instead of playing this game, you could also play nothing for the same amount of time, and probably have all the same kinds of experiences.

You need better controls. The laser, frenzy, teleport and shockwave all require you to move a finger from the direction controls, and it only takes a second's error when moving the finger back and it is game over...

I reached Stage 18 with maxed shockwave, maxed accuracy, maxed life/bullets, with a few points in siege and teleport. Maybe this is obvious, but the bases don't hurt you, so doing a shockwave in the center of a base is an instant kill. Doing this at the very start of a level combined with siege gives you a huge chain reaction of bullets.

If the machines are unstoppable like it says in the description, what the hell is the point of fighting them and not running like hell?Did the other humans just convince the idiot we're playing as to distract them while they make a run for it?

keys stick way too much u cant fight from one corner like it seems to think it can stay. have to pound on the keyboard just to get him to unstick.

Truly awesome shooter. The tech tree is a thing of beauty, giving you many different strategies to try. I haven't had this much play out of a single game in ages.

I've made it to exactly level 30 three times in a row now. I would really like to see 31, if that's alright with you, Mr. game.

Regainig health when leveling up would be nice. There should at least be boss fights every couple of levels with a health bonus at the end.

I hope people aren't angry at all these comment guides, but here's mine. I try to max shockwave quickly for all occasions since it recharges fast and can attack and defend at the same time, but none on Knockback. I always put 1 on Laser, Shards, and Teleport to use as emergency skills or damage dishing ones. I would avoid using Homing Missiles and it's Burst if you're grinding since they can occasionally destroy all bases. Frenzy is useful since it makes all skills recharge twice as fast. Unbreakable Will is good, but use spare skill points on it since Frenzy doesn't last forever. For the top row, Critical might want to be saved for later but I don't have any suggestions. A strategy useful later in the game is when you have Frenzy, Unbreakablewill, and Shockwave, (maybe even Laser) you can dive into the middle of bases and enemies and do massive damage without dying, but get out fast. That's all and I don't mind you giving this thumbsdown if you don't like it.

Whew. Made it to level 30. Started by maxing shockwave ASAP, then maxed out critical, then everything that lets you pump out more bullets, getting one point each in frenzy and laser when able. That will get you a long way, if you're careful.

i also noticed that the drone bases tend to spawn a limited amount of enemies, so if you circle around them (herding them into the center for easy prey) then lure them away, you can either kill them and start over (for EXP) for kill off the bases (to easily get to next level). an easy tactic useful only during the critical upgrading period of the first 7 levels and near the end of others

I would then upgrade precision (pierce) and power (splittershell) to increase bullet penetration and creation. with that many bullets, you can overpower enemies by sheer number and force, so i would stray away from precision type upgrades until the very last, (if you like missiles and lasers, but in my opinion, they just get me killed :3) and and keep teleport (when upgraded) as active (active skill use [spacebar]) because when you have multiple skills and hotkeys within the keyboard, [T] is personally hardest to hit correctly when surrounded and cornered in later levels, whereas that's the only skill that could save my a$$ while waiting for my other skills to recharge. Hope this helps ^-^

health does NOT go up in frenzy, but a suggestion, when upgrading, upgrade the power (burst), and agility (fire rate, frenzy, unbreakablewill) first, (it's like near invincibility). then go for agility (teleport, backfire). in combination with frenzy, teleports will buy you some time for that required 10 second charge (15 but -5 for duration of frenzy mode, fully upgraded). from there you're free to mix it up if you will, hell even the teleport is optional, but this is just a strategy guide, not a walkthrough.

Change the XP so that there is a limited quantity of XP per level by either setting a max spawn or only awarding XP for the bases if you want to award skill versus persistence. Granted you'll need to increase the XP per base if you base only option.

Lol. I had my itunes running while I was playing this and the music matched it like a movie. You know when you get trapped in a corner are getting swarmed? This 'war/battle' music I got from a CD started going on. Later on when I was dying with around 10 life left against another huge swarm, this extremely sad instrumental started up, like whenever someone dies in one of those movies set in wars. XD

The most awesome and oldschool stat build: On 5 first points, give 3 to accuracy, 1 to speed and 1 for that moar bullets upgrade. Then just upgrade those things until you have maxed them. Then go for the siege skill and max it. After that, 1 point in frenzy (Use it right at level's start to deal some serious damage), then go for missile/missile burst. When you've maxed em all, means you are pretty deep already xD What you do next depends on you, but i recommend to max frenzy and then go for the splitter shells..... I haven't got farther then that, so won't be givin' fake advice.
Thats about it. And rate it up, if you like it.

major problem is that you cant collect health packs in frenzy. This pretty much defeats the purpose of health packs later on in the game since if you dont use frenzy to get the pack you lose more health than its worth.

