Flash End-of-Life, Ruffle Integration!
This game runs on Adobe Flash. Effective Jan. 2021, Adobe began blocking its flash player's use everywhere. Kongregate is now partnering with Ruffle to make some of our Flash content playable again. Please note: If you are using Ruffle, badges will not work normally. In order to earn a badge in a Flash game, you will need to complete the badge, then submit a screenshot (showing both proof of completion and your username) as a missing badge report using the report missing achievement option. Also, please join us in the Kongregate Discord for all the latest Kongregate news!

**UPDATE***
If the game is not working for you, it might be because it's making an external text call. You can download an older version of the swf (with no external text call) directly here: http://reality-tunnels.com/gods_assassin.swf
It should be playable with this Flash player here: https://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html
Please send me a private message if you still can't get the game working!

A text-based "Choose Your Own Adventure"-style interactive fiction game loosely based on a novel I've been writing and rewriting for about 17 years. So if you ever find yourself thinking, "Wow, this reads like it was written by a 13-year-old," well, you're not far off!
It's set in the same universe as Thousand Dollar Soul; you don't need to read that one first, but if you did, you'll probably notice a few small crossover elements.
Those who are easily offended should be warned that God's Assassin pokes fun at religious concepts pretty mercilessly. If you're curious as to what my real beliefs are, you can learn more than you ever cared to know at we-are-1.net.

Click options and get an ending! Then use the back buttons to get different endings, and try to figure out what the hell is going on.

It's quite interesting to play this game in the year it takes place in, 2020. It's surprisingly accurate.

I would like to get all the endings, but at the same time I'm often just too incapable of making my fictional avatar do the things required to get them. It was already difficult enough gritting my teeth and telling other me to call the police (I've seen movies before, I'm not stupid), now you're expecting me to grab the parachute and let the otter and kitty (and I guess the hot chick) die? I can't do this man, I'm still recovering from having to publicly admit to wanting to read victoria's secret. It's too much pressure!

It would not have been possible for me to write this without the inspirational influence of Terry Pratchett. When I first stumbled across the quote that's now in the loading screen, I hadn't even started writing this draft yet, but it just fit so perfectly with what I wanted to say that I knew I had to open with it. I even decided to add an otter character to the story purely because of that quote. RIP, Terry Pratchett -- you may be gone today, but your impact on this world will never be lost.

Holy crap, it's finally live! I've been working on this stupid story for more than half my life. I hope you enjoy it -- please leave comments!
