I never thought I enjoyed a sim dating game about monks so much! Haven't played till finish yet but damn such a good experience!

great game indeed i definitely recommend it, for anyone that is hesitant its a bit confusing at first but stick with it and you will have a game worth remembering
I intended to make a game that has more to it than it seems at first, so that people would keep being pleasantly surprised as they played. That's probably an awful selling tactic but I'm really glad that you liked the game.

This is one of the best dating type Sims I've played! IMO. I hope there will be a part 2 or a sequel, cause the game kinda leaves you hanging at the 'good ending'.
A sequel was planned but I doubt I will ever make it since I've started since one year working on another game of a different kind. But I'm also considering a remake of Reting Rimpoche's DS with true artist's graphics and Unity code, which wouldn't take me so much time...

I created a bittersweet ending for my game (well, 2 bitter/sweet endings technically) because I thought it was the right thing to do given the context and everything, but now I got my severe but right comeuppance through Dontnod's "Life is Strange" bittersweet ending(s) and I feel miserable. Oh well. Karma happens. :)

i give it a 3/5 just coz i feel it could have been better but uts good for what i got.

I love this game. The bittersweet end let me down a bit, but the last phrase from our fellow monk brought a smile on my face. Thank you, RanXYZ.

Awesome game, terribly underrated. The intro scene put me off a bit, but... I get it. The ending is a bit bittersweet, too. But since the rest of the game more than compensates, 5/5 for everything else.

The MC should be able to say "no, we won't ban the other parties, and if you mention that again, I'll have you executed". "Sorry, sir. I recommend you ban the other parties..." "GUARDS!... Now I am off to Iori, bye" :D

First time I've ever played one of these. I really loved the story. Hope there will be a sequel. If not, I guess I can imagine myself of what it could be.

Actually SirenSong, there is a notion of karma in buddhism as well. See that for example :

Seeing how the game is written, the author has probably been to Tibet at least once, and is rather familiar with its culture.

Well... It's interesting.. but it's not written that well.. I mean, if you're going to make a game in another culture, at least do some research lol. You're mixing your religions. Karma is Hinduism not Buddhism, and it doesn't "leave the body" it remains after someone is reincarnated. Also,I think that when you play the debate minigame for the first time, it should give you a tutorial (yes, I know that one of the monks sort of explains it, but still). Just trying to give you some constructive criticism, so that if you make another one, it'll be better :p

After besting the three most influential politicians in a debate, mastering cultural, religious, and power-based knowledge, and studying foreign intellectual books, Reting STILL can't argue with the palace gatekeeper about not banning political parties solely because he's infatuated with yaks and because the only thing on his mind is finding Iori, even though Reting should probably know by now that she'd have to flee if political parties were banned. Makes perfect sense.

By the way, is there only one possible ending? It seems there is only a bad end (you kiss her, you become the regent, and she leaves forever). And can you actually buy a car or weapons, or is it just for decoration?
Many things are just for decoration ! What you depict is the "good" end, that in fact is not necessarily better than the "bad" end. Please don't resent me for that, that game was from the very start intended to have a bittersweet ending. Somewhat metaphoric, if you get my point :)

I used to think that everything rated under 3.5/5 on kongregate was utter crap, not even woth playing for 5 minutes. I was completely right, until I found this game. I don't even understand why this game doesn't stand out, it's a great game , as good as dating sim and minami hamazaki, perhaps even better because more orginal. You get 5/5 just to compensate.

on my first play through.... "can we ban them" Idk, leave me alone..."blah blah blah","can we ban them?" no,"blah blah blah" "I think we should ban them", no..."can we ban them?"*selects only one option* "okay, ban time" FINE, WAIT NOOOOOOO!
This scene may be my favorite part of the whole game : I chuckle to myself everytime I read it, even though I'm the one who wrote it in the first place - I suppose I'm just the kind of person that's easy to please. Anyway, glad you liked it.