I made it to Stage 43, but I would've died much sooner if it wasn't for the lag later on. I destroyed bases with Shockwave to clear half the screen and mainly stayed there waiting for Missiles and Shockwave to destroy everything. In much later stages, I focused my main gun only on enemies. My upgrade path was mainly: [1] Max Shockwave, but never put points in Knockback. Shockwave instantly kills enemies right next to you and can destroy bases when touching them. [2] Put 1 point each in Pierce and Criticals. [3] Max Homing Missiles, and put ~5 in Missile Burst. [4] Max Frenzy. The cooldown for Shockwave goes twice as fast when Frenzy is active. It'll also help you dash in to grab power-ups. [5] Max Pierce, Criticals, and Missile Burst. [6] Upgrade your main gun starting with Burst and Splitter Shells. Around Stage 30, you'll need more Speed from Fire Rate to outrun some enemies. Upgrade Accuracy last since you're depending on Criticals.

Lower levels, take your time not killing the bases, every level up is skill points, so if you can get more level up's earlier, you have a far greater chance.

this should help:
1. the laser will be your best friend
2. use the power upgrade only when you need health
3. when the situation is under control, leave about 5 bases to use for leveling
4. the number of of bullets the missile explodes into matters more than how often they are shot
5. the arrow things have a pattern; use the laser to cut a path through the middle to run away when you're cornered
6. take advantage of the emptiness at the beginning of the level to get rid of as many bases as you can
7. try to line up your laser shot to hit as many bases as you can and with as many enemies in the way as possible
8. the laser shards and missile shards are two of the most efficient enemy clearing weapons in the game
this is all i have so far but feel free to copy this and add your own

Best method is to stay away from special abilities. I got twice as far as my previous best (new best is 12) by just putting skill points in the top row. Up rep this so others can see it

Your upgrade system makes no sense. Why should killing drones make the player more powerful? Why not killing bases? It makes it so a player that spends an hour killing drones on level 1 is unstoppable, but a player who is efficient at killing bases (supposedly the goal) becomes less powerful. The system you are using makes sense for dungeons and dragons, but this is not dungeons and dragons. Give players upgrades at the ends of levels. It will make balancing the game much easier.

Can we just have a health reset at the end of each level. I upgraded the perk for my life and it gave me a greater total number of hit points available to me, but kept my current hit points at 17. I was 17/55 now instead of 17/50. That was a waste of my upgrade point.... change the health system somehow... 3/5

There is something a bit more important than the Health issue: Even when this is the only application I've open, when I get to the level 15/16 it starts having mayor lag problems, and you end up loosing a lot of life (All of it, actually) because you can't control the character and it goes straight to the enemies... It is the second time I've lost that way and I wont start all over again to loose like that...

"Tip: The difficulty of each stage is partly dependent on your character's level." That sounds like an incentive not to level up if you ask me. What is the point then in getting better?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Best way to freefarm: On a level with the "guard" type enemies, just kill everything else. Upgrade missles, and sit back and afk.

If this AI is so god damn powerful, why cannot it copy your super-hiper-kick-ass suit and make an army of unstoppable bots, launch an ultimate attack or just blow the earth up and finish off any humans left, It is 2300, they must have some mass destruction weapons...

Why is everybody complaining about difficulty and health drops? The game actually isn't that hard at all. And the game isn't intensely graphical like the warning at the start said.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Laser is definitely the way to go. fully upgrade it and it's split ability, and take out the bases at the beginning of each level.

First of all when I started, reading the description it sounded alot like Terminator.
Then it became a real good game.
A fun game. Just a little too steep of a difficulty curve in my mind. You start off with 3 bases, basic enemies, then BAM a couple levels later you are facing 15 bases and enemies that are extremely tough to kill. I love a good challenge, as long as it is reasonable. This needs a more smooth difficulty curve.
