I think the only reason the puzzle felt bad to some is there no introductory puzzle to help them understand what to look for. When i found what to look for, it made the puzzle pretty simple to figure out.

The game was stuck on Loading. Saw the comment about it maybe related to Ad Blocker filters. After adding this custom filter exception, it works: @@/images/social_$image
Please try to load the game with the adblock turned off (if you use it). This method has helped to some guys. If it won’t help you, you can play it on other websites. Never heard about loading problems outside Kongregate.

Fun game! Except I had a heck of a time on 2nd floor due to enemy guts blocking one of my "clues". Mostly my own fault for not being as observant but maybe having their remains disappear after a while might help. I still gave 5 stars though! Looking forward to new content!

just finished the demo of Anodyne. seems to be a cool game.
just struggling with myself if I should buy it for 10 bucks or not...
I see that it also will get a sequel. but in shi tty 3d -.-
might buy it, just for the sake of zelda likeness :-)

I'm assuming you meant top-left, since there are no barriers in the bottom left. And those are still up. Since I reloaded, the puzzle was reset even though the barriers were down in the puzzle room. I tried possible combinations of the two rooms I currently visit, and the barrier in top left room is not opening. Is it a bug because I left the floor between clearing puzzle the first time and visiting that room?

Stuck on floor 2.
I used the found and purchased key on floor one. Found 1 key on floor 2 which I used to get to the puzzle room. That room did not contain a key to open the other door, and the shop no longer has a key to buy...

maybe it's also jsut me being mistaken and I am actually thinking of a completely other game that was kind of similar.
I really have played way too many zelda-like games anyways :-/

just checked back:
it was without a doubt the itch version:
https://wolod.itch.io/knightin
just played the game there, the version now there is the same as the one here on kongregate.
But from my memory, and the comments there support that, the game back then had 3 bosses and stuff.
was it maybe in some beta testing stage or something?
I dont know.
At least I can now be sure that I am not insane :-)
Oh, there are lots of comments about the sequel on itch. I haven't made any beta tests yet, but posted lots of GIFs (including all 4 bosses). In fact version on Kongregate is newer 1.3. I updated Knightin' right before uploading it here. I should update it on itch too by the way. Thanks for reminding. Anyway it's a funny situation :D
Well, maybe you're right. It would make first puzzle much easier. Some kind of a tutorial puzzle. But clues for the second one are scattered all around the floor. So it won't help much, I guess.

Feeling stupid here. Know the answer to the first puzzle, typing it in all over the place, nothing happens. Guess I don't know what to do with those numbers...

okay, beat the game.
and I get what others mean, feels like I played something similar before just that it was with 3 or 4 bosses instead of one.
a dragon wannabe, a magician and one or 2 others
I made this game for a jam a year ago. Working on a sequel when have spare time since then. I posted GIFs with the new bosses on different social media. Maybe you saw them on reddit or twitter? Anyway send me the name of that game please if you remember it. I'd like to take a look.

for me the puzzles make zero sense as I don't find any hints.
only other room with "hints" are rooms with a big fat qr code in it.
and I aint gonna scan qr codes in a flash game, be it to find the solution or to get hints.
are the hints actually things in the room or stuff that has to be found via qr code?

It feels like I've run out of keys on the 2nd floor; all chests empty and i already bought the one from the shop for the extra door on floor one. Should the shop have another key or have I just screwed myself going for treasure instead of progress?
I encountered similar issues with HTML5 games on Kong before. The only recommendation I can give is to turn off the adblock (if you use it) before loading the game. Or you can try it on other websites. Never heard about this problem outside the Kongregate.

For me, it's getting stuck on the loading screen with the bar about 1/3 filled. Running Firefox, if that helps at all.
I encountered similar issue before here. There were people reporting that game won’t load on Kong, but they could play it successfully on other sites. So what can I advise? You may try to load the game with the adblock turned off (if you use it). This method has helped to some guys. If it won’t help you, you can play it on other websites.

I have to say, Thank you for allowing us to get the gold without physically picking it up. I've played too many games that penalize you for not doing so by making it completely disappear.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The "hard" part about the 1st puzzle is that the answer is behind a locked door. If you open the wrong door, you have to buy the key to understand what to do. And if you want to keep your gold to buy the other items, you can't win. It's not really hard, it's a bad design.

Hit radius is too small (or damage zone for some creatures is too small). Four green slimes in one room with two gun towers is a slaughter. I give up. Thanks for the shame.

Short and sweet. The swordplay felt okayish. The swings felt a little bit stiff and short range but with a generous width while the dash attack had an awkward hitbox. So combat wasn't perfect, but good enough. The controls in general worked well though.
The puzzles were simple and more about noticing the solution than figuring it out, which works just fine.

One suggestion for the minimap - it would be know where you are if the map highlighted the room you were in, e.g. in a different color, or flashing, or something. Otherwise, it can get a bit confusing when you're wandering all over creation farming for gold and healing orbs.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I really want to like it, but the controls are far too frustrating for ... I find that the pain of the combat system outweighing the joy of the puzzles (5/5)
You don't need qr codes to solve them. Hints are hidden on the dungeon's floor. Codes are meant to be used only if you get stuck (they contain solutions).

Nice game--just a little too short, but that's ok. I saw the comments about the puzzles being nonintuitive, but I thought they made perfect sense. I am usually the one that needs the cheats! I just thought the first clues on the floor were impossible to miss, and then I was watching for them after that.
Thanks! I was also surprised when people started to complain about the puzzles. Second puzzle is kinda hard, but first one is not. Maybe hints are just hidden too well. I don't know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I would recommend that you give an item description for the items in the store, that amulet that makes you invulnerable after a hit was really useful but it would have been nice to know so that I had a better reason to save my cash for it.
