I think that using the Kraken should not negate from your star rating, if your able too collect enough oil too use it then thats all it should need..

I dislike when someone compares games like this to games that just came out a couple years ago. These games have been around for over 10 years. Get over it. PvZ was not original.

This would be amazing game if it weren't so, well, not. Great style, great concept, but when you start playing it, you notice a lot of cracks in the veneer. If a tutorial bubble (or new enemy description) pops up when the build menu is open, it ends up underneath, and you will never see it. I was using shift and space at the start of a level, and it got stuck in fast-foward. And the birds--my god those damn birds. So many issues with those stupid things: Catapults refusing to target them after they've dropped their payload, even after they come back down. Birds skipping obstacles and then bombing empty squares. Birds bombing the same square over and over and over again. It's actually a good thing that they have movement glitches, because the horrid targeting often makes them nigh-invincible once they start blowing up your stuff. I want to love this game--I really do, but I wouldn't expect anything out of alpha-stage to glitch out on me this much within about 20 minutes of playing.

This game is okay, but for the love of all that is expected, speed up the cut-scenes. This is so painful. The first time I use Kraken, the storyline is unbearable.

took the kraken 10 minutes to summon (laggy!!!) so i stopped playing at that point. don't have this problem with any other flash games, so i suspect its with the coding. please fix!

Boring soulless game. Needs more storyline or something... at least PvZ had some kind of girth rather than wave after wave after wa...*yawn* ...zzZzz...

The difficulty does get a little too high :/ the first few rounds should not require you to upgrade your cannons and everything. I can only get so many oil rigs before i have to start upgrading, and because i'm spending so much on weapons and replacing them i cannot seem to build more rigs. Of course i cannot win at this point ):'
Its a lot like plants vs. zombies, and i felt they did a good job at balancing the waves to allow a chance to build up. i also find it tedious to go over across the map to collect my oil :'

Difficulty ramps up way too quickly. Second non-tutorial island and you have to build oil rigs AND three different cannon types AND catapults...for the first wave! Seems like it could be fun, but tone it down a bit. Since you lose stars for using the kraken, you need to make it so we don't have to kraken spam just to get through the first level.

holy cow, 1st non tutorial island has double powerewd monsters and the intial wave is a full on onslaught. I havent been able to get past it

i was going to give this game 4/5 after the tuturial however the first level alone was set on impossible difficulty. you dont get enought time to build right towers for everything, also just because its only a plain tower without upgrades doesnt mean it should do almost no damage to something. 3/5 from me.

GLITCH Endless loop bird!!!!! if a bird gets past your defenses it keeps dropping bombs on the same spot forever. The kraken does not kill birds!? the pirate tries to shoot it but always misses.

Way too tough to deal with the later levels. Enemies come too thick before you can build up any defenses, and you need to be able to upgrade cannon strength instead of just building more farther and farther out.

Fun game but buggy. Used Krakken on level 4 and everything but the top row of buildings disappeared, and the framerate dropped to about 0.2

their is a bad glitch with the birds, if they should happen to be too far forward and miss thier target they will go into a cycle of flying up, coming down with the bomb, and throwing it at the empty space behind their target.
This can be quite annoying when you are unable to build a catapult and the dang pirate and pistol will never hit the bird. (and also it complected brakes the game cause I can just farm oil until I hit max and just build everything taking all challenge out of the game)

Ok I really dont understand why the first level has a ton of guys at the end of it. Since its a tutorial level i was just trying to get through it and wasnt expecting anything challenging when a massive wave of guys comes. I mean Im happy to have a challenge but its the freaking tutorial level and now I have to do it all over again and actually try this time. Dont care if this gets downrated just had to voice my frustration

its cute, entertaining, way too easy. build in blocks of 3x3 of tower types. Start off with 9 oil rigs and upgrade the ship first, followed by catapults and then cannons.

the birds are way too strong and the kraken takes way too long to summon to the point where he's unusable. in fact the game just feels slow in general, a long start up screen for every level, a long message screen in between every wave and the speed up function isn't that much speedy not to mention you have to hold the space bar all the time to use it instead of it being a toggle like in most defense games.

The Kraken was fantastic, it made me roll on the floor with laughter, and just because of it, I'm gonna give it 5 stars, and this is coming from someone who despises Defense games, seriously

Oooo k. The currency is oil, which we have no need for- and we sail around tempting marshmallow monsters to steal our treasure, which we dont want stolen. Rum is a hell of a drug, but I guess it beats the buggery and lash part of it...

If you double click when the Krakken is summoned and you dont have to listen to the song over and over........ The song is cool but seriously. I used the Krakken so much that it got annoying. Rate up so everyone doesnt have to listen to it! :)

why do the birds attack the same empty square over and over instead of progressing forward, and what can i do to defeat the birds if i have no squares to build on in between them and the ship. stuck in an infinite loop. bug?
