Who remembers Super Metroid on the NES? This is so obviously a very good modern retro rendition of that classic game. Kudos!

This. Is. Amazing. All the game atmosphere with its music, levels and watching the little turtle upgrading to the rainbow-spewing combo of snail and IndestructibleTank, all the recompleting and the boss fights, finished with epic Moon Snail showdown - that's all how the platformer about the snail should be. This deserves 10 5\5's from one player.

wow this snail can live both in water and land and can be equip with a pea shooter and it can jump wow....just wow.... i want one!!!! 5/5
Different keyboards have different key combos that you can't press at the same time. I guess you can't press up+right+x on yours, but you can customize the keys in the OPTIONS menu until you find keys that work for you. (It works for most people, but it's an issue in any game where you have to press several keys at once.)

enemies actually have stats. light blue blobs can only be killed by weapon 2 or higher, so if you find enemies with different coloring than usual, pey close attention since it usually means something's different about them.

with the final boss a better tactic when sleeping is to just hide in your shell. Your shield protects you from the Zs

anyone know what the deal is with the stag in one of the hidden rooms in the fire area? it doesn't damage you, you can't hit it, and it just hops around for a bit and then leaves in the opposite direction you came in o.O

For some reason, when I was almost done with the game, my weapon turned back into a pea shooter. Now I can't kill most things, and don't know how to change back.

One tip for people struggling with Boss Rush: I found that turning on Toggle shooting mode (from the Options menu) helps a lot -- it makes sure that you can be shooting 100% of the time, which is a big help.
