here's an idea: when the worm gets too big to fit the screen, have the screen show the worm slowly ingesting the entire planet (ie view it from space)

I realize that playing in sandbox mode until you can't see anything but a patch of grey and blood splotches is a waste of time, but it is an irresistible one.

I played until I covered maybe 90% of the screen then decided to stop playing as I got hungry. Borderlands threshers and the Sarlac pit from Star Wars got nothing on me.
