As far as not-really-free MMO games go, this one is the best I have played in a while. I don't feel like I am just getting killed by people who have way to much money to spend. I can play the game and access most the features needed for adequate game play. Finally, the game never comes straight out and asks for money. True, it is taking a while to just grind it out, but that ends up just being an issue of game play instead of financials.

new server + new badges = massive overload, thats why I went to server 3 and I have ZERO LAG ISSUES! Are all you people with connection problems on server 4? maybe get a clue?

We know Kongragate gets paid when people spend money on games like this but these money grubing games leave people with a bad feeling later. Your tarnishing Kongragates good reputation as a place to find quality games when you give badges to a game like this. Don't trick yourselves into thinking a high number of players means people actually enjoy the game. These games are designed to suck people in but that doesn't make them fun.

Urg. This game is so laggy. For any action I want to undertake, I have waiting times of nearly 30 seconds. Which is half an eternity if you just want to play. I usually like these kinds of games. But I'm not sure I'll even complete the tutorial at this rate.

If time was spent fixing bugs and connection issues instead of opening new servers I might've considered this an awesome MMO, but instead I can only say it's half-decent. I'll probably quit after I get the Master Spelunker Badge.

What a terrible game. Addictive, pointless, and broken. played half ways to the hard badge and realized that this game was just a slow and lengthy waste of time. So many things were broken for me, transmuting, selling, exploring dungeons. This game is purposely made to be a painful experience for those who are not planning and buying gold. Having to refill my army manually after every battle only made this game an exhausting experience. This is not a game but a really crappy demo. It should not have gotten badges. 1/5

It's not about being good at the game. The main issue is people who are badge hounds dislike needing to spend 2-3 weeks of their time on a game to get a badge. It doesn't help when the game itself doesn't give you any kind of an enjoyable experience. The chat's full of immature kids talking about their junk, the text is full of errors and looks like it was google translated half the time, and there's no variety or innovation to be found. Personally when I play a game with badges I expect better. This game is fun if you can look past all the issues it has between balance and obvious cash grabbing tactics, but that's a big barrier.

Holy cow, not only have the devs stolen stuff from World of Warcraft and Caesary -like games, but also froM Heroes of Might and Magic III? Nothing is sacred anymore... -.-

I don't get why people hate these games. Are they not intelligent enough to figure out how to play and do good? These games are very fun once you get better at them. I havn't payed for any gold and I'm doing great so far!
What's up with the (-) signs on every comment that's not the top. People must be really angry at this game simply because they stink at the game.
Great game callofgods. There were a few bugs, but I don't really care about spelling mistakes and stuff like that. My overall rating out of 10 is 9/10!
*Fix the bugs and I would rate it 10/10!

The quest "A Final Test" is bugged. Ironically, I considered it a final test for the game: I will never play it again.

How can ANYONE in their right mind charge for a game with this many problems? It's like you are saying "Look at my pretty graphics - if you pay me enough money, I might even fix the game". I came here for the second time because this pile of bugs was still in the "Recommended game" list at the top of the home page. THIS MAKES ME WONDER who at KONGREGATE is recommending a BUG-FILLED GAME - and to add insult, a game that OFFERS PAY FEATURES for those bugs? Is this person TRYING to make Kongregate look like AMATUER HOUR or something by promoting this crap?

@Alternatives if they give us full control of the troops, they cant charge for skipping the battle.. They lose on it!

This game has qualities (graphics, quests, many things to do...), but unfortunately too many problems. 1) too many bug (connexion & inventory) - 2) battle are dull. Like many other players, I wish I had more control over my units. Troops with high speed (normally an advantage) often turn into a disadvantage. It's these units that undergo the first attacks instead of inflicting the first damage. 3) It's often better to let an opponent attack our castle without placing defenders, because it's cheaper. 3/5

At least make a 3D Reality MMO which you could fraking walk with keyboards and easily chat with homies instead of some turn-based or simulation

This game would be infinitely better if we had more control over our troops, or at least the ability to set more of a strategy. If full control isn't possible with current coding why not give us some strategy options? Like kill the weakest enemy rather than the one that's in line of sight, or kill the enemy that our troops have a bonus damage buff on?

Unit Commander "Sir, we have 200 archers in the back field, permission to fire."
General "Are you insane, can't you see the one archer standing in front of them. Kill him first and give the others a chance to shoot us at full strength."
Unit Commander "... are you f***ing kidding me?"

Definition of Fog: is a type of a cloud, the term "fog" is typically distinguished from the more generic term "cloud" in that fog is low-lying, and the moisture in the fog is often generated locally (such as from a nearby body of water, like a lake or the ocean, or from nearby moist ground or marshes).Which means NOT IN DUNGEONS!

So far, the Engrish and lag time are getting on my nerves. Not to mention the money-hungry-ness of these MMOs. I understand that they cost money to great and run, but still. Other ways or formats. There are some things gamers will pay for and other things they will loathe being asked to pay for. At the moment, I'm a little impressed by the complexity of the game, but only time will tell if it's worth playing (for free only).

"Jimgreer:We put badges on 5-10 times as many singleplayer games as MMOs. If you don't like the MMOs, don't play them! Many people do like them."
It's not about not liking MMO's, it's about badges on non-working, 13-in-a-dozen MMO's.

This game would be more entertaining if every function didnt cost gold... I am not going to waste kreds just to perform a simple function like removing a skill or trading in this game...

With reguards to my previous comment about the transmute not working...
Also didn't work with some boots i tried.
I thought maybe poor programming meant i HAD to only have 1 of each required item to make the recipe work so i actually SOLD items i could have saved to test, and it STILL claims i dont have the required items (even though they all say 1/1 or 3/1 or 6/1)... GRR

When a game starts asking you to pay for not playing it(skipping battles and animations) you can tell how bad it really is. The game should be paying its players to watch its boring Battles and not the players paying to not have to watch them.

@ JIMGREER: my personal problem isn't that of MMOs getting badged. There's a brickload of good MMOs that totally deserve their badges. My problem is that even if they're crappy (such as Call of Gods here is, imho) they still get badged, even when their quality is low. Furthermore, they get to be recommended. I always see at least 5 spaces reserved for MMOs on the front page, even when these MMOs are virtually indistinguishable one from the other.
One example: Buggle Connect is fun, elegantly designed, has a good replay value and more than a bit of strategy is needed to play. It's a fun, simple and fresh game even now, without being moronically simple. Its score is 4.08, a full half point more than Call of Gods, but it's got NO BADGES. I'm not here to accuse anyone, but it seems to me kongregate has a particularly good (and sometimes unjustified) opinion of fantasy MMOs.
