Am I the only one that thinks it's weird that more cannons increases your weapon power while better bombs increases fire rate?

For the hard badge, max your loot and magnet (i.e. the 3rd and 4th upgrade of looting) at the beginning to get more money; then increase your speed. Make your self as weak as possible, dont upgrade your attack or fire rate. Use the increased speed to dodge enemies' attack, try to hit the enemies with higher hp (e.g. the blue shark and the small boat), in this way you are harder to kill enemies and your "boss arrival" bar fills slower, this means you have more time to see the treasure box, more treasure box = more money = more score. In conclusion: avoid killing enemies and always hit treasure box. Only upgrade your attack if you think there are too much enemies and bullets that you cant handle them anymore. Later sell the 3rd upgrade of looting to buy other upgrades. My final upgrades were 4th weapon, 4th fire rate, no speed upgrade, 4th looting, 3rd and 4th flags. I earned the hard badge in this way, hope it helps :)

"Game designed, programmed, hunted, tamed, crushed and eaten by (does anybody ever read this?) Simon Lachance a.k.a Lachhh" Props to you Lachhh, the game was so good I even enjoyed the credits.

HARD ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE:
1. Get to 3350 starting money.
2. Buy first Ship's Level, max level Pirate Flag, max level Loot Chest.
3. Try to move around so you kill a lot of enemies and collect money. Reach as many Chests as possible, but avoiding getting hit should take priority.
4. When you have enough money buy Ship's Level 2 and max level Weapon.
5. Now you get to the 2nd boss. Stay far away and avoid spinning orbs, then focus in on the boss.
6. Get Ship's Level 3 and max level Fire Rate.
7. You should be able to beat the final (storm) boss without getting hit more than 2 or 3 times. Just spin at the same speed that it does, so you're far away from his projectiles.
8. Fully upgrade your ship.
9. Try not to get cornered by the large ships. Don't kill them when there are a lot of other ships around, it's better to just evade. Collect as many Chests as possible.
10. Beat final boss 2nd time and you should have 30 000+ score.

HARD ACHIEVEMENT GUIDE: Ok i think i found the perfect strategy for hard badge, on start, buy better ship, lvl4 treasure and lvl4 flag, when you have enough money, buy better ship and lvl3 flag (yes, you can stack them), this gives you nice dmg, speed and loot, continue with buying lvl4 cannon and lvl4 fire rate, this makes the game really easy...i suicided after 3rd encounter with final boss, got over 50k score... +1 if it helped ;)

Did anyone else run up to the 3rd boss immediately after killing it to quickly claim your booty, when suddenly it bursts into flames with a skull and crossbones throwing twice the ammo out losing your last anchor?

I love the game, however... I wish I could buy health rather than obtain it by chance... Regardless, good job on the game.

(Fighting the final boss) So, this is the final boss? This will be hard...

(REAL final boss appears) Oh, build up for the REAL final boss. I see what you did there.

with the medal you should be able to see how far away you are from getting it. like saying how many enemies you have killed or how long you have played for so far. + if you want developers to see this.

Finally got to maximum level and got the final badge. I think that unlimited mode should have upgraded versions of all the bosses.

There's only one thing wrong with this game, it feels limited... Everything is done, but I'm not done... I want more, lol. I'm gonna go check out your other games for now, but I think everyone wants a sequel. We want more upgrades though, looking through other comments lives is an excellent idea, others have suggested more achievements. I think it can be expanded in every area without becoming too much, a wider shop variety, split the upgrades, have the ship size, armor and some general weapon/ship upgrades, double the length of the main gameplay at least, I say triple it I'm up for it and I see most others are too. The leveling system could be expanded with a leaderboard, to gain a level you beat the lifetime total of the pirate above, be it Blackbeard or Guybrush Threepwood, there's definately room for a little fun there. I think this overall this is still an awesome game, I still give it 5 stars even though it feels like a Demo, hope to see Frantic Frigates 2 soon :)

Great game ! Very clever in all its ways - that's what takes a good yet simple core concept to turn into a great game. Well done !
PS : I can offer more precise French translation and also German, should you want me to.

Great game, but it would be nice if there was an information on the screen telling how many points do we have, it would make it easier to win the hard badge

I'd really like to be able to see your score while in game, not just your current money. For the badge, I kept playing far past what was enjoyable just to make sure I had a high enough score. Turns out I had almost twice what was needed (60k) when I finally suicided.
