Under rating threshold (show) I had no memory of what Company of Myself was while playing Fixation. Now I remember it's that fantastic game with the sad story. Both are excellent and challenging

Under rating threshold (show) I sure hope eat911 is right, because after playing fixation and coming back to beat this once again, that comment shocked me very badly, I almost cried. What I do find weird is the ending of fixation, its as if the overdose stuck for as long as the game lasted... Or maybe he "kill" her and he got this mental illness which made him forget? I don't know, its confusing, and its what makes it a great story, actually hard to make into something real, but I'm sure the autor will be good enough to come up with something, if he makes an explanation...

Under rating threshold (show) I find it very unlikely that Jack killed Kathryn. Jack believed that he was responsible for Kathryn's death but he did not think that he killed here. It is likely that he overdosed on his 'medication' and ended up disappearing from Kathryn's life for a while. This is supported by the fact that he says "I did not realize... how much she needed me." Because we know that Kathryn had a smoking problem that was directly related to her emotional state, it is likely that Jack's disappearance would have worsened her smoking problem, possibly being the cause of her death. It is likely that her being dead when Jack returned as the reason for his guilt. The flowers that he planted next to her grave in the backyard were probably because he remembered her saying that she wanted to make the backyard nicer

Under rating threshold (show) you can see the comparison between this and Fiation - in this game Jack was able to make copies of himself (by pressing spacebar), and in Fixation he called it a magic trick and many copies were on the same level.

Under rating threshold (show) I'm Spanish and it's difficult to understand everything quickly, but i'm striving for understand the two stories, i'm really impressed by these incredibles games. I completed it 3 times each one and i understand that Jack didn't kill Kathryn, only left her behind and his "meds" turn him in schizophrenic and he thinks he killed the only thing that made him feel in "the meadow" without cheat by reach the green box, and he blames himself for choose the drugs instead of her... Repeat! I'm Spanish and is possible that i didn't understand everything very well... But definetively these game have marked me a before and after in how see these things! BRAVO!

Under rating threshold (show) I don't think Jack killed her deliberately at all. I think he took too many of his "meds" which is what lead him to forgetting he had even done anything that day. The guilt and suffering this game shows him going through really makes it seem like because of his drugs, he did something he normally wouldn't and forgot. Then later, once he realized, he tried to do what he could to keep Kathryn in his life, completely falling in on himself. Then again, it could just be I refuse to accept Jack as a full villain and therefore I insist on rationalizing his actions so they're not completely sinister.

Under rating threshold (show) The ending comment doesn't dispute anything in the clinician's notes. Jack knows that he's talking to a "shrink," but he doesn't remember that he's talked to this person many times before, always telling the same story.

Under rating threshold (show) It seems to me like Jack knows exactly what's going on, and only puts up a front for the shrink, since obviously, thanks to the ending words, he knows that's exactly what he is. If Jack is sick, then he's stable enough to be aware of what's really going on, but suffering in his own way.

Under rating threshold (show) Having problems with this game not working correctly, not sure if it's the code, Kongregate or my computer, but I can't get past mission 5 because it messes up too much. (I know how to solve it). The game slows down either after the mission goes on for a while or after I get about 5 of myself doing things. Unplayable at mission 5. :( Sounds like a good game too.

Under rating threshold (show) Revisiting this game after Fixation, I have to say that I think Fixation is the greater work. Fixation builds up into a greater ending, and along the way introduces a greater number of interesting game mechanics, all of which are then incorporated into the final product. This game does that too, but there are fewer mechanics and they are less fully explored. I think perhaps many people say they like this game much better do so because this one came out first and they're nostalgic for another similar experience, while Fixation was a bit different. Not that that's a terrible thing--it's only possible because this game is great too. But I must say that people who say "Fixation doesn't even hold a candle to TCOM" are completely wrong--in my mind, both are wonderful, but Fixation is clearly superior.

Under rating threshold (show) I was playing this game again after Fixation, and when I got to the part in the tutorial where he creates the shadow of himself to stand on for the first time I stopped. I literally stopped and just stared at the screen. His multitasking is finally useful for something. The blending you have done with these two games is amazing.

Under rating threshold (show) Kat had problems, then met Jack. They both had problems. He was a good friend. It was mutual. Perfect. But there're 2 turns. He turned to drugs. She, to help. He was self medicated, trapped in his meadow. One day he saw Kat there. Unlike her, he would cheat to stay there. He couldn't stand Kat leaving his meadow. She moved on, got better. She not only left, she tried to help him out. He couldn't bear it. Thurs, maybe Friday, he had an overdose. He was too high to recall. Took a turn on the street, watched from the distance. Came and stopped her from taking his meadow. He woke up, didn't exactly recall how, but he had something to do with the death of his true meadow. He couldn't tell any1 what he did, because he couldn't remember; but like the poem; he was taken out of his situations, placed in his heaven, with only TCOHimself. His last deed was her last will, her garden pretty. What a better thing to put then the prettiest thing you had in it?

Under rating threshold (show) This is one of the best games, ever. I'm almost crying because of the story. The levels are really challenging, but I tried my best to do them just so I can see the story's end. I must say this deserved the "Best of 2009" award from Jayisgames. 5/5, favorited. *wipes tear*

Under rating threshold (show) After playing both games, i must conclude if to following the facts and possibly some illusory objects, Jack murdered Kathryn because after she fixed her problems (the issues in her house a.k.a life) she was moving on to the garden weeds (other peoples' issues a.k.a Jack) and this would have pulled him from his meadow of happiness. So he killed her, and afterwards realizing that she had become part of his meadow of happiness, he buried her among his problems. He struggles inward because his action has pulled him out of his meadow, and the drugs and psychology only remind him of the vivid place he has lost. I think he buried her in a green box to symbolize how she had become part of that haven. If not for the psychiatrist stating how Jack had killed Kathryn there is another possible explanation but this is following that fact.

Under rating threshold (show) After playing Fixation and then playing TCOM again... It seems as though he didn't really kill Kathryn but rather later on, on Thursday or Friday (not on Tuesday as Fixation says; maybe he wasn't completely hallucinating about the day), when they were working on her garden, or even at just some other separate time, she died somehow. He them blamed himself for everything and that lead to his final mental breakdown, which put him in solitary confinement. Maybe the section to the right really was just the way home. But that's just me. I wish I could 5/5 this game again.
