But heres a twist! What if the Traveler you were chasing was yourself from Deep Sleep? The Traveler you talk to in Deeper Sleep tells you something how people from different times merge in this ocean. So could the Traveler with the flashlight be you from the past, before you turned into a monster by going deeper and deeper into this realm?

I'm not much for horror games but this made me feel scared to continue, especially in the hallway with... loveliness I suppose. 11/10 best point and click ever.

Some details you may not have noticed : the "blank" paper from the room with the screwdriver is actually a face. Felicity's ? The vent grills is the kitchen say "It smells really bad from here", like the one in the first game. The room in the first game is also from the first game. You meet again there the sewing machine, the umbrella, and more importantly the mirror when you used to "barely see your own relflection". In the kitchen, there are elements from "Don't escape". In the room with the screwdriver, again, you see the three elements you put in the bag in the second episode to activate the 5kg door. When you read the book about the bottom feeders, the bottom right corner is shadowy and black. It may be your monster's hand. There is a jump scare is the dark church, a guy goes between the two rightmost pillars in the third room. I sometimes don't get it, it may be random. The shadow at the beginning is NOT the shape of the shadow people.

So I turned out the lights, but on my headphones thinking I'd be fine. I had played "terrifying" games before. Well, I threw my laptop after 3 clicks... I'm done!

I used to laugh at the words "scary giant space anus". Then I met the scary giant space anus. I am no longer laughing.

I just realized that at the end you're the thing that was at the beginning of the story. It's all just a continuous loop.
That is, unless if you end it.

So wait.. the ending where you let him go, was what happened in the first game, so that means that the first game really isnt the first game but this is the first game?... ... *Error Error, fire in deck B!*

So... in the first part, when you were the Traveler, and there was a shadow person chasing you, exactly like the reversed viewpoint of this ending... Was that another noble soul who didn't wish to let the cycle continue?

I payed the first two games long ago. I waited for this, waited months until I forgot the existence of the deep sleep series. My wait was not in vain.

(SPOILER) For anyone who's confused, to get both endings you have to either catch the traveler by clicking on him , or do nothing and let him escape.

I seem to be getting a weird glitch... whenever I start a new game the game mutes itself. I have to manually go to the options and increase the sound again after the intro. Other than that, I feel this wasn't as scary as the previous two chapters. The monsters being unable to kill you if you didn't move, and the little "health" bar on top telling you exactly how much you could move before being chomped have kind of taken away the "fear of death". Still a very nice ending to what was probably the best pixel horror series I have ever played in this site. Well done!

It is amazing how much scary a game can be despite having at most two things that can hurt you each game. I think that half of that is the music, and the majority of the rest is the brilliant hints that make the anticipation more frightful than meeting the actual monster. Like the attic in the previous game or the info about the button feeder. I was almost too afraid to move the flashlight for the first half of the game.

For those confused by the intro, it seems likely that this was based off of an actual phenomenon known as 'sleep paralysis', causing a person to be aware of their surroundings but unable to move. It also frequently causes hallucinations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis
