Aye :). Right now, I'm testing out a new system to automatically find new comments instead of having to manually check every game every day to see if there is a new comment, so hopefully can soon do even more responses :)
Vsauce is a YouTube personality who gets hundreds of thousands of views in his "DONG" (Do Online Now Guys) series. I didn't know about him myself until a friend sent me a link to a video of his where he mentions this game. You can see my comment above for the link to the video if you want. Glad you enjoyed it :)
There have been so many avoider games done, I'd actually be surprised if it didn't remind someone of something. In reality, the only inspiration I had for making the game was that it seemed simple to make (since this was my first game ever) :P.

Simple game but fun. Good time-waster. Easy-to-Understand. Just the game i was looking for. I enjoyed it. :D. I just wish I saw this a little sooner.

Your views are about to reach heights, I played on kong for a long time and didnt know about this game, but its kinda really cool.

BTW, if you make a YT video of playing the game, please let me know. I enjoy watching reactions to those who played it. Helps me to learn what was liked or not liked, as well as what causes confusion. Thanks :)
I'm glad you like it :). If you check my profile, you can find all 8 games I've made thus far (hoping to release the 9th on Friday). In fact, this game has a sequel, The Lonely Square (see link in game news). If you want to be notified when I make a new game, please just let me know, and I'll add you to my PM list :).

Little problem in mode 2, when you go in the bottom-right corner, you become almost invincible, now i have the world record.
Aye, unfortunately, the file was lost in a computer crash, so there isn't anything I can do about it. Various people have been able to do insanely well in mode 2. Just as an FYI, you don't have the full #1 best. ChronicDeath beats you out there. When I uploaded the game a while back, I thought the red/blue walls would make a big difference. After I realized that it didn't, I made the "overall best" ones, but the original scores did not carry over. He's the only one though.

Very addicting game, congrats! I'm from the Vsauce army, hope the rest of you guys won't swipe my name off the top scores :p

BTW, for anyone wondering what the vsauce reference is about, my game was featured here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_nHZ3YGT3w&feature=context-gfa :)

Would be cool to have 4 squares controlled by different people over the internet or 2 squares controlled by mouse and WASD

Thank you all for your support. This game is now the second highest rated Stencyl game on Kongregate :D, only topped by its sequel.
Thanks for the idea, but I don't have an XBOX nor a license to submit games there... I also don't think it's convertible. I'm glad you enjoyed it though :)

PLEASE NOTE: I am no longer going to be checking on the comments for this game. If you have a comment, please send me a PM instead, else it might be a long time before I can get back to you. Please + this so others can see it too. Thank you.

For your next avoider type game, two person would be good. Also, I noticed in this that you cannot move up-right, only up OR right. Please fix this!
Llama, TLS is indeed two-player compatible. Also, I don't know what is going on with the controls... they work for me... can you give me more details... I tried both WASD and arrows and both worked...

My point is, players usually don't go close to enemy spawn points, therefore they will never touch the walls, or least when ~4 spawn points are active, and I don't see anyone wallhugging near enemy spawn points, and it's also impossible to hide behind a spawn point. Again, I rated this 5 and favorited it =p
I agree that it no longer makes sense, but back in the original game (the original original), wall-hugging was the best way to get a highscore, so I put it in and haven't had the heart to take it out :P. Thanks for the 5 and favorite :)
This is actually my first Stencyl game and I wanted to update it over time but still keep the original feel. When I first programmed it, I didn't realize that I could make walls that simply keep you in bounds without killing you :P. Now you can use blue walls if desired (they don't kill you).
Thank you :). It's best played when you get an entire room competing for top scores. We once did that and it was nonstop addiction for about an hour :D

You could make a mode where you control two squares at once, one with WASD and the other with arrows. And I like the idea of it being a mini-game within the game. By the way, I just started with Stencyl too. I've only made one game and it kinda sucks but I'm working on two more and I'm getting the hang of it!
Brooks, there is a two-player mode in my second game, The Lonely Square. I am planning to have all parts of my third game have the option of 2-player. Also, you may want to check out my tutorials on Stencyl if you are just getting started. I have two completed so far. The first is here: http://www.kongregate.com/games/Abigayl/stencyl-tutorial-first-game

It's easy to see how much work the developer put in. It may seem like a simple game, but making it so that it launches enemies somewhat randomely is actually quite hard.
Thanks, I'm glad you can see my effort. The trickiest part for the launching code was dealing with all of the conditionals (each spawn location needs to spawn in different directions).

After playing a few games I rated it a 4/5 20+ games later I had to fix my rating to a 5/5 For a simple game it really get's addictive lol. Great work!
:D. It's not the only one! Try to hit mode 1, mode 3, blue, red, and even the "game over" off ;)
(AKA, they ALL can get hit just right to fall off the screen :P)

Well...a few problems, and tips. The system seems a little too jumpy, and could do with a downgrade on the speed of the box/nukes. The nukes seem to spawn in clusters around 700, and typically right next to the box, making dodging close to impossible. Could do with some music, and I'd suggest something slow at first, and then faster later on. Otherwise, fairly good, but could do with a few upgrades/improvs, and possibly a few downgrades. I'll support ya, and maybe give tips, but otherwise, keep at the learning and work.

Yay,I got all blue highs..yet again(this time 1 and 2 by a hefty bit).Though the only thing wrong I've encountered is that when I get about three or four high scores, the score resets ingame, every time I get a gameover and doesn't save. Not sure if this is the game or Kongregate. Please check that out if you get the chance(happened a couple times yesterday when I beat some of the previous scores).Still deserves a smiley.. -> :D

Yay,I got all blue high scores(I like blue..)!Still nice, simple, definitely addictive on my part.I've been playing this for hours. 4/5 Hell I'll even through in a smiley.. -> :D
Glad you liked it! I have lost some about an hour myself to it (for fun, not testing). It's definitely addictive :P. Thanks for the 4!
BTW, MX just beat you out in every score ;)
Let me know what help you need. I can help with debugging/suggestions, but I don't write code for others (primarily because I use a lot of universal attributes which you can't copy).

Well - There is not much to learn in Stencyl. I would say if someone really want to make games with Flash. Learn AS3.
Aye, AS3 is the better way. What people don't realize is that you can use and learn AS3 in Stencyl. My games require additional codes not found native in Stencyl, so I have had to broaden into AS3 for parts. Still keeps the primary coding much faster though. It's a tool to be used, not to be depended upon (as I have seen many do).

Well you have done a great job. Will surely like to play the expanded version. :)
Thanks, just used that to try to help a fellow developer who is using CS5. Since I did mine in Stencyl, that's all a bit too much dry coding for me ;) (in Stencyl, the majority of the code is done via drag-and-drop pieces that snap into place, a rather ingenious system IMO). Might be helpful once I get to the preloader and music. Thanks again :)

This game is good but I just saw a tutorial on a game like this "Avoider Game".
did you made it from the tut? Just asking :). Good game.
Not in the least. I made it totally from scratch. Actually, what is that "Avoider Game"... might get me some ideas for some last-minute tweaks in my expanded version.

This is a ver fun game even how simple it is .... i look forward to more, you have the right idea for a game and I happed to have my own music playing in the background when i came across it so it made it even more fun ....I just like this type of playstyle
I'm glad you liked it :). For my expanded version, I tried to keep the simplicity while adding a lot of features. It's a tricky balance but I hope you will enjoy it too :)
