Why the awful control scheme? This game would be far better with key controls. It feels like the designer forgot that games are meant to be fun.

This is one of the best games in kongregate. It does so many things so right. It is easy to learn. It is challenging to master. The game is fast paced from the start (as opposed to so many other "upgradeable" games, which start with a slow underpowered weapon). The game is so simple yet so fun. I like this game very much. Now for some things which can be better: 1) The bosses should drop money in between. It is quite aggravating to fight the boss while only missing 20 gold for the next upgrade. 2) The ship upgrade itself should give some bonnuses. It is painfull to pay 2000 gold, and then you have a free slot but no money to buy anything. Anyway, good game. I like this very much.

Hi i would like to request a restraining order against the last boss. No matter how many times i defeat him he keeps coming back to haunt me.

@Adeeb You don't need to fight the Thunder 4 times. I made 40k in 3 times total, including the first time to complete the game. By upgrading your Loot, you get more points. So just max Loot, Attack (to live), and Attack Speed. ^^

To get Money from Lach just click away from the game and it will pause then just wait and keep waiting and you'll see lach

3 shots get annoying when you don't deal with them and when they pile up.
also, i think that weapon and movement upgrades are the best

To get the hard badge you need to manage your upgrades. For me, the best way is getting max lot & magnet at the start. Then get the best cannon. Sell the least usefull treasure box and buy the best flag. Upgrade the ship, buy the other best flag. And best fire rate at last, after the ship.
You should get max lot and fire rate. Almost maxed cannon and a good speed. I got 33k score after beating the last boss for the second time.

I'm very pleased with the autofire, autotarget system. It's simple to use, but even adds some (minor) strategic element, as you have to move about to keep firing a certain target.
I got to 99% with my first try (the baddie at 1/10th life)... The "Final boss defeated - or is it?" badge was a dead giveaway that it was going to transform.
Also, got the hard badge with a few tries. Re-destroying the final boss a few times gets you over 50'000. I think starting out with the best three flags and then getting the best cannon is the way to go.

17k score, WELL beyond the final boss. I give up, another Death vs Monstars badge requiring you to sit for half an hour.

I would really, really like having the option to play with arrow keys or WASD. Touchpad is doable, but uncomfortable.

I got to 99% on my first try, the only reason i died was because i moved in to collect the spoils from the "last boss" ;)

Why do I not find this game fun in the slightest? No matter what I do, I don't feel like I've done anything to celebrate about, even from beating the game and earning all medals. It's probably because that although this a very decent and well made game, ever since I failed at 27,000 points and now can't even seem to beat the final boss anymore, with the max amount of starting money you can get. This also makes me wonder why you aren't allowed to max out every stat, which leads to me becoming confused over whether or not I should just blow it and max firepower or if I should sacrifice being fully charged with attack and loot and instead be more balanced with buying the flag. I always tend to lose either way...so now I don't even want to try anymore...but as I said, technically speaking, this is a great game. But thirty times is enough for me.

Does anyone know if Upgrading Loot makes it more likely to get anchors to restore health? Also if it doesn't would you(the creator) make it spawn more often from dead enemies? I've gotten to the second boss and after i defeat him I usually only have 1 life left and one of the little ships gets lucky and kills me.

I'd like this game a lot if I didn't have to start over from the beginning every few minutes. I love you Berzerk, but this game kinda sucks.

You should not focus on weapon and fire rate only. You should try to get upgrades that gives at least 4 or more bonuses. The flags are very great for this. Having all 4 flags gives you a very powerfull balanced ship. Adding the weapon +4 will even give the ship maximum attack, making it the most powerfull balanced ship. With both max weapon and high fire rate, enemies will fall really fast. Having a high speed will enable you to dodge bullets easier. And higher loot + magnet will let you earn cash faster, which is very good for the hard badge. Hope this strategy will help you guys out there ;)

1. It's almost impossible to tell "this ship is about to fire" flash from "this ship has been hit" flash. Maybe they could blink RED or something instead? Throw us a bone?
2. We're not buying new ships willy-nilly. They're damn expensive, and without the extra inventory space, we're not going to survive. That being the case, and there being a strict upper limit, could we maybe get _full_ health when buying a new ship? ("Thanks for the purchase, Cap'n! Give us a moment to knock holes in the ship in all the same places as the old'n, and we'll turn her over to yer...")
3. As near as I can tell, there are upper limits on each of the "stats" that aren't reachable, even with the best items available (if there's some secret I'm missing, someone feel free to set me straight.) It would be easy enough to simply have the final ship purchase (you know, the one that costs freaking $5,000?) add one point to all stats. Heaven knows we could use it against those damnably tough post-final-wave ships.

fix the lag on the last boss, but because it lags INCONSISTENTLY, causing players to die when the game suddenly becomes significantly faster.
