well, I'm glad they've so expertly dashed my attempts at making a game with low sysreqs that runs in a browser on just about any hardware or system. I'll be having a bit of a talk with them about that.
Thanks for the feedback and support! I'm actually in the process of making another game that ties into this one. It's called "The Lobby", and can be accessed if you're on some list kongregate has to add people to at my request. I expect to release it completely within a month or two.

america technically annexed all of their territories outside of the 13 original colonies including alaska, hawaii, guam, virgin islands, philipenes, and they also tried (and failed) to annex cuba, the dominican republic and probably some others I'm forgetting.
I assumed he had meant the more general term of annexation rather than the voluntary process of inclusion into the US. My point was mostly that the US doesn't go to war to annex land, so that won't be an option in-game.

Realistily if you introduced a win condition bill wouldn't you lose ALOT of Voter support cause lets face it I wouldn't vote for a congressman who wanted to Legalize Homicide
The presumption is that your constituents secretly support that view. Obviously it's a bit of a joke. Though, do consider that congresspersons tend to be WAY more polarized and partisan than presidential and gubernatorial candidates.

I gotta' honestly say, this is one of the most underrated games on here! Almost daily updates make this a unique game, with a very caring and efficient developer. Kudos to you, Delosford!!
Thanks for the feedback and support! The game's rating was actually dragged down a while back by trolls that are against all games with any sort of micropurchase system. It's been steadily going back up since, and we're about to hit "top rated" at 3.5 stars. I have little doubt it will continue up from there thanks to input from players like you and the impending release of The Lobby.

Is it possible to make it so we can easily see someone's clout tier by looking at them? The current implementation requires one of:
1. They have an active bill.
2. They are on the Cloutiest list.
3. They are CT4.
4. They are one of your Cronies.
For anyone else, you can't tell what clout tier they are.

Still playing this game and loving it, delos. :D
I have a few suggestions:
1) Allow us to buy at least 1 safe deposit box (bottom of offshore accounts) for in-game money, like $100,000?
2) Make dyes purchasable with in-game money.
3) Considering the amount of scandals released to the press everyday, you'd think the press would investigate random players automatically (don't know how'd it be implemented, but it'd be cool)
4) Make the other countries do something :D
I might do that for one box, though the logistics of doing it kind of suck considering how the microtransactions work. Dyes will never be purchasable with in-game money. I like that they give a neat way for people to display their support of the game in a way that other players can see. Allowing them to be purchased with cash would cheapen that. I've also had the idea to have the press randomly investigate folks... but it seems like a lot of people are having issues staying afloat as-is. Once I get scandals and investigations all balanced to my liking I might implement something like that. Other countries will have an effect on the game when I'm done with foreign relations.

r2d2go, great idea! Games like this are the ones that need the kongregate built-in forum, not the other MMORPGs where you dont need to ask or suggest anything complex.
Also, Don't "kill" me anymore, Q. I have new plans :P
And last but not least, quoting Old Crow, who was trying to make a joke but it turns out to be a great idea: "Q should get advertising space on Rationalwiki and Conservapedia to boost the Socialist and Conservative party sizes. xD"
Advertising this game on politics-related sites is one of the best ideas!
I think if people ask Kongregate to add a forum for a multiplayer game that they do. Many games that are pretty small have one. Also, I've found it's less effective to advertise to political non-gamers than it is to advertise to gamers who are non-political. The gamers don't really care about the political theme as the gameplay is semi-familiar enough, whereas the political folks often just can't figure out how to do anything because they aren't used to video games... and this one doesn't exactly have a shallow learning curve.

In light of recent events...
I think we should be able to pie people.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pieing
Perhaps the target would loose some CS, and a tiny bit of health or energy if successful. This is more intended to embarrass (and protest another players actions) than actually do physical harm. Perhaps a news story in-line with the embarrassment?
Would cause a smaller scandal than the other skullduggery options.
Thanks!
Wait, recent events? Link me. Also, I don't think I'd want this as a general mission, but I've been trying to figure out a semi-realistic filibuster interrupter, and I think I can work the pieing into that somehow.

So I'm glad my suggestion to "add a way to contact congressman directly" was added. It's good to know that I sharpened the knife used to kill me. :) - TC01
There are probably various mistakes on the page still. I've been going through correcting them as people point them out. Usually I tried to go by whatever their party's stated platform was in the country in question. I'm pretty sure that "conservatives" in Canada/most of Europe would be considered more center-left in the US.

Is it possible if the defense funding goes down far enough that it is possible to get conquered by militant nations? Or can we conquer other nations with a strong enough military? Could that be a way to lose/win?

How do I unpoison a bill? Some son of a gun poisoned my bill, and I am reluctant to act on it now. I will poison all the bills once I get that ability
Conference committee can remove poison pills. Oversight committee can prevent them. Also, I wouldn't advise poisoning everything as it makes everyone hate you.

I don't usually comment but I'm loving this game its interesting feels smart and there are constant updates this developer is hard at work other than a feel that there should be more communication required between party and player even considering the new mailing system i have no complaints
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i think you should introduce somethign about a party teaming up system. like you are only timed "couppled" with another party and acting agaisnt certain of the partners bills is less effective or costing you some support. just a system that pushes the partys themself to stick theyr head together but don't couple certain partys toegther forever.
Each bill in the game is specifically tuned to represent the real-life stances of each of the in-game political parties (with the assumption that the Socialist party represents a Liberal/Authoritarian party, rather than the US Socialist party which is pretty much the same as the Democratic party.)
Looks like it's INT-5 in the DB... though looking over the penalties, I should probably ease most of them up a bit. They do seem a bit harsh in retrospect.

Drinks fine wine alone at home by the fireplace while petting a cat* Reporters: Clearly penguinkirby has committed a major scandal! Ok
I think if you look in your character log you'll find a description as to why this occurred. Also, it's not a major scandal. It's 500CSP, which is the smallest scandal there is with the CSP loss being easily recoverable by about 1 day or so of normal play. You'd have to get hit with like 10 of them in a row for it to even have a meaningful effect (contrast with 1 or 2 having a similar effect with other scandals). The purpose of these scandals isn't to damage people's characters. It's to allow people the option to "drown out" worse scandals for investigations.

LordBucket, I didn't notice how big a problem energy is, now that I've played this game for a week enjoying it instead of 2 hours straight, and finishing it, I see why energy sucks because of your post. (sarcasm)
We're getting reports that developers the world over are recanting their energy-related ways in the wake of LordBucket's prophetic vision. They just didn't realize what they all NEEDED to do until he came along. A new era of prosperity and good-will for all has come about in the days since this glorious revelation has swept the globe, and word is that he's being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Sorry, I was unclear. I was more asking if it might be interesting to have bills have effects beyond the nation stats.. to really give impetus for folks to vote down certain bills. One possible effect that comes to mind is that certain bills can make it more or less difficult for a parties "Win" bill to pass, by reducing or increasing the initial acceptance of it.
Ah. I see. I could theoretically implement something like this, but I'd have to flesh out the idea a lot more first to make it all make sense. It's honestly probably not something I'll add for quite a while, as I intend to finish up a couple features with this game, move it to V1.0 and then focus my development efforts on The Lobby, a "companion game" to Clout. I will still maintain and develop Clout as necessary (since The Lobby ties into Clout, this will be frequently necessary), but there will definitely be a gap in any major development until The Lobby is well underway.
Not unless you do it via Kongregate. I have plans to add some sort of messaging feature, as well as the ability to crony people who are not your kongregate friends (or facebook friends, for the facebookers).

I like it. It would be good, however, to make party and constituent interests different (with the latter being chose partially based on party and partially randomly), to require players to balance the two.
Thanks for the feedback and support! I think such a random element would probably mostly piss people off. If I were to add something like this, I would do it in a predictable way such that you would be able to see what constituents from your supposed "district" preferred and act accordingly. Perhaps you would even need to spend cash to gain insight into what people preferred via polling and such. It's an interesting idea, but a lot of effort. It's something I'll keep in mind for the future perhaps.

There are some ways to reduce/minimize stress that are legal (replying to gerq174, i don't know how to reply here if that's an option). Once you hit level 2 you can do things like speaking engagements which use a lot of energy but cause very little stress as one example.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I kinda think the Black market items to reduce stress could be a bit more effective, when buying the highest cost only reduces 7 percent of my stress it is a little frustrating. Also as a side thought what about some highly expensive but legal ways to reduce stress for those that want to try the annoying and frankly futile route of staying above board? Love the game keep up with the awesome work.
Thanks for the feedback! More cost does not equate to more total effect, but rather to a better conversion rate from stress->energy. If you just want a really big stress reduction in one go, try some heroin!

Loved it.
I thought it would be one of THOSE games...you know what kind of shitty game i'm talking about. But it is in fact an interactive world where we can make political decisions and compete. And that rocks. Good job. Never wished for a game like this, but a love for this type of game is sparking in me now for some reason.

Why are you guys calling this game Pay to win? I just made 30 accounts and now I dominate all those tools who poured a hundred dollars into the game. Lol
Well, it's actually impossible to spend $100 on the game... and you definitely didn't make 30 accounts. You made 2, and I just banned them both, as multiboxing is against the rules. Enjoy! :)

I am passing so many decrease education spending bills. Gonna knock us back to the stone age if it's the last thing I do. CONSERVATIVE PARTY POWER!
The only way to make the game better is to interact with the people playing it, so I think it behooves all of us to maintain communication. Thanks for the feedback and long-running support!
