I looked up the original name and it seems tied to a book series I've never read. Certainly seems like something I'd probably like, though. The name kind of reminds me of Johnny Dangerously.

Q, I was wondering, would it possible to not count research committees on bills that have passed but not EoD cleared towards the 2 RC max?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
So when you become a lobbyist you lose all your money in offshore accounts? uh...you should probably include that in the game....
At Clout Tier 1, you will mostly be playing to pass bills or voting in committees and such. Those bills affect the nation at large, and also potentially other players. When you get more experienced at the game and reach Clout Tier 2+, more gameplay options (especially pvp-related ones) become available.

sigh... base election chance is 5%, gerrymandering increases that. To get more than the base election chance you need to get your csp higher than 0. Speeches and ads increase CSP. But if your csp is... lets say... -1000000 you need to get 1000000 csp from ads and speeches to be able to increase your election chance with more ads and speeches. To avoid getting those low chances simply keep your csp high and avoid having too many scandals.
This is all correct. It seems like people kind of stopped disseminating information to eachother at some point. It used to be people kept eachother relatively well-informed. Not sure what changed.

joining the socialist party and accusing opponents of being commies: pretty good. accepting a campaign contribution and accusing opponents of being corrupt: genius.

My reelection chance isn't at 5% and it still is completely unaffected by self-promo ads, playing invoke founding fathers 20 times, and congressional speeches.
You need to pay attention to your current level of constituent support when you're running ads. Both types of direct ads can do nothing if you use them wrong. This is explained in the mission descriptions. Those are important; I don't know why nobody seems to read them.

You know, it'd be cool to be able to actually be separated into the states as Representatives/Senators and be able to affect state laws/policy/support for you/president, etc. etc. etc. Also, it would be a more in-your-face way to show the effects of different policies, and to show which states have the most problems due to said policies. Just another thought that I've been meaning to get out.

Idea for assassination:
Men with machineguns pulled up to CONGRESSPERSON's house, emptying over 2000 bullets into the house, killing everyone inside.
And if the congressperson survived, it would be: Fortunately, the congressperson was out to lunch at the time.
Or: However, all of the bullets missed the congressperson, and the police assigned to his house killed the attackers.
Arch-conservatives are about the ONLY people left in the US that think Cannabis should be illegal (or at the very least the only ones that think it should be DEA Schedule 1)

Wait, How do we have a better relation with a cardboard cutout of kim Il-Sung then we do with Russia, Mexico and Venezuela, VENEZUELA! What did we do to anger Venezuela more then North Korea! Did we starve half our population for fun!?! However being best buds with central africa is perfectly logical.
We conquered North Korea months ago and installed a puppet dictator (quite literally in this case). Tends to improve relations. Well, with the government anyway.

i understand a kevlar plate, but how does a helmet protect you from a car bomb? you were performing maintenance on the car? you where driving upside down, using your hands instead of your feet on the pedals?
The top of the car is made of metal, and the windows are made of hard glass. Neither of things things are particularly good for your head. It's rare that the actual explosion from anything other than a purpose-built anti-personnel bomb will directly kill you.

@delos, the previous comment i made was in reference to the comment before last. the only one about binaries. except the one before that which was part of the same discussion
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@delos, in regards to binaries. if we simply were on at the right time we could see what binaries had and hadn't been passed the previous day, so its really not that much of a benefit.

let's see here I have 110000 dollars... and a cigar is only 200.... Later that Day.. Amount of Money: 0 dollars... Any other bad things to do to myself besides looting Cuba and Mexico of their supplies? No really tell me and I will do it
Are you saying you spent 110,000 on cigars? That's impressive dedication. I guess you could always ruin yourself by supporting the bills of your opponents.

"Congressperson The Doctor was nearly involved in a serious automobile accident today. They discovered that their brake lines had been cut when they tried to stop at a red light."
Somebody really ought to do something about those Daleks. They're turning into some real pests.
People actually had to make this reference twice before I put it together. Turns out I can't watch TV when all my spare time is spent working on Clout D:

you should have a chance of a scandal randomly being released to the news. and increase the chance when you have cops around for protection
Protection was recently worsened to compensate for the inclusion of defensive items. I'll be adding some more here in a minute if you want to bundle up a bit more.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@delos, it would help see if a recent change in nation stats was from a binary. if we dont pay close attention to the bills screen and a bill passes at about 11pm we may not see whether it passed or not.

I'm not disregarding anything. All I'm saying is that, as far as I understand, now different sets of gear will be better for different actions, and that those actions clear at different times. So, for example, it seems to make sense to me to switch to high stat gear to play abilities and right before the new speaking engagements clear, and to stay in defensive gear at other times to minimize the risk of getting killed by a lucky shot. So what am I missing?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I'm starting to wonder about the direction we're going with the defensive gear. I'm having a hard time imagining any situation where optimal play doesn't involve changing gear, and adding special campaign appearances will make it best to log in to change gear briefly at certain times. What about maybe making defensive gear have it's own slots, and cost somewhere in the $100-200k range?
You're disregarding most of the changes I'm making to address this. You're also assuming that protective gear is much better than it is. It's specifically useful for CERTAIN playstyles. Other playstyles will gain little to no benefit from it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
yay assassination proof armor! now all we need are camnets to prevent scandals being seen and "larcenic" to kill anyone who robs us!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Defensive items! Now only if the store had those in stock before someone tried to assassinate me...
btw, how good are these defensive items?
They're in stock. Also, check the facebook page for a more detailed description of how defensive items differ from police protection. Defenseive items are best when you're a rare assassination target and don't do a lot of drugs.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
when people are assassinating each other that much that Q has to put defensive equipment in the game YOU KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG !!!!!!!!
no other solutions really made sense. It also allows me to do some more interesting things with some aspects of The Lobby that I was a bit worried about. The Lobby and Clout use the same items/stats across both games, in case you didn't know already.
