Just so you know what you are getting into: The first campaign is much longer than the first goal/boss. You can hit the first boss around day 5 but there are several more before you unlock survival mode.

So... how exactly am I supposed to beat a boss that disappears anytime I get close enough to attack, and all my minions have died 3 enemies into the location?

I usually already have the BoTD. I didn't have this one...and I remember why. This game is awful. The controls are terrible, and the spawning makes it really annoyingly hard to get through any level. Really poor quality for a game uploaded in late 2017. Not bothering with this BoTD.

The lives system is basically useless if you spawn right by a cluster of enemies you are guaranteed death. Simplistic game design, repetitive combat, and overall pretty poor mechanics.

I usually miss a BotD every two months. I'm gonna veto this garbage game, the campaign was a pain in the rear and I couldn't even unlock survival mode.

It was a fun game until the level with the horses. Then it suddenly became impossible. I don't mind when games get harder, but there should be a ramp-up over time, not an impassable cliff after a straight path.

I got the easy badge back in 2016, somehow. Today, just unplayable -- literally. Pressing T and Y do nothing, which means I can't pass the first level.

How can this game have been published in 2017 when I got the easy badge in february of 2009 ? Also, making the same combination of key do several attacks at random reflects an ill mind. Have fun strategizing in a game where everything, including your moves, is random.

Rarely post but had to join in. Awful awful game, got the badge though. sue cheat mode to beat episode 1 and then hold down attack and keep advancing to beat the 25 cap on survival

How is one supposed to win a badge of the day if the game does not show more than a black screen?
This is the second or third game this week that fails to load/show...

Okay, no need to amend statements... much. However, campaigns are hideously long, even if you bee-line to the goals. And yes, you can cross over previously used paths (didn't know this at first). Cheat sounds nice. Not exactly sure what it's about, but won't prepare you for Survival. Survival to 25 kills is easy enough if you can actually beat a chapter, but who wants to? (I had to, unfortunately, missed days.) Oh, and why the hell do troll shields look like condoms? Holy crap. Not to mention the Shang Tsung knockoff feels more like a slap in the face than an homage to MK. This game just boggles the mind.

Badge of the day should be one that doesn’t require a lot of effort, skill, and most importantly hella lot of RNG because of poor game mechanics. Clearly this medium badge is the worst candidate for badge of the day.

Different races in survival attack each other. If they kill each other you still get awarded with the kill. Use it to your advantage.

This game certainly have something wrong with it but there's an easier way to get this botd. Apparently, you can unlock survival mode easily when you beat the normal mode using a cheat, preferably the insta-kill one. Then you could switch back to no cheat mode to try survival mode. On survival mode, try to use the block button on projectiles and mounted units to avoid getting damage and try to fight them one at a time.

Sometimes too hard. Horsemen are overpoewered, blasting throw all your squad, damaging everybody. Especially there are some another enemies on screen. Enemies with any hit can stop your attacking move, leaving your surrounded by foes. But your hits don't stop enemy moving. I lost 2 mages and a couple of lives in easy level. Thanks, not

Don't remember this one. Let's see. Animations extremely poor, often buggy. Control laggy. Characters don't always stop when you do. Two horrendous choices of buttons (plz, just let me choose or is this a "Satan decided for me!"). Gameplay about as necessaryily strategic as mashing on the primary attack, and blocking at range only when you absolutely have too. About the only good thing is the music is and the fore/back-ground layering. Then again, having to beat a long, boring "chapter" just to get to the mode that's required for earning today's BotD is nothing less than completely insane. I honestly think someone took a list of games from 2017 (did a double take when I realized) that nobody of sound mind likes, closed their eyes, and just pointed. Otherwise, this game never gets picked for anything. Ever. To top it off, it's about as visually appealing as a conehead's fugly butt. No. Just, no.

The combat in this game wasn't balanced at all before launch, or seemingly even play-tested. It'd be one thing if the battles were a series of structured challenges with a carefully-tailored assortment of enemies to overcome and an ideal strategy for each battle that improved your chance of victory -- but no, it's a randomly-generated parade of RNG-output infantry that's as likely as not to spawn in three mounted spearmen at once and absolutely flatten you without taking a single hit. It's shameful how badly designed this mess is.

@tertiary_member thank you, thank you, thank you. i was just about to give up, when i read your comment. got 21 on my first try and 29 on my second.

After trying forever to get 25 in survival mode, even with Toldor, I finally just held down the attack key and kept moving. Did not even block archers. I got 33 the first time. I did get some horsemen and it cut them down fast which I found the most surprising.

Holy crap, it's tedious enough just to get TO the survival mode. Hard pass. 1 star. Looks like I have to come in on Saturday for my shiny Kongpanion.

A faster way to get the medium badge is to enable cheats from the cheat menu in the title screen. You can't use cheats in survival mode, but it can help you complete the episode faster.

Sorry, Marguerite. You won't be getting Shiny, as that would require me to continue playing this horrible game for another minute. You can see the problem.

Wow this game was startlingly bad. It's just a spamfest the whole time, and the enemies just get more and more annoying. Why does gold drop on the ground, so I have to walk backwards for 5 seconds to pick it up when I'm attacked from an enemy behind me?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Protip for the survival part of the badge when playing as Elldor (reading the comments you might wanna choose Toldor instead): Ensure you maintain a healthy statue garden. There cannot be more than 5 enemies on the map, and people you've broken the knees of cannot move until attacked, no matter how long they're there. So try to keep 4 statues on the board at any time. Preferrably with diverse factions, When the horsemen come they're all going to unfreeze, and target you (if not each other) because the horseman doesn't stay long enough to distract them.

This game is irredeemable for two reasons... One is the damage is incredibly random, and later in the game it gets worse. You'll suddenly take over 50% damage in one hit from a guy that normally does a pittance, and the damage you and your hirelings do seems to vary just the same on the enemies. The other issue is the mounted units, which take far too long to kill and easily murder your hirelings. You basically have to reload some maps so you don't get spammed by the wrong unit types. There's no consistency to any of it
