The british knew that the opium was bad. Although. I would argue that the entire era of british imperialism and colonialism is somewhat questionable too

It is a great game, quite interesting and exciting, but replay value is important. When you are almost at the end and lose, it is really annoying to go back to the start. Implement a saving system of something.

Interesting bit of history you simply don't hear about in the US. There's a lot of potential for more games like this, so much history to explore.

A decent game though market trends are harsh. I agree there should be more of a bonus for meeting the orders, like extra silver, since we're not seeing any profit to actually delivering the tea. It's almost better to strictly trade opium.

absolutely terrible. visually stunning and a fine example of the particular aesthetic, but to say that the gameplay is counter-intuitive would be an insult to counterintuitive games. the directions are scant and fail to elaborate on whether we will indeed be stuck on just the one screen during gameplay. once that becomes apparent, the steampunky charm fades away, and the distilled "buy low, sell high" game mechanic that was all the rage in 2001 is laid bare. 1/5. graphic design majors suck at making games.

Pretty fun game. It sucks when the prices of tea and opium are both high and the tea commissioner is looking for someone to blame though

Increasing the game size (ctrl+scroll wheel) shouldn't be an option; it should be a hard-coded default. -3 because I can't f'in see.

@LiSchStudios, yes to you, the event probably seemed cruel because thats how you were tought in school, but to britain, there was nothing wrong, because thats how they were tought. it all has to do with nationality and where you grew up. for exampler im american, and we were tought how horrible the german invasion of poland was, but to germany, they probably thought it was the right thing to do. or how we think iraq is some horrible country(even though most people know its not, just certain people), but to iraq, we look like the monsters.

It's not half bad! I didn't even know this sort of thing happened in the past. Also, when i first started the game i had to double-take because i couldn't believe i was playing a game where the purpose was to smuggle opium! harsh, but effective. 3/5, it gets repetitive after a while and could use some bug fixes. Update it, it's worth it!

So, the game has a glitch in it. At some point, it stopped caring if my orders were late, and then it wouldn't stop giving new orders. Every single order says "Final Order" but with more tea. It's over 700 now.

Let me buy 200, 300 hell, i would buy 500 crates when the prices are good. I couldn't do it because buying 30 crates at a time just isn't fast enough to buy 650 of em before British get their panties in a twist.

Two things: Sometimes the prices JUMP right before you click buy. They should always "tick upwards" to give fair warning. Also, the player should have a "sell ship" button.

there's no way to restart or go back to the main menu or something. basically needs something to end the game. i started and stared at the controls and stuff for about a minute then realised the time was ticking down and i couldn't restart =x

Great game, the initial learning curve is a bit rocky (interpreting the offer windows is a little daunting at first), but once you get going, it's great trading fun and makes it supremely easy to forget that you're ruining the lives of millions in pursuit of profits! =)

Prices are to arbitrary, No way to really plan a strategy of when to buy or when to sell. 2/5, 2 points for good graphics, -3 for the poor game play
