When I loaded this page I was thinking "What the hell is HELL Tetris?" Then I started a game and saw the shape of the screen and laughed my arse off. Excellent concept.

Game is made of solidified depression and, I am imagining, a 16-year-old game designer watching his 4-year-old cousin play Tetris.

IIX is right. The same thing happens with the 'S' and 'Z' blocks too, when they're horizontal (and you complete only one line).
What I can't work out is that because the intention is for the game to be hellish whether it's technically a bug or not ;)

There's a bug with how the L-shaped blocks dismantle when you make a line. If only a single square is left, it doesn't fall straight. It changes places. Highly confusing...

This is great. A year ago, XKCD caused YouTube to add the feature "Preview comment", and now, someone created the Hell Tetris clone. Thank you thank you thank you!
