chests in the first stage alone, and a fourth in the second stage. I think it would be nice to hard cap the number of times a piece of equipment may be found in any given stage to 1, and 3 in the entire Act.
