Here's the trick I used to earn the hard badge: only use the loot upgrades to grind money and practice how you avoid the bullets enemies fire to easily earn enough to get the best ship. Once you do, equip all 5 slots with +4 fire rate, +4 weapon, the best treasure chest, and the 2 pirate flags with all the extra stats. Fight all the bosses the best way possible, but after the third boss, try to run away from the enemies to easily avoid easily losing to a cluster of bullets that will scatter across the screen with the help of enough speed as you land enough hits on them and always swerve your way to any treasure chest you see and often slowly based on where they appear. I ended with a score of $55,753 using this trick.

I can't seem to pause the game for the free gold. It just makes me stop controlling the game when I click off the window - even pressing windows key or whatever

@PullADouble ...There IS such an item. Occasionally, the ships you beat will drop a red anchor, which heals your ship.

A fun game with fast enough progression. I've played it for less than 2.5 hours and beat the final boss. If this game was made by Synapse Games, (Spellstone maker) the grind would be 100 times as long.

you can move your mouse offscreen and let the ship go offscreen as well... also, i find it funny that the devs put 'free for a limited time' on the main page of this game like it is supposed to get you to download that version. why would i do that when im playing it for free right now??? refer to my previous comment on this game as it is the truth. you can find it wrongly downvoted in the rating sort last page. 1/5 why would i download a trash game onto my phone?

Managed to get through most of the final boss on my second run through some ridiculous luck, and have yet to get even close to that far again. 10/10 great game

Repeatedly get to 99%, cannot finish as the lightning hits I lag and die even on low quality setting... the game grinding to get the starting cash up makes the game stale and boring

Seems to be a massive grinder to get up enough level and starting cash to complete the game, a nice game but a bit repetitive after awhile and it gets boring

Fun game but I jjust don't like how you lose all upgrades and have to start all over when you lose the 3 lives. Not worth the time investing in temporary upgrades.

Comment by pip1a11a is the best way to get hard badge. Employed that strategy, ended up with score 57,000 with death on 3rd time on final boss. Hit 30k money after beating final boss 1st time. Great game.

I literally just got "beat third boss", "beat third boss without taking damage" AND "defeat thunder" in one attempt somehow

Your "health bar" are the anchors in the top-left of the screen. Anchor pickups are extra lives. Boss health bars show up at the bottom of the screen

Great game, but the timing of this BotD is a little off! September NINETEENTH is International Talk Like A Pirate Day. Yarr...missed it by that much!

Erm, not to brag or something, but I just got a highscore of 84,253. I beat the final boss 5 or more times in one run, 2 hitless. I went from lv5 to max level... kinda proud of that :3 (but no achievement >_>)

I managed to encounter the final boss. I suddnely realized I was playing in small window mode, so I activated the cinematic mode... And my menu never disappeared. Though, I actually beat the last boss with the menu hiding half of the screen. There should be an achievement for that :(

Dragon, you want to delay bosses by killing as little enemies up until around the spread ships come, as it gets you more treasure, more gold. Also start with lvl 4 and lvl 3 loot, speed helps because it makes you get to chests faster and miss more shots early on.
