it will have count em 5 countrys army durrin WW2
the brittish American jappinsie soviet and chiniese and I came up with basic American thing
shotgunner has to be nexted to a unit to attack (Short ranged)
sniper=artcher
rifle can attack 2 away
grenadear launches aoe attack 2 sqares
plane is like cavalry
figiter plane is anti plane plane
only few can taunt
grenader cant taunt
plane can shoot and bomb istatd of tant
jap infantry can bozai charge and act at 1 range no taunt with a bayonet
ak 47 with full auto blast and bayonet so no foxhole or trenches
jap milita can dig a hole and when enemy stps on it they take heavy damage because of landmine that is a bomb that u have to hit with hammer
and that's that

game stupid, On the normans battle, I had 2200 troops against 500, just by shouting he won the battle, bravo. He must be the dragonborn or something

This deserves a sequel where the morale affects their attack and/or defense instead of making the troops flee when the morale is low. 5/5 nonetheless.

This game is a favourite of mine from some years ago. A must have in your list of turn-by-turn games; most of which I'm not a fan of. It's so fluid and seamless almost... except when you give a command to fire, you follow the sequence and the game freezes so you have to refresh... -sigh- atleast I hadn't devoted a lot of time into it yet. =] __STS

Like the art, music, and some game play, but the archery needs clearer instructions, and the "minigames" are not interesting.

Here is a very solid Norman battle plan: Get 4 archer divisions and the rest footmen, set the archers up one to each row, at the four highest concentration lanes, have half the infantry set up in front of the archers, and the other half four spaces back. Have all archers barrage the enemy, with everyone else taunting. Confirmed that it works, about 300 lost, the entire enemy army dies or fled.
Tested on normal, large battle, all three maps.

umm ok so i play norman vs norman with 5 knights and 5 MTA, the enemy is same... and the result is Death: 970 in my army and 4367 in enemies whoooohooooo one of the most decesive battles in history! if this is a real battle my name would written in history books as the best general :v

This game would be excellent if it weren't for the min-games for combat. At least an option to turn those off would be good, leaving a virtual dice roller to do the work would be good. I am no good at any of the little battle minigames, and would much prefer to just order my troops to strategic positions.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW I lost because that one last group of English taunted when half of my army is still alive... WOOOOOOOOOOOOW

I think the Normans should have a "low" rank under courage instead of average. Here's why. They always get massacred by the Vikings because their morale drops like a turd. Their knights and archers are badass, but the men-at-arms (the MAIN force of battle) are too easily destroyed by England and Scandinavia, who both have strong offense.

"RAVEN STARVER!" "ILL-BORN RAT!" "SVINAFELL TROLL!" "POT-BELLIED ORC!" *Vikings and Englishmen start crying and running away at the same time*

@doctor
It's the logic of the game. Plus, during this "war", a lot of their comrades have died without your prior notice. Death, pain, isolation, desperation.... Those certain aspects can affect the morale and flow of the war.

"What did you say to me Pig-Snout?!" "Thats right, I called you a coward, Pig-Pot!""Stop Calling me names!" "No you stop!" *both sides start crying and fall down*

Finally got King on the first level on hard mode. The trick is to bring 4-5 archers, 2 varangian guards, and the rest warriors. Take your king and 1-2 warriors quickly along the top row to wipe out the enemy king who stays in the rear. Meanwhile your archers need to waste first the enemy archers and then the enemy charging king while staying behind a shield wall of warriors and varangian guards. Toward the end, your shield wall will be badly damaged, so to avoid losing a unit you must order the shield wall to break and have the most injured 2 guys flee while the last one blocks the enemy shield wall alone for a few rounds.
The rest is just a matter of aim, careful maneuvering, and making sure you move your king into range of the enemy king on a round in which the enemy goes first. That way he can't charge you but you can charge him next round.

I was about to completely destroy an army as the Vikings (high courage stat) when my foe started yelling insults. Within a few rounds, all of my men, including King Harald himself had fled, our 60-something morale having been reduced to 0. Literally just before engaging the final stack in melee. A stack of archers.

1/5 the combat system is awful. It's entirely random. There is a delay of several seconds between when you hit the correct key and when you hitting the key actually registers in game.

Alright, so I've managed King rank on missions 2 and 3 and master general on 1 (all on hard mode). Has anyone managed to get King on mission 1 on hard mode? If so, how did you do it?
