I just built a 74,349 micrometer long chain, then managed to click outside the screen so I went to desktop, and lost.

Excellent game. Fast paced, beautiful graphics, catchy music, well-balanced, challenging. In the line of Canabalt and Escape... with the mouse. On top of this, science links. I learn new things everyday.
Going on the sides when you're competing with red neurons isn't always a good thing, you may reach a dead end.

Everything is impressive from a certain scale, and absolutely insignificant from another. When you are a neuron, being 20mm long is an achievement, but I still don't get the 30-points badge until I'm 75mm.

You know what's bad, when you get one of those green things, and then it forces you into a place where you can get no proteins.

86.407.
The trick: I've furiously clicked without a stop in the generic direction of non-red neurons, without ever caring to aim properly. Of course, get as many power ups as possible. It doesn't matter which one you get, as long as you do not change your path just to get them.

I'd like to see multiplayer version of this. Something like race, or the thing with red cells growing. That would be hell fun

Request: At the end can we have a zoom out of the path we've taken?

I feel bad for the red nerves. If you're in their position, they're only starting off, and suddenly a huge nerve just runs them over, leaving them to their demise...

Fun gameplay. I agree with the top comments about adding a (small) degree of story/more gameplay depth, as that's likely to better get the educational aspect across. Perhaps replace the wikipedia link at the end with a short and simple summary about the type of nerve you've created and its functions - the wiki articles can be a bit clinical and unwelcoming.

awesome lil game but would be great if there was more to it, some kind of upgrades system maybe? i won't be getting the daily badge tho, bout 10 attempts and i haven't quite got half way so i'll pass, theres no sign it's getting easier so it's beyond my capabilities

Not sure if it's suppose to happen, but one time I took a green and it dead-ended me. And another few times, I'll see the yellow and then it will turn white when I get close, but it will still ding like I got the the yellow, but no more yellow's will show up like normal. These sound like glitches to me, but it's happened to me only a few times so I'm not sure if that's just the way it was built or I'm just messing something up.

this is a great game, it takes strategy, skill, quick reactions, and awesomeness to get to the Sciatic nerve, the longest nerve in the human body.

Wow. This was literally the first badge of the day I earned on Kongregate. It was in middle school, during the computer classes where we didn’t really have to do anything. And now it invites me again to try to get the hard badge…
