Great game, but it was too short to really appreciate the upgrades and such. I'll certainly be playing the "full" game once it comes out.

It's a decent start, and obviously a prototype as there are upgrades that are completely impossible to aquire. I can't give this a fair rating without the entire game, so 3/5. It looks good though, so I'll look forward to the full game.

Reminds me of the old school top-down shooters from the NES era. I really do enjoy the game, though it was a bit short. Definitely recommend adding several levels and expanding on the enemy variety and this game would be amazing. My main problem came with switching between weapons. For some reason it wouldn't go through switching quickly. If more content were added and that got fixed, I'd give it a 5/5. 4/5 for now though.

I think this could have been a great game however this is only a demo and i feel it should have been listed on either the title or in the description telling us that it is a demo. As a side note game would not allow me to move until i used one of my weapons.

Aww.. it's just a demo of the first level? The title should have announced that it was a demo. Also, how the hell did a demo get a badge?! I kind of liked the game, despite the flaws.

move slowly killing one enemy at a time. don't take huge risks. money can be spent at shops that I believe(could be wrong) works as checkpoints. Use missiles. keep on moving when they aim at you and look for safe spots.

So after beating the "boss" with my ammo completely exhausted, I went back to refill so I'd be ready for the next level. Joke's on me!

To upgrade/spend money, before the bridge to the final area, there is a square turret like enemy down and left a bit of the bridge. It is the only enemy of its kind and after it dies, an upgrade shop opens up and you enter it.

Is anyone else having truoble with the badge of the day? ive beaten the game on standard and it still has not given me the badge.

This is the game I was looking for from the day I was born! I always wanted this "grab a tank, kill them all from a top-down view" game. With intelligent key-mapping, quite a good graphics and awesome playability, this is The Game. You just completed one of my childhood dreams! Thx, developer!

I like this game a lot, but it is so short and I have beaten it multiple times and no achievments or badge of the day yet? what the hell is up with that?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I reloaded, and got the badge even before the game finished loading, despite not getting it upon completion. Did you get that medal thingy as in the picture of the badge at the end?

FREAKING AWESOME but something you should add is a targeting rectile that follows the mouse instead of just using the mouse to point at enemys

What does increasing tracks do? I thought if I upgraded them I could climb the rocks and everything. Maybe fly. Oh well.

on elite mode, wishing i could use the rifle without having to use up absolutely all of the ammo, and save my cannon rounds till after i destroyed that gate,

small detail: good thing the game pauses when I click somewhere outside the screen, however it cost me 1 bullet for continuing the game (due to click in screen)..and I do really need that 1 bullet in hard mode..

I'm the sort of player who loves to find a game that is both fun and challenging. So, of course, the first thing I did after reading the manual was dive right into Elite mode. A few failed attempts later I gave Veteran a go, to see the sights and get the layout ahead. After completing that game, I was disappointed to find that my cash and upgrades carried over to Elite. This may seem odd, but considering the challenge warnings Elite carries, being able to wear that challenge away by grinding easier modes... I hope that won't carry over to the full version. You may even consider setting a limit for purchased ammunition at each checkpoint, at least for Elite, to maintain the scarcity that contributes to the challenge of Elite mode. That nitpicking aside, this is a fun game, both familiar and standout as far as tank shooters go. It offers a number of promising features which could really blossom with just a tad more polish, though it is already quite good in its current form.
Thanks for your well thought out critique. the carry over is for this version. part 1 will have a save slot function. Currently i think its impossible to complete elite mode without upgrades. -Leigh

Your developer response about running out of development cash caught my eye. This game is to fun to pass up, So i decided to donate $25. I hope you listen to the top comments suggestions and use the money to help get monsters and munchies for those late nights spent making the first part the best!!!!!!!!!!

I think that there should be a distinction between armored targets and non-armored targets. By this, I mean to say that I felt the Machine Gun was totally overpowered. I found no reason to use the cannon at all because its damage was just too low for its rate of fire to outdo the machine gun against any target. To remedy this, I feel that the machine gun should be largely ineffective against armored targets such as tanks and turrets, but effective against infantry.
interesting. i always use mortars. Did you figure out holding fire button down shoots them further? -Leigh . . . . . I find this interesting too, as I find myself using the cannon most often: even though the machinegun is my favourite, I still find it lacking most of the time especially compared to the upgraded cannon. -Onur

It's either too long for a tutorial, or too short for a game. I can see your goal to test the game and gauge its reception, but I feel I couldn't rate it as high as it would deserve because it's in the middle of the road. Do improve it by extending it and maybe by breaking the mission into shorter chunks with interim goals. And add a mission progress bar. It has a lot of potential for being a great game!

Ah, interesting. I hadn't noticed the commando portions. Then again Iron Tank was just building on SNK's previous works. Er wait, no, that's from Capcom. Ok still lost then. :Þ
Regardless I hope the full game has branching paths and some different megatanks to do battle with. And maybe some little POW guys to rescue.

I work hard to destroy everything at the enemy base, ending up without any ammo. Then I go back to the checkpoint to prepare. I go to the end of the level. Prologue complete! End of game... Rawr.

I absolutely love this game. It was one of the first flash games I ever played as a kid, and without it, I probably wouldn't be as happy with games as I am now. Everything about it is fantastic - from the random height of the rocks to the different weapons to the enemy variety to the upgrades. Attention to detail is absolutely n o i c e. 11/10
