I enjoy the challenge of trying to solve a puzzle while also frantically running away from zombies. I only wish there was a pause button. There's nothing more frustrating than being at 400 points and being called away from the computer.

would the developer please fix the code that counts the number of mines shown on a tile that was asploded by a zombie. personally i'd prefer that no numbers were shown at all on a mine tile, it's a mine tile ;)

Anyone still trying to get the 500 point badge, I had the best luck on the Speed Run side, last level, "Run Like Heck". Mine density is real low, ammo drops are abundant, but there are a lot of mobs to avoid. By the time I hit the end I had 600 some points.

@GunWraith: you misplaced the flag to the right of the 4, there were no mine there. The mine was on the 4 indeed. BOOOM!

I was just killed because a square said there were 2 mines next to it, but there were actually 3. Screenshot for proof: http://i.imgur.com/4hhYS.jpg

Ok, the game is good. But there is this annoying bug that sometimes mines that explodes counts themselves when they become a number, and sometimes they not.
That doesn't let me finish the last level =x

Great game. I really enjoyed playing. For the sweep star badge, I got it on the level Sweep This! I just took my time early on while it was easy marking every mine and letting zombies walk into them. In the narrow areas when lots of zombies spawned i found it better to backtrack to a more open area and most of the time a few of the zombies would walk into the mines connected to the open area and gave me .more room to run and not get bottle necked as much. This is now on my favorites.

Badge to be earned
Sweep Star Badge ( hard ~ 30 points ) 500 Points Scored – This must be done in a single game. [Best so far: 447] got bored and gave up =/ 3/5

Nice to have two modes that reward you stars for different reasons: Speed Play for time spent and Puzzle Play for the amount of marked mines. The zombies do give it an interesting twist and make an awesome setting. The only issue I have is that Minesweeper itself can be frustrating when you're nearly complete and a mine destroys your entire progress. It'd be great if there was a power up that allowed you to survive one mine. Also, the wolves are very difficult to avoid if you have no shells. All in all though, it's a good twist to a Windows 95 game. 4/5

I want this music... it's so great. I just wish there was a "peaceful mode" or maybe a easy mode in puzzle where I can enjoy it a little more.

Solid mix of minesweeper and action. A problem however is speed play is infinitely more fun than puzzle play. A few times during puzzle play a glitch occurred where mines had completely blocked my path, meaning puzzle play is broken to an extent. Overall though speed play saved the game for me. 4 out of 5 stars!

For the hard badge, try puzzle play "sweep this!". It's usually quite wide open. Take your time and dont waste bullets/bombs. The wolf eventually commits suicide if u keep evading him. Just stay calm and walk known paths where u can escape in more than one way so that u dont get trapped. Another thing, walk the edges for bonus points. Use items only when absolutely neccesary. Also, stall enemies like wolf getting near so he tries to bite and inmediately go away, u wont lose life and u'll buy some time to think ur next move. Doing this and marking all the mines, u'll get to 500 points before even reaching half way in this one with no sweat.

This game seems to be running into an issue that often comes up in games; the difference between something being difficult and frustrating. Something that's difficult makes you want to keep trying until you beat it, and that, even when you lose, is still somewhat enjoyable and you can say "Well, I'll do _ differently next time"...frustrating is when you play something, and when you lose you just want to say "screw this" and quit. That would be what this is. Things like if I start and a wolf spawns I may as well restart, or when I see a blown up mine that says '1', and all the other mines like it counted themselves, but this one didn't for some reason and I got blown up, or when enemies are avoiding mines in the middle of the field that I haven't even gotten to yet and are invisible to me and yet they avoid with ease. Those things aren't difficult. They're frustrating.

Yeah...I have to agree with the wolf thing. If they're going to follow you around mercilessly, barely giving you a second to breath, then you should be able to lead them into mines. Having them just step around them is ridiculous, since it's basically a death sentence if you're not lucky enough to be loaded with ammo, especially considering that then while you're running around in circles other zombies keep spawning up, not the least of which being more wolfs, so even if you're lucky and another zombie blows em' up chances are by that time there will be another anyways. On top of it, I thought they were mindless zombies so why exactly would they know the concept of not stepping on a mine?

First off, let me just say this game is incredible. I've liked minesweeper since I was a kid, and I've always loved zombies. Putting them together is one the best ideas anyone's had. The 'only' problem I have with this game is when a zombie steps on a mine that has already been flagged. There seems to be inconsistency when it comes to whether or not the number on that exploded square 'counts' that square itself in the number or not. I've been pretty deep into a hefty field of mines, only to be screwed over by not knowing whether or not the number in the exploded mine counts itself or not. Please, explain in the instructions if it counts or not, because I've seen instances where it has and hasn't. It's a small blemish on an amazing game, and it's bugged me since I started playing.

It will be a good game. But PUZZLE mode is ruined by all the f****** zombies.... Why do you let us choose speed and puzzle mode when its all speed mode? You have to reconsider it...

This is awesome! I don't really understand the scoring though. I raced through a level with a really good time, and got a much lower score than when I dilly-dallied.

Two things that bother me: 1) The fact that you can lay down incorrect flags and get credit for clearing a non-existent mine. 2) Every so often, I get a level where the mines lay across the path so that its impossible to cross.

do you honestly think ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLL people, even japanese / russian / german / asian people, do speak English and grammars, vsps7? -__-
Besides, that offends me a big time. thank you, vsps7.

Badges are pretty easy.. for hard just play the Storm before Calm. Its not hard at all with a lil bit of mouse movement speed.

Never mind with my previous comment. What i was actually saying is... Frogtoss, I wonder why can werewolf-zombies SEE me? it's IMPOSSIBLE for zombie to SEE anything and know where mine locations are to avoid step over (high chance)... and it's kinda... cheated their own game against players, huh? you need LESSEN their visions / knowledges to balance this up, =(

Is anyone else having this problem. When you beat/fail a level the score screen comes up, but no button to click?! I have to F5 the page and start all over.....

I liked the game and music a lot, but i wish i could have had a character that i could have taken a little more seriously

speed play = puzzle play
zombies + mines = zombies + mines
so only the thing that changes is the rating about speed or accurate?
and that dont gain points...
for me is the same only have zombies if you only can kill if you have luck...
in puzzle I played more than 5 times and appeared a place that you have to trust your luck... because isnt posibilities to discover, only trying
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
you can flag any unmarked square of grass, they don't need to be mines, just as long as you haven't found that they aren't mines on that square

she discover where the mine is and the monster can explode and hit her? why cant throw a rock and explodes? classic game + zombies = crazy game... why the zombies doesnt like her brains '-'?

i love this. great reworking of a classic favourite. and i like thats its not birds eye, it makes it more challenging you have to look more. but one thing that i notice other people have picked up on... about there being too difficult to get rid of some monsters. i agree, and think the best solution is more shells, not less monsters.
