The battles are not incredibly hard, but if you're trying to go for gold trophies early this game can get a little annoying. First, the randomly generated board does not always give you a favorable spread to easily take out the enemy barriers. Even if you manage to get a huge combo, your character stops mid-combo if one enemy dies and the remaining damage does not go to the next enemy. If you're going for gold trophies, do it after you've done some grinding.

armor tiles are at BEST a lost round...the only way for them to make any sense would be to have them be insertable into other sequences

Can't get gold save slot to work and I've completed Chapter 8 with every hero type. BTW game just stops after Chapter 8, nothing else will work so I guess that is the end of the game?

Gold slot save not working? Is this when and where I find out that the two previous save slot completions need to be with different character types?

The one big complain I have with the game is that, on enemy formations, it can be hard to select the one on the back, becouse there might be another enemy in front of it, and it's really easy to select the one in front by mistake.

Okay, so the continue screen doesn't even appear on chrome, i tried firefox but the continue button doesn't work. So I can't get past the first fight,.

The game is still stuck after you finish it, which means you can't score the trophies anymore and it won't acknowledge you finish it 3 times and you can't get the gold save file. Too bad because the idea itself is pretty good. The manipulator is tactical but it still took me long, I went with the scoundrel and health upgrade summons but this also takes long. The damage is almost all colour based, so as long as you have about 2x30 in the end it matters very little. I was quickest with the warrior, some spread upgrades and the lowest armour breaker skill in the list.

i have beaten all the Templars of Level 3 with 100% gold ... and yet i am captured and am going to be experimented on. what is the point of winning, i ask you?

I just completed second slot with all gold trophies and just one missing in slot one (last fight that you cannot retry as told here already). And guess what... gold slot is still locked :( looks like unfair bug... Well otherwise as answer to some comments: it's a game of 2012, so if the game has some defaults it will surely not be changed. I like somehow the game but got disappointed at the end and felt betrayed.

After ending the game I wanted to complete all the achievments but I could access the start mission menu anymore, that's a bit annoying. Nonetheless a fairly good game. 4/5

If you found that the game took grinding to complete, here are some tips to make it easier. HP is the most efficient way to use skill points, since each point gives you 2 HP. Try to buy gear with no HP which has the max of its main stat (boots = martial, etc). It's easy to have enough gold for everything if you go back halfway through the game and get 15 gold trophies for the "Double Cash" item. Finally, I beat it with the warrior (easily with 27 unspent skill points) and found maxed armor pierce to be extremely powerful. Every 4 turns you can just strip shields off enemies no matter what the board looks like. Manipulator also seems to have pretty good potential.. but gambler(whatever hes called) was very very painful to play compared to the other two.

My suggestions: Offer a side by side comparison between what you are using and what you might purchase. Make targeting the right back most enemy easier. Allow for the cancellation of special moves and lower the combat frame so the health bar is still view on the top row enemies. Plus what others have mentioned. An very enjoyable game otherwise!

It's ridiculous that there are 3 enemies that still kill me in 3 turns and I've been grinding away for several hours.

For 2019 botd I noticed that we're unable to go back and retry the final battle should we only get silver. this is a bit annoying as it makes the gamewise achievements such a massive grind. Fair enough though. All in all a neat game.

As others have said, the grid is far too tiny for this type of game. Any turn spent healing or guarding is honestly a wasted turn, since the point is to win as fast as possible; a turn not killing an enemy is a wasted turn. The art is splotchy, even on the highest quality, and not in a "oh, comic book style" way. There were good ideas here, but some bad implementation.

The premise and basic mechanics are AWESOME, but there's some tweaking to be done.
Firstly, more clarity as to how chaining multiple types of attacks together works- some kind of blatant 'instructions'. Maybe make it so you can switch in new gear by just dragging it to the slot. The end was pretty grindy, imo.
The BIG thing is, though, that- like others have mentioned- the 3x4 grid is too small considering the various tile types. You have 6 different 'normal' tiles, and 1 power tile for multichains. that's 7 tile types in a grid with 12 spaces where the mechanics are Based Upon chaining things together.
Click boxes for switching between enemy targeting should be a bit larger. Trying to click a moving werewolf tail was... not fun.
And a pet peeve, why not have the bonus save unlocked just after one game completion? two seems a bit much, imo. Unless the 2nd is different in some way, ofc. The story was nice, though, and i hope to see another, updated entry in this series someday!!

Now that I've played the game through, I highly suggest the Armor Pierce skill as it turns a single tile into a chain to destroy a full armor color. Also, if an enemy is hidden behind another, select any enemy and scroll with the arrow keys.

I do not know what happened but the tech points counter has become so big that I can no longer select anything but my abilities. (I think it grew every time I used my ability, gamble. That or just whenever).

game is bugged... I go to the store I can't press exit, doesn't work... I beat a level I press Continue... doens't work.. looks great but 2 bugs in less than 1 minute of play 1/5. !

In Chapter 3, Battle 3, it appears to be impossible to select the ghoul in the back while the bat in the front is still alive.

>5 chain
>only takes 2 hits to kill the guy
>3 attacks wasted going nowhere
Shame there was no alt-targeting system enabled to make those wasted attacks his something, anything else on the enemy side.

Hmm, buttons work in both Chrome and Firefox for me. Maybe people need to update their flash or allow permissions for this game to save on local storage?

Ok, so in-game achievements, which are also called trophies and have the same image as trophies, as not trophies. ...That's not confusing at all.

Not everything needs to blink and be animated and whatnot. Tutorial was extremely useless.
I did enjoy the game, but there were so many things ruining my fun not because they were missing but because you added them intentionally.
Sometimes less is more.

You should have the symbol for the corresponding damage on the opponents health bar. some of use are not good at seeing colors.

It works on firefox, and has an interesting set of mechanics. It has minor flaws (grid should be a little bigger), but it's still a good game. 5/5

The buttons in this game seem to be very broken. I've repeatedly gotten stuck at victory screens an in the store because the continue or exit buttons don't work.
