polored only when you use the mixture does it give an indication if it was right. but tere are hints and ways to findu exactly what you need to make. ther are two ways to properly makethe crystal repellant, only one way to make the explosive enhaner s far s I know.
just scan all 6 possible components (if you found less search some more) then klook at the scan results and the two ercepi's you can find. then do the simle math of combining the recepi.

Can someone tell me if the chemical mixture actually says when it produces something useful? All i get (despite having the correct formula, for both the crystal dissolvant and the explosive) is "chemical mixture" and it isn't useful for anything -_-

I wish i could fix the life support with the random stuff the printer makes so i could last the two days and kill the rescue crew.

Achievments: Spaced=use eject right at the start, escape pod= use the escape pod, hull breach= remove the gas and detonate the crystal at its base with you right beside it, the truth + decontamination + lost in space= reach the bedroom, find the one more crystal in space and detonate the whole ship.

You get the lost in space achievement by combining the bomb and the explosive potion and put it on the ships power core/ generator you must also use the astronaut suit , decompress the airlock (were you started) via the control panel in there by closing the door and decompressing the room then opening the exterior door and going out there then you open the little warning thing and pull it out and go to the asteroid area then you click on some of the debris until you find the a crystal. Then you go back inside and close the exterior door and pressurize it again. Then you open the interior door and leave and put the bomb on the ship's power core. Then you detonate. I think you need to get the captains access card and turn off the safety protocols so you can get out.

Well, that made me feel dumb. I have no clue how to make the contamination level 0 but I have too much pride to go to the walkthrough. Fantastic game!

I love this series and was really happy to see another installment. I'll admit I saw who the killer was coming but that didn't really hinder my enjoyment. Difficult but not impossible, which I appreciate.

i think the scariest part was when i saw an eye in a window then my power went out then came back, plus a huge thunderstorm.

In the lab, there are valid component mixtures you havent registered. I was trying over and over the combination you didn't think of, wasting time. Specifically: Detergent-Acid-Blood makes the Crystal Dissolvent. Detergent-Acid-Alcohol makes the explosive. Please REGISTER them, it'll be frustrating for first timers who don't want to use a walkthrough. Press the + on the right so he will see it and fix it.
I don't understand, what requires fixing? Both recipes you've mentioned are correct and they are "registered" so everything works fine :) In fact, game only stores numeric values of each component, so if numbers add up, it will work :)

Note that the hull breach achievement only gets awarded if you do not amplify the explosive, so in order to get all the achievements without having to restart, get the airlock one first, followed by hull breach - then the order doesn't matter.

I had to watch the walkthrough to get the decontamination and lost in space endings. The game never tells us how to make the mixture that needs to be added to the bomb to be big enough for the ship. I thought that those three items were just extra, like the pancakes and ration.

SPOILERS:
I think the best ending (but not the highest scored ending) is where you do all the steps up to blowing up the research laboratory, but before you blow it up you get the code digit from the dead researcher. Then you discover the truth and get the crystal from space and blow up the lab. After that, instead of leaving on the escape pod, wait for life support systems to fail and die on the ship.
The rescue party figures out what's going on and is able to contain the remaining crystals. Way better than the 100% ending, where you die and nobody knows what the hell happened.

SPOILER FOR THE HULL BREACH ENDING: Do everything that you would to achieve Truth and Decontamination but "end it all" in a different room...
