Hey you, yea you. Like to gamble with your characters race and class? Like to watch them sacrifice there life just to give you points? Do you like to watch as your retarded character walks in the same pattern for the third time? THEN THIS GAME IS FOR YOU! COME PLAY ROGUATHIA NOW!!!

I loved NetHack (and I finished it!). It was the richest game for 10-15 years. But this one is a bad parody. A player in a rogue game had to create a strategy. Here the hero is more stupid than mobs. They at least keep to the same level.

Pro tip: just unlock knight class for 10k sp, allow the tourists to die to jackals and eventually you'll get a Human/Elven knight to own that trash. =)

I got somewhat into the game, got manticore/monk with indivisibility, and last buff I got was proficiency, now I just get a black screen, weird.

I have manticore + monk combo with constitution as lesser con, usually I lose when on explore, often on the first level. Wander seems to improve my odds.

The lack of an FAQ or in-game help resource is the biggest issue, as it forces you to rely on trial-and-error/guesswork to see what any of the different races/classes/abilities do. The fact that AI partners (a) never seem to stick together, running off to do their own thing, and (b) that they sometimes get stuck in a room and run around in circles, puts a hamper on what could be a very promising concept. With a few small fixes, this could be a fantastic idle game.

Game is really good tbh, could use a little work on some stuff, for example the AI. an example being my gnome caveman getting in a room and not wanting to come out. besides that the game is really good. with a bit of polishing here and there it could be extremely good.

Zidane007stone, AC is Armor Class and it affects whether or not enemies can hit you. Lower AC is better, because that makes it harder to hit you. I believe that AC MIGHT (I don't know exactly) be a modifier to a d20 roll that the enemy makes when trying to hit your characters, so a positive AC makes it easier to hit you.

well, nice idea. add some music/sounds. and more actions for the player (for example, changing ai or making some decisions where to go)

How much work would you say went into this? This used ROT.js for some of the heavy lifting, right? Any design advice for someone new to ROT?

Click to upgrade, P to pause, M to toggle “move” mode, WASD/Numpad to move.
There -- I've answered 90 percent of the comments.

If you made a sequel, a controllable version of this game, I'd play it. Unlocking new races and classes ourselves to play as would be fun.

How do I get more heroes? It's dangerous to go alone in a goddamn dungeon. Didn't mean to have a Legend of Zelda reference in there, but still it is.

There is a bug with two explorers. They get stuck on each other. They don't move but the counter runs. It can be unblocked in manual mode.

Took me 3 days, and reading the forum posts to realize I could manually control my guy... should have read the instructions.

hmm apparently the dev's not gonna update this game anymore, really lame, don't release half a game and leave it, people will not take you serious!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I will come back and rate it when it's playable.
Needs explanations, manageable inventory, no random charbuilds; let us choose class etc. so we can feel we can effect the game.

In regards to the corpse carrying question, the corpses can be cooked and used as food (or in the case of the caveman just eaten uncooked) in case you run out of rations and need a way not to starve

The first things to do to farm a LOT faster: Buy Random: Manticore and Random: Monk for race and class. Then buy Race: Manticore and Class: Monk. Set those in the menu on your active character. As a Manticore, you have 3 Head, Body and Neck slots for gear, but no weapon slots. That means all attacks will level up proficiency in Unarmed. As a Monk class, you have the highest proficiency cap in Unarmed (1000). From there, you should start being able to clear 11 floors, and accumulate VPs to buy more dungeon floors and features, along with farming more SP and KP. Buy Lesser and Greater Traits, add more monsters, get your Utility (try Invisibility, since Manticores already have a LOT of Utility built in), and get a good Buff. After that, just keep making all the things more bigly!

It's so stupid that the more-expensive upgrades show up at the top of the list before you can even afford them, so you have to manually scroll to the bottom of the list to get to what you can afford. It should either start at the bottom and stay there unless you scroll up, or put the cheaper upgrades on top, where you see them before the ones you can't bloody afford!

I bought an upgrade for an additional ally. I thought I would have two mercenaries on one board who explored the underground together. I was surprised when it turned out that they were doing it separately, why is that?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It would also be nice if you could set the character to pickup ONLY certain types of items (armor, weapons, corpses, etc)

Is this a glitch? the character is level 8 and still on floor one. the enemies are spawning greatly even though I did not get anything I think. I do not mind though as I like grinding.

in the future when you get back to this, would you make a version to play regularly or to download and play? It seems like a fun version of nethack.

need a way to select which character to control when in manual mode. (and keep the others in auto-mode, as opposed to the sitting ducks they are now)

please add a sanity-check for the exit-generation. (all rooms explored for the final floor of the current dungeon, no exit to be found)
I never said I wouldn't finish it, just that I do not have time right now. I'd like to revisit it in the future, and Kong gave me a lot of feedback that I'll be considering when it does get picked up again.

It should be possible to apply all your upgrades to the adventurers, not just one at a time. Idle games thrive on boosting your production/exploration ability, keeping it limited to just a few slots runs counter to that mad dash for the most upgrades.

Would love a way to undo some of the upgrades for dungeon creatures or even just restart completely because I now can never get more than 5000sp per life with 2 heroes because I decided that upgrading the dungeon would be good idea.
