Its a great game, except for the spawning distance. Sure 200 pixels is nice, but when you're moving wildly around, and something spawns 200px from you but you start moving that way 200px really doesn't cut it. If I were to make a suggestion about the enemies, I would say that if you're not going to change the spawn distance, then at least slow down the colored triangle guys, they move so much faster compared to the other enemies where they might as well spawn on top of you, or at least up the speed of your character.

I like this game, alot. Ruins my FPS when I've got all those enemies + my bullets + my helper's bullets, though.

set a min spawn distance from ship.. or increase it if there is one. often times ship spawn under faster than you can escape. also maybe a shield upgrade or some way to create a litle bit more survivability.

That 200 pixel spawning distance doesnt really cut it. When you're moving right and an enemy spawns 200 pixels away moving left, theres very little time to react. Especially when you have enemies in all other directions that you can move in pretty much. Remove the increasing cost of health. Those issues make the game too hard. To make the game more fun... well, one suggestion is to make the pips attract to you more easily. More money to spend.

WTF??? this is hard! the ships always come right at you faster than you can shoot, AND they frequently spawn right under you!!!

What is with the annoying trend recently of people not people SIMPLE WAYS TO EXIT OR RESTART THE GAME? If I want to start over, I have to refresh my browser? Seriously? Please take a correspondence course on game design or something. 1/5 for being lazy.

I only got hit when I lagged for a second, it really hurts this game, even with quality at low. Besides that its awesome!
I like how the heath scales, it makes it harder to survive longer, but its expensive: either 10% hp or a weapon upgrade, hmm. Make it more like 30% for the prices of now.

yep eventually game designers will realize to make laptop freindly controls and they will get higher ratings. Even a sacrifice in game play to accomodate would be welcome.

I thought it was nice at first, but there are a lot of balance issues. Spawning everything at a close distance from the player and then telling them not to move is NOT an option. Spawn them from a further spot. Also, the shield stage isn't correctly worked out. They're completely immune from your shots up the front, BUT there are also spawning summoners, blue arrows and spikes, which makes it impossible to manouvre around them to kill them. Balance that one.

I have to agree with those commenting about the way the health cost increases for only a very small healing factor and the enemies spawning ontop problems.

Too short, well, the enemies spawning right on you makes it pretty hard, and well, there's pretty much no room for mistakes, the first times you're playing it's terrible, but it gets better, I guess.

Great concept, needs some balance tweaks. Enemies should not be able to spawn on top of you, the "pips" should get pulled towards your ship from a greater distance, and completely rework the health system.

I agree with Dano. This is a good geometry wars clone, though I cannot give it a 5/5 with a few tweaks.
1) Since Health has a scaling cost, you should heal 100% with each use, otherwise keep the cost static. As it stands, health is currently useless.
2) Certain enemies spawn directly into you, this is absolutely annoying when a random cluster of basic arrow-shaped enemies spawn and instakill you. Either add some scripting to prevent anything from spawning within +/-x,+/-y from you, or make them unable to damage you until a second after they've spawned, either would allow you the reaction time needed.
3) I'm not much a fan of the scrolling map. You did a great job with it, but I'd rather one static screen.
4) This is just personal preference, but it'd be nice if your kill points would slowly move towards you, but thats not necessary. I just think it'd add to the dynamics of the game if they weren't static (since everything else is so fast paced)

I would love to see it set so that enemies came from the edge of the map. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, and clearly someone is good at it, since the top scores are full of 600k scores, but I just can't seem to break 150k and I really wanna see what the max wep upgrade looks like.

I gave this 4/5. I think it could be a 5/5 game.. but two things should be changed:
- get rid of the stupid chimes, they are not needed and kinda kill the theme of the game
- enemies spawn into you, wtf is up with that, make a lil time limit before they collide with you cos that is very unfair!
Fix those 2 things and u have an AWESOME game xD

Hint on how to easily defeat shielded enemies: Something holds them from reaching the edge of the playfield, and you can use this to your advantage.
When I found that out, I reached 220k points without healing. :D

I definetly did not like the shielded guys. It was nearly impossible to get behind them without getting shot crazy by everything else. Maybe you should make their shields breakable, and if they already are, they need to be weaker.

Ok the problem with this game is not the enemies spawning on top of you, the problem is that the scrolling screen is not fast enough. Try staying in one place, just shooting anything that comes within the field of vision. You will have generally plenty of time to deal with each threat. Start moving to collect pips and your dead, as you can't see beyond the edge of the screen; which is moving slower then your fighter is. So your fighter will generally reach the edge of the screen before the scrolling will kick in. Hench it looks like an enemy 'spawns' right on top of you, when really it spawned out of your field of vision.

I enjoyed most parts of the game except the fact they would spawn on you. But if its gonna be kept that way, at least could you keep repair price the same, seeing how most people will be repairing a lot through this game.

yup, u should make enemies appear from outside of the box, and cheaper health, maybe intervals of 5 pips each time? its barely fair when the shielded guys pop up...
and (jus an idea) u should add a "shield" to the upgrades, either you can activate it for a short time, or it will just reduce the amount of damage taken =) i can give more ideas if you want, this game would be awesome if some of these were added!

i agree we need a spawn distance and health cheap...not more and more expensive(maybee change every time you lvl up weapon not when you buy health, that way it is the proportion to your pips :))

"If I had any suggestion to the coding of this it would be to set a minimum distance that the enemy has to be from your ship in order to spawn. I was hit too many times by ships that would spawn exactly on top of me. It creates a feeling of "that's not fair"
This. It's not so much a challenge as a frustration when the enemy spawn number goes up and, no matter what your skill level, you're bound to get hit.
