4) All people are completely interchangeable and feel exactly the same about you, and you feel exactly the same about all of them. Nobody is different or special. 5) Love gets harder with time but not because you get too seriously involved with it, but because people start to move more and more recklessly, no matter if you try to get close to them again.

fun game ... only issue i had with it was the amount of memory leakage i got on this game was huge ... took less than 10 minutes to leak 4Gb of RAM + 150Gb virtual memory ... that's insane ...

It's an interesting attempt to convey a certain metaphor with simple mechanics. As always when dealing with a metaphor the specifics of interpretation depend on the "receiver" (in this case a player) so the effect will vary widely between individuals. Bearing this in mind saying that "the game is about X" or "I like how you presented interaction Y" says more about the player than it does about the game or the developer. To me, personally, the metaphor was a bit too simplistic, a bit too open for (mis)interpretation, this might have been the desired, discussion provoking, effect though. I am still willing to give it a solid 4, both for an ambitious thought as well as for decent gameplay through very simplistic means. If this is indeed your first project I will eagerly await to see what things you'll come up with when you master your tools.

Life lessons taken from a Flash game developer:
1) Since you're white, it eventually becomes impossible to see yourself and know where you are, so you end up bumping on people around without noticing;
2) Apparently you "get hurt" by getting "too close" to people, but it always happens by accident; people move around so insanely quickly when you're alone that you crash right into them (because you can't see where you are);
3) People around you care exclusively about you; interacting with each other is completely out of question.

So there you go, folks: the next time you develop a boring, irritating game that looks like a reject from the Microsoft Entertainment Packs from the 90's, wrap it up with a stupid and pretentious existential "concept", because EVERYONE wants to learn about love with a Flash game developer, and nobody will care about the gameplay because having fun is for LOSERS.
One star is too much for this.

This is a total reflection of my vision of love and my real live. Bouncing back and forth of different ladies getting temporary happiness, but never be with them.
FOREVER ALONE

this is the first game where i tried to die as much as possible, just to read all those quotes about love. very nice, indeed.

why is it that you get really close to someone and you lose? do you get married and grow old together or something? 5/5 though for a really amazing and unique game

Really interesting and relaxing game. However there is a bug where after dying, it instantly resets, taking no record of your score. Please fix because I keep on getting above 18000 but no record of it. 4/5

Huh, when I first saw the title of the game, I was thinking of "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin. Then I realized that song was basically the polar opposite of what this game is trying to say. Although the phrase "I'm gonna give you every inch of my love" could apply to those square things, if you know what I mean *wink* *wink*.

I had a significant other, one that I followed everywhere. But I let my significant other get too close to me, and she pulverized my quadrilateral soul.

This game makes me feel like such a block tease. Or like I'm square dancing. Darn it there are so many bad puns that apply! Anyway, i loved it. The idea, the gameplay, the sounds. The pretty colors. Extremely clever and with high replay value, even if it is rather simple. Due to the limitations of the idea i cant quite give it a 5/5, but its definitely close

I refuse to believe this is an inspirational game from a producer named "Hairy Games". I mean, seriously, how the hell did that happen?

So.. this game is encouraging us to be players? Get as close as you can to as many as possible at a time without devoting yourself completely.

I guess love is all a game of luck... Those who are lucky think it's the easiest thing in the world and don't understand why all other people are struggling to even get close to it...

addendum: i see people talking about connecting with up to 8 squares? only six are on my screen, do more appear the longer you play?
