i never made a game
but i dont talk crap about others:
@Turgor: shutup, hes speaking his mind, and your just being a giant idiot who never made a game. so shutup, and like the creator says, make a game yourself, and shutup, then you can talk crap about other games, and then see all the flame you get on your piece of crap game. so just stop flamming unless you have a good reason

Loren, your hypocrisy amuses me.. "there are already way too many shootorial rip offs with no changed gameplay, only graphic." Hmm... *goes to your profile*, whats this?! a shootorial based shooting game with a stickman! Point of my comment: Don't shoot at people's games when you're making the same ones.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
comon people, if your gonna submit a game at least make sure that its something we havent seen before. there are already way too many shootorial rip offs with no changed gameplay, only graphics and too many crappy pong and maze and quiz games. look at the impossible quiz, it has skips, minigames, stuff that distinguish it, and thats why its fun. if your gonna strip a game in its genre down to its bare bones and try to submit it, then dont waste your time. build something new on the foundation people.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Not a game. Utter waste of my bandwidth. You suck for putting this up. Also your avatar is completely wrong, it should be a nice looping gif, but you use a version with just the first half. That combined with the fact you made this in MS paint tells me you are not a developer, just a wannabee. </flame>

(continued from below)
I've started working on making a Flash game but when I'm done I'll play it first and have my friends try it before I even think of posting it here. And if it still sucks when I post it, I won't whine and cry in the corner like YOU are. I will dismiss the "you suck" posts and accept the "This game sucks because..." posts and work the advice into the next version. So here's some tools and wood, build a bridge and GET OVER IT. Ending video was a riot though. :)

So if you walked into a restaurant and someone brought your food and it was burned lump of charred, unrecognizeable black matter, you'd just eat it and go, "Nom nom, the chef must be new." and then go tell the chef, "That wasn't very good, BUT keep practicing!" No. I'm sorry, but if a "developer" grabs MS Paint and scribbles up something that's utter trash, and then posts it to the world for all to play, then he's going get what he has coming. This site is designed specifically around this concept: people vote and flame how they want. IF the game is actually good, then the votes will balance out in the long run when more people give it 4-5 stars and say nice things about it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Actually awful. Do you not realise this is gonna attract more flamers? I wish I could destroy your computer and give you -5 out of 5 stars. Not even a game. FAIL.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
if you dont want crap dont post crap, im working on my 1st game for kongregate and its taking me forever because i dont want to be like all of those people who post games they didnt try on and complain that people hate it
i you put in a good effort, people wont give you shit
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I find it odd that you say you don't want people to post things like "Why the hell did you post this crap?" yet you uploaded this. Does that not make sense to anyone else?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I made my "Shoot & Avoid" in exactly 11 minutes. I'm sorry, but your game sucks. Try to make it a game rather than just "click this to win" and "click this to lose".
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You don't even have to click on the next button, anywhere on the screen works, and I AM a developer, admittedly I've only made a few short games but they're a whole lot better than yours, most flamers comments get flagged anyway by the nice people

There's a minority of young dev's who do an amazing job, even if it's not perfect, it's clear they produced real effort. On the other hand, there's this swarm of bored emo kids who can't stand the idea of working more than 30 min before uploading their stuff. You will notice the former do get "constructive" comments. And about "flamers" who can't code, you don't need to be a mechanic to prefer driving a real car to a wreck. You're in a consumer market, get over it or just quit if it's too hard on you.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
man, looking at the games you have on kong, have you at least tried to make a *real* game? i mean, i am not a developer on kong, but i do study c++ and java. i know a bit of game design and i know that half of the games that get flames could be avoided with a simple "try your game first".
you speak of giving incentive to developers, but half of the games i played here recently don't have even a different idea. they are, most of the times, just a simple plain game that someone used to practice programing. of course they will receive flames. if you are going to make a game, have something different. if you are just training, think twice before posting it.
and if you stick with releasing it, learn to take critics.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Really? Took ya 3 minutes to make this? Thats crap.... http://www.kongregate.com/games/Aerys/mutebutton-2-litterbox-hero Heres a game I made in 5 minutes. If youre gonna make a crappy fake game, at least put some quality into it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Lame.
But seriously, some of the stuff posted on Kong is straight tutorial stuff, some is full of bugs that a few minutes testing would have revealed, and some stuff is just plain bad. Whining about comments doesn't help. Making better games helps.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This doesn't change my view that their should be a top kong and a 'in progress' kong where games that haven't been tested (functional, enjoyable, etc) can be posted freely.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If newb developers can't take criticism then they prob need to find something else to do. As a programer (not games), I know my work isn't perfect and I need feedback. I ignore criticism that isn't constructive.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i'm not a developer (i can't create anything), but i do feel your pain. i'm sure this will be flamed itself. i always try to point out the good stuff about peoples' first attempts
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
P.S. Not a flame - I agree with your overall sentiment. I'm just not sure this is an effective avenue to get taken seriously. And in the end, you need thick skin to deal with some folks wandering around the web. ;)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I was ready to put this down as overly sensitve drivel until the Karaoke. :) Seriously though, putting something up for public consumption is always going to be subject to often unfair scrutiny. If I could wave a magic wand and make internet trolls all nicey-nice I would, but until then you gotta expect some amount of B.S. from the anonymous.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Karaoke? Really? Still, its nice too hear from a developer that actualy speaks out but whats ironic is the fact that this game(I use that term lightley)will omst likely get flames ALOT. Also, you made some spelling errors in the thing too(Don't worry, I made some myself in this post).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Perhaps starting developers would get a better reception if they tried to make something decent for their first game. They seem to think that making a maze game, dressup game, tetris clone, etc. and labeling it as "my first game" means that they can get away with posting that crap. If more starting developers actually put some effort into it, like this : http://www.kongregate.com/games/cinkyhu/the-frog-prince then maybe they would find a better reception.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
As a developer myself, i totally agree with this. I try my hardest, yet people keep flaming my games. People that probably couldnt make a title for a game. weird.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I've noticed that the comments on Kong are rapidly approaching the level of discourse one expects on YouTube. I'm not a programmer myself, but I think the whole community is best served by constructive criticism.
Also, not a game. 1/5.
