if you struggle on the third mission attack the enemy right away and let them send all their men at you, don't send any back then once they are done send all yours and you win in 1 turn :D rate up so others can see this comment

I like the balance, although hunters tend to murder everything in the later levels just because of the sheer number of passive upgrades that apply to them.

great game: good story, campaign feel, upgradable troops, tough enough to be challenging but beatable (last mission I managed to destroy the "unstoppable" imperial force which counted as a win:) ) I just wish there was a sequel

There lacks some balance. If you are struggling, just build armory and upgrade power and health for knights and hunters. Make sure to have enough troops though. Hunters will do most of the work for you. Knights better for taking out the turrets. Although you should leave up their turrets as long as possible since no new troops can spawn when they are there. Enemy troop poo will still decrease for sending units into that lane though. Cheers.

A more efficient strategy than that is to send a crusader to the bottom lane and two hunters on the top and middle lane. on later levels I loved crusaders too, but to not run out on mission 4 you need to conserve crusaders for the end where their strength really matters

Strategies for all levels part 1/3:1:Pretty straightforward,2:idem,3:Attack the enemy straight away and let their troops reach your camp,then,TTDR for them.

If anyone is having trouble on mission 9 : Inner Sanctum, it's actually very easy to beat. Each stage only has 3 hp, so what you do is send these units from bottom to top : Crusader, Hunter, and Knight. You have to do it very fast (use hotkeys) so they will reach the end before the enemy can get out their troops. Also, sending out the knight is a bit risky since it's slower, so use a couple of Crusaders as a substitute if you're not confident.

The secret mode that is unlocked after all the mission are done with a star is *spoiler alert* the ability to use ancient mode. This is when you can use the weird monsters that you have fought in previous mission in mission. =P

Just finished mission 10 with both awards. When in doubt, use hunters. Also, a helpful note to those who never built the cathedral because priests tend to be weak units: The second upgrade also effects hunters, and it's very powerful.

a handy tip is to decide what units you'll use for the mission and get upgrades to bolster your tactics, you should ALWAYS get weaponry and cold steel though.

It annoys me that every time my men get slaughtered putting up no fight against a unit that should die to it... crusader fights knight= barely win crusader fights royal guard=one hit kill crusader fights hunter=two hit kill

@rave239723: Well, the game doesn't solely rely on the rating for badges, it also relies on how many people add to favorites, rating, and, of course, what the badges would be. Keep this comment alive and for another thing, i will copy rave's comment:

Why does this game have such a low rating? Good voice acting, a decent story, surprising depth, a fine combat dynamic... this is basically a tremendous upgrade to all those crappy "press a button to send a troop across a 2D map from your castle to the enemy castle" games which are--for some unknown reason--consistently rated above 4.00 (e.g. Epic War and friends).

Good game, I found troop spawning a little random, the classes unbalanced and I can't say I was a big fan of the inbetween scenes, but the concept is good nevertheless. A decent game which deserves a badge or two. 3.5/5

This game was really well made and still has a lot of potential in it....it had a deep strong story and the strategy in how you fight was beyond great, I don't know of many strategy games that are free and online that have many great back stories......give me a thumbs up if you agree!

hunters are a waste on top lane at beginning, use priests or soldiers, *i use priests, because I find them inefficient as troops* to conserve your hunters

why don't people understand that it needs a good rating to get badges? don't give the game a bad rating because it has no badges that's very unintelligent
