artwork=way cool! Looks super pretty.
gameplay=pretty suck
Going to have to agree that there needs to be some kind of hook to keep the player going..maybe an exp pt system, or items you can buy in town. An "item" that would fit into the fights would be one time modifier cards like wild cards that match anything and have a dmg modifier. Just something to add interest and make it a little less like Bejewelled games.
Agree with charle, that the travel is annoying. Once you've cleared a map you get to revisit each town, where you do nothing, so that you can click leave, so that you can visit another town, where you do nothing, ad infinitum.

The game was ok, it was just a quest that goes in a line. you go from the beginning to the end. and do puzzles on the way...thats it...it lost its fun appeal when i learned you didnt gain any kinda real experience, or spells, or items, or anything of value only gold so you could rest in a town. Still there was no gain. the basic concept was ok, but with no advancement, or something to instill the viewer with a want to continue, you got nothing.

Very nice graphics and audio, yet it lacks incentive for me to keep playing.
A rule of thumb with small games... a player should understand every advantage, disadvantage and possibility within 2 minutes of clicking play.
I got gold but for a long time I couldn't see how to spend it. I got to the second map, finally got beaten and couldn't be bothered to retry.

Dude. This isn't an RPG OR an Adventure Game.
It's A PUZZLE! This has been mis-filed. Though it has the premise of an adventure, it is, in essence, a reskin of Bejewelled and that ilk, it's a decent puzzle, but I aggree. It should have more options, such as the ability to pass over towns you've alreadypatrolled the roads around, so you don't have to click that 'leave' button every second, stats, spell points, perhaps, as a way to increase the damage of your spells, bonuses, etc. It's like a very basic bejwelled.

Way too radom, fails to motivate after completing the first map. Needs power ups, shops, quests...
Stille, there is a certain, albeit very limited appeal due to the combat system. 2/5

Spellblazer was made professionally by Game Factory, which is why the graphics and gameplay is so awesome. Great concept for battles; it combines my love of RPGs with my love of Bejeweled! :D

I think that, while the combat system could be fun, there isn't much in between battles. There needs to be like... some plot or something.

by the way it's true, the graphic is really nice.
the gameplay has a nice idea, of course it would need development that will never come :)

I honestly don't like the system itself, but I think this game was put together very professional. For that, I give a 5/5; I may not like it, but I am still going to get all the way through it just because I believe the creator deserves that much.
Also, I have seen this game on several sites; I am not going to call "stolen" on anyone ever, but I would like to see the devs add addition info when uploading titles that are "known" outside of Kongregate, it does inspire people to yell "stolen" often.

the game is great, excellent art and i love the bejeweled combat. what could you have added is a small tute as people dont always read the instructions below, leaving them confused... (just many dont read the manual b4 playing). quicker storyline and character development would good too. the sound/music could be better.
and seriously how many people played it all the way through? from some of the comments some people didnt...
and why is so bad the main character looks geeky?

the reason there are two resting options gives you extra damage for the next round of battles, moving from one place to another, spending 20 everytime is recommended but only pay 100 when there is an opponent you cant get past, i like the concept but i got bored before i even got extra spells

I love the artwork and the presentation. Top notch. The lack of any help screens makes understanding some of the finer details difficult and confusing. For example, What does resting accomplish? And why am I given two options for resting (paying 20 gold or 100 gold). I chose to pay nothing and just leave. What effect does that have on my battles? It's nice you want to tell a story, but first help me understand how to play.

It's chance if they get a 5 combo or you get a 5 combo :) Nice game-play the way its kinda like Bejeweled. 5/5 Nice Ending.
