Fun game, but to short.
It could have been the first level.
I dont mind that there was no war, who say there have to be war, fighting and so on. But the next stage could be a little harder and so on.
You could introduce more thing at each stage, put a timelimit or something else, so you had a goal.
But else it was really fun. 4/5. Need a "real" goal and to be a little longer, to get the 5th star.

Very nice and fun game, and it definitely has the potential to be more! Or at the least, the framework and setup can become more in the next game or iteration of this game style for the developer.
Thank you for making it!

I would love to see the dev of this game to take this game as a first step towards a full sized city manager. Great job!

Lovely little game, few problems though.
1) Too short, sadly seeing all the expanse going to the left over the sea I was expecting something to happen. Definitely follow other peoples suggestions to add to the game as there are some nice ideas.
2) When assigning trolls to a certain roll / building the game should pick from the closest house and not the closest troll. Quite often I would have to allocate immediately if a new house or painstakingly select the owner of a house and keep spamming the move to location order (which gets reset if they eat) so that they would be in the area I want them to be.

This reminds me of "Grim Nights" due to sidescrolling. At the same account, a minimap where you can click to focus your screen would be really helpfull to avoid click and drag just to manuever the screen.

Game froze on me and had to hard reboot computer. I just went afk for less than 10 minutes on the title screen, 2/5 stars.

I have a few ideas for expanding the game.
Limit Storage of Resources. I would start with 100 of each, and give +50 per Storehouse controlled.
Give players access to Workspace Storage. Stone Mason takes up extra stone, if placed before a Mill... Allowing players to prevent resource delivery to each workspace would prevent this. Or, set them to receive resources only when workers or assistants are active?
Upgrading Buildings. The next level of each building could allow more workers, more resources, and more. Would give a reason to expand beyond the first castle.
Troll Upgrades. Improved Storage, better walking speeds, slower growing Hunger, faster worker, etc.
Carts could improve storage space, while decreasing movement speed.
New creatures to hunt, besides Bunnies.
Something that fights back would be a nice change. Bears, Tigers, Night Raiding Demons, Humans with pitchforks and torches.

i have got a problem. i ordered to build a stock house ASAP.....
Constuction priority changed
Laborers ordered to build stockhouse
Constuction priority changed
Laborers ordered to build stockhouse
Constuction priority changed
Laborers ordered to build stockhouse
and so on.....

Only having one assistant for the castle seems pointless if you choose to dink around with the game after building it. You quickly run into the situation where the castle is waiting for the resource area to be cleared in order to drop more.
Other than that it's a pretty decent little game. Room for improvement as others have mentioned, but it's a good foundation for sure.

I was expecting a dragon burning everything when I finished the 7th kingdom and nothing happened, then I remember there were 9 at the end...

Nice simple game, I like that in the end you can still challenge yourself to just fill the map with castles since they produce everything

Keep gettting a "not enough resources to plant tree" message even though I have food and water coming out of my ears. What's the deal?

Perhaps a way of expanding the game, if you decide to make a 2nd one (I hope), is to make it so that once you build the castle, you go on to a bigger map. This can also be done by making the end requirement a boat to sail the ocean, or some kind of way to cross the mountains. But through the world map you can have empires or other factions? where you go to war and expand your territories or something. But so far I really like the game, and other than what multiple comments already say, I feel it is good.
You can do this! If you select a resource on the ground there will be a button to have someone pick it up (it might take a minute). Or, you could select a Laborer and right click the resource. If you want them to only collect a resource type as a whole, you can set a laborer to Gather Only, then pick the resource you want by cycling the priority button ("All" by default).

If you make a part 2, and I certainly hope you do, expand the concept (warrior class and occasional intruders into the village like a wooly mammoth dragon or sabre tooth tiger, a 'leader', tax system, long term endgame such as troll rocket launch or building Troll-Henge), keep it casual, and add a few kred buying perks that aren't particularly p2w. 5 stars from me

I think that you need to rebalance food in the game. As it stands, there's way too much fluctuation of food (you can go from 300 to 0 in a few minutes really easily even if you only have one guy too many) and I have to devote about 80% of my workforce to making food at farms. Also, having an assistant at a farm doesn't really do much. It'd be so much better if the assistant provided a slight bonus (like +30% food production).

Ended with 48 workers, 12 stock houses, 9 castles, and 999 of each resource. planted a ton of berry bushes and 7 wells, was way more water than 48 people needed, awesome game

I really like it! It could do with expansion though, maybe once the castle is built ( castle can train troops) build a tunnel through the mountain to an equal sized piece of land with rival/enemy inhabitants such as humans, dwarves and elves

Would love to see this expanded with additional builds to make additional resources. Also random terrain generation and have to build bridges, towers etc.. love the game - solid 5/5

From the start if the game, ive been struggling with wood. It always was very low, even tho i had free lumberjacks and laborers. Now i have 49 trolls and 21 free laborers. I planted lots of trees (used about 300 water) but nobody wants to carry the logs to the stockpile :(( even tho its pretty close

Hint for efficiency:
Intersperse berry bushes every now and then.
This allows your workers to eat on-the-job, as they pass by the bushes in any case. And once planted, bushes require zero labor to produce food!

How about adding a timer, shows how long it took you to build the Castle?
Maybe graph-over-time of population, materials, etc..?
The game currently feels like a good stub for a full game, but lacks...direction
Hey, appreciate the feedback! Graphs like that would definitely be cool. Good idea for if I decide to make a version 2! Thanks for playing and commenting!

Tactics for sub 50min: (1) build all things very close to storehouse (2) mass gather food when need it for building (3) first storehouse next to spring to right--put gather all assigned to that storehouse (4) berry bushes > farms -- about eight of them will cover food costs (5) only need one of each production building (6) saturate mine early on
