Under rating threshold (show) Whoa, turns out I was looking at the price of opium and thinking it was my stock of opium left in inventory, then getting angry when my ships wouldn't head out to deliver... oops! Oh well, I guess I won't be getting that badge after all...

Under rating threshold (show) Great game, the graphics look really polished, the theme is really novel for a flash title, and it even has an interesting topic to teach! I don't hand out 5s very often, but this game earns it.

Under rating threshold (show) Tips for getting the hard badge: 1. Score is based on the amount of crates sold and shipped, so always aim for transactions where you buy or sell large amounts at a time even if you're doing so at a bit of a loss. 2. Ignore transactions worth only a few crates after the first year or two. Visiting a port too often makes it risky and it's better to avoid that as long as possible. 3. Don't be afraid to go for a good deal in a risky port if you have spare money to afford a fine and/or have more ships than you need. If you don't have five boats you always get a new one whenever your tea arrives in England, so if a boat gets caught between orders just surrender it since you'll just turn around and get a new one anyway. As long as you have two or three boats you're fine.

Under rating threshold (show) 1500 crates of tea shipped almost 1900 crates of opium. With a wealthy retirement. Still can't get the badge of 80 mil is it even possible. But overall a very fun game. Play it a few times to get the feel of it. Actually read the little dialogue boxes and stock up on tea early for breathing room. Hit opium and tea at low prices, avoid risky ports later in the game you will be depending on have several ships to hit good deals. The game already says this I'm just trying to give and extra hand good luck!!

Under rating threshold (show) The market trends are very harsh, buying the stuff takes an entire week, and that too in a limited number. Prices also fluctuate REALLY fast, in a week, the price once went up by 90. Otherwise, a good game. Quite accurate history, and also an interesting story.

Under rating threshold (show) Britain sold opium to China to get huge profits and after the chinese realize that its bad for them, they began to destroy opium. Then came the british to force them to buy opium. WTF?!

Under rating threshold (show) For everyone that thinks that the tea is given away, it isn't. England is paying you in ships, British Pounds, and possibly the capital to get started. The price of silver was going up. England was on the gold standard, so it needed to buy its silver from other countries. In theory, it would just be simpler for England to pay you in pounds, get all of your silver from opium sales, spend it all on tea, and keep your income and expenses for Pounds and silver separate to avoid exchange fees, which were much greater than then now.

Under rating threshold (show) I always get to the final couple years and can't seem to buy tea fast enough. It would be really nice to have amounts larger than 30 crates. You have to push that button a lot to get 400/500 crates of tea. Love the game though! Addicting... like opium and tea.

Under rating threshold (show) It would be helpful if we could see what our tea goal is, not just how angry people are. I really like this concept, but I just can't tell weather I'm winning or losing. Also why do we lose our job when Britain's mood is *high*? Shouldn't low mood be bad instead? Or maybe rename the meter 'anger' instead of 'mood'?

Under rating threshold (show) I like the graphics and the sounds - very smooth - but I'm having serious trouble telling tea chests from opium chests and especially buying from selling. The first several hands I played I thought I was buying stock, and was waiting for the lowest price. This game has real potential, but when doing a triangle trade, it really, really needs to be clearer than "X crates for Y money."

Under rating threshold (show) If you think you're giving away free tea, you're not. You're just pocketing the profits of your shipments. For example, let's say you sell 600 billion cups of tea. Sell each cup at 1 pence net profit, that makes 290 million pounds profit. That's 21.3 billion pounds in today's prices! Sadly, the Chinese only bartered in silver, and Britain wasn't going to open its treasury and give its silver to anyone, least of all China. In other words, your opium/tea business will be worth more than the software empire of Bill Gates (80 billion USD), but you can't use your profits to get any more silver coins. I think something the developers didn't think of is that just because you have to spend your silver coins on tea, doesn't mean you have to spend silver coins on opium as well. Allowing the use of English currency to buy opium would have added an extra layer of complexity and common sense to the game AND lowered the difficulty a little. It'd also show you you're actually making money. Sigh -_-

Under rating threshold (show) So... I have to spend silver to get opium to get silver to get tea to give it away to increase Britain's tea demands to lose money to try to get more to get risky deals to lose my boats to lose good opium deals to lose tea to lose British tea demands to lose business. In other words, you've screwed yourself from the very minute you enter the tea business.

Under rating threshold (show) How is it that England has to pay me 0 for tea? I also can't sell my ships when I need to, and that aggravates me. Can't you make it to where England actually PAYS you for your work, AND you can sell your ships whenever? It would make this not so... impossible and frustrating. Even IF I get close to the end, I never even get CLOSE to 80mil for the badge, let a lone finish it.

Under rating threshold (show) In hectic times, having the "being caught dealing" popup hinders with open deals. Whatever choice you pick, the "fade out" is in the way of being able to click on a deal waiting to be accepted. Even if for a slight moment it is too much and during a chaotic amount of trade going going on, every unnecessary hindrance is too much. This GUI look-and-feel "feature" is in the way of gameplay, please fix it.
