WARNING!!! Anyone going for the badges, be sure to play STORY MODE, and not free play. I made the mistake of playing free play and spend 17 minutes going 100,000ft looking for mars in never ending space on day three. Save yourself the time and sanity and + so others can learn from my failure...

Launch your hedgehog (pull it to the bottom part of the screen) hope you get about $1000 on your first launch, buy the level 2 radar and the level 1 fuel sucker, spend the remaining money on fuel tank, on 2nd day it will be much easier to get money, just hit as many platforms as you can and you should be able to get about $9000, buy the last level of fuel sucker and radar, spend the remaining money on the fuel tank then the rockets, then the launcher, on the 3rd day as long as you don't run out of platforms it should be easy, you should never run out of fuel, if you can't see any platform just go full thrust left and you should hit one pretty soon getting you back on track, if you have to choose platforms colors always choose: purple, then yellow, then green, last blue. Got the hard badge on about 15th try.

I took a long time but I did it. I got the Mars badge, however I think it is a way to low number for reaching it. I mean 3 days really, it takes NASA much longer to do that and they have billions of dollars on them. It becomes more of a luck badge than anything.

At the very last instants, purple platforms saved me on Day 3. Phew! I went with upgrading the very first upgrade twice and the second and third ones (up at top) once each. Then, ya hope for a good chunk of platforms and money to start showing up your way. If you're lucky, you can get up to over $1000 on just the first day. Once this happens, get an emergency rocket and upgrade radar and very first upgrade, as well as fuel tank if enough money. Then just blast through the next day or two and boom! Hard badge accomplished.

If this hedgehog is smart enough to build himself a rocket, why does he not launch himself from the right side of the planet?!?!?!?!?

Game is awful, and the badge of the day is based on luck, not skill. There is nothing appealing here. Whoever chose this as badge of the day needs a stern talking to.

In 9 / 10 cases there are no platforms at all after launching, so that you fall down like a stone (even with steering a bit) and day over. No money earned. Rinse and repeat. Great game...

Trick to getting Hard Achievement: Put 2 in height, 1 in fuel. Reset until you get a lucky run, (you want to get purple coins and a good amount of launch time/height).
Put 2 in radar, 3-4 in fuel sucker, rest in fuel tank, remaining into height.
Pull down to bottom of screen for max height launch (even though you go down and bounce, you get more height from pulling down)
You can get a good day 1 run and finish on day 2 easily.

The trick to getting money isn't gathering the coins, it's maxing out the time before you hit the ground. You get an increase of x1 for every 10 seconds you're in the air, so using the rocket thrusters to keep hitting bounce pads and stay in the air longer is the way to rack up the most money at once.

I finally made it to the Mars in 3 days.
Although i hate this game, ill give some tip to get hard badge.
1.) Try to hit as many platforms as possible, especially those green or better platforms, also keep yourself in air as long as possible, I got like $6k doing this on day 1.
2.) On upgrading Launcher, focus mostly on height and band, upgrade width if you have extra money that cant be spent on any other upgrades.
3.) Buy the e-rocket at day 2 if possible cuz it will help alot, and only focus upgrading one of your rockets for better horizontal movement( since platforms are too far from each other, moving horizontally would really help hitting platforms). Changing directions are not that helpful anyway so only focus on 1 rocket.

Even Easy badge seems impossible to be achieved: in first 12 days I got 0 money 9 times, so it's impossible to upgrade. I don't like this game

14 days np. I had several completely wasted days up front, so it feels like I could get a little luckier and hit 10 or 9 or something-- but 3? defo "impossible" badge that shit

For hard badge, day 1 is luck dependent. But you MUST buy lv3 radar and at least one level of fuel sucker - aka get at least 1200$ in first day. Day 2 is way easier, you just find platforms and hit them; if you don't reach Mars in day 2 then just use money you got in day 2 for E-rockets, maxed fuel sucker, more fuel and rocket thrusts - day 3 will be super easy

Perhaps I'm missing something, but success in this game seems to be due more to luck than strategy or even upgrades. It's just a bit.. random. Needs work.

the hard badge is just based on pure luck, and it all matters in the first day; i got lucky and managed to end up with $7,000+ after the first day, and made it to mars on day 2, you just have to keep retrying and get lucky. @geromatic123's method of getting more horizontal velocity helps too!

This is possibly the most TEDIOUS game I have every played on Kongregate. If you miss the first platform, or they're all weak blue ones, it takes ages to accomplish anything. I've played previous versions of this game, none have the grinding slowness of this one.

@ArusDaryl: Actually, for space flight radar IS more important than being able to see things in the normal visual spectrum. Astronauts simply can't see well enough things that are thousands of miles away, while radar will show everything important. This makes the part where radar is more important than the screen a logical idea. Now, just need to deal with the logical part of sending a hedgehog into space...

I legitimately don't know why the hard badge isn't an impossible one. Just I'd love to see someone do the hard badge 10 times in a row to prove it is skill and not luck that dictates this game. Maybe there's a pattern to the boosts? Just not a pattern repeated every time at least.

Let me get this right....the government can fund you to drill a hole through the center of the Earth, yet they can't afford some cash to give your hedgehog a rocket of better launch system?!?!?!?!

"... In other news tonight, residents of Nebraska have reported that a quote ' 10-foot tall hedgehog with a jet pack' end-quote has been flying out of a hole that recently appeared in the middle of a corn plantation. The government of Minovia Cay issued a letter to the White House shortly after, saying 'WE DONT KNOW WHAT THAT WAS.' "

Utterly terrible game with serious balancing issues. First few days are nearly blind luck; restart if you need to.
Day one: buy fuel, left & right rockets, and height. To launch, drag the hedgehog down to the pause button and release. Once you clear the surface, gently steer with left/right arrow. Try and hit platforms. Those will bounce you up a little. Try to snag coins. Coin score is multiplied by a figure based on run height & duration.
Your goal is to get $400 in the first few days to buy radar 2. It lets you see ALL the platforms. From that point, you can bounce around longer & earn enough money to buy more fuel. Once you do that, more left/right rockets so you can get to more platforms faster. At this point, the game becomes ridiculously easy. Get other upgrades as your money allows. E-rocket is "nice to have", since it can shoot you back up when you risk falling down to oblivion.
Made Mars in 11 days. Good luck and don't let this game get to you.

YAY I reached MARS!
Wait a minute...
IT'S DAY 4! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
