love this game, 5/5, favourite. Cactus McCoy what a name, the game is similar to GunBot but not to similar. Lots of challenges etc, skills which aren't hard or easy to max. If it ain't shooter, it ain't right ;) You can even change the controls. Great game.

there should be a sign before you end the level. that way you can go back if you haven't finished your collection challenge.

I really liked this game, and thought it worth playing right through. Mind you, I started to doubt the historical veracity of the setting at about Sunset Gulch, with the bazookas and self-guiding parachute bombs and all. I reckon this is a character you could expand on - sequels, cartoons, toys, lunchboxes and all.

I recently beat Cactus McCoy 2 100%, so I was thinking, "Did I finish the original game?" Sure enough, I went on this game, and much to my surprise, I'm only at 67%. Better get to work!

This game has been extremely well made. The intelligence of the characters and the great graphics and music simply makes this game fashionably applaudable. 5 stars from me! XD

On the last level, the squirt gun is in the upper left section of the maze, that should help you find it. By the way, I've found that using the squirt gun is an easy way to get the "Defeat the boss without dying" challenge : it is reasonably powerful now that you have your shooting stat maxed, and since it has HUGE load of water you can basically spam water in his face for the whole fight. Also, it's pretty fun.

I really want to like this game. It has a lot of polish. But the farther I get, the more of a chore it is to beat the challenges, and some of the obstacles are just frustrating and unnecessary (IE intelligent? parachute bombs). Now I find myself playing just to get the badges. For sequels I would keep the combat system and make your game more like the old Genesis game Streets of Rage, because that's the fun part of the game.

A secret to prolonged juggling: use a melee weapon and tap a jump right after you hit (this is called jump-cancel in fighting games). This makes you skip a punching animation and lets you run to enemigo landing spot, turn around and smack him again. Rinse and repeat as many times as necessary for an insane amounts of combo score and money.

This is one of the most polished games I have seen in Flash form. It feels more like an Xbox Arcade game than a free game on the internet.

Great game Flip! After RoS, I'm sold on anything you produce until observed otherwise! This game has just about everything I need; Upgrades, mini-quests, secrets, levels, the main character is a freakin cactus man...I mean seriously, what more could you want?

A pretty funny story and obviously quite a lot of work put into the game, but it's nothing I feel like I want to continue playing after a few stages. There's no sense of reward and progress. It's too much of a brawler and the variety and breakage of weapons has a downside; you can't stick to a favourite weapon. You can upgrade certain weapon types, but for me it's too much repetitive combat that you don't have control over because of all variations and hard to hit spots that enemies are in. Punching kind of stunlock, which doesn't exactly make the combat more interesting; it just takes time and button mashing. Most weapons I found, are much weaker than I expected. Punching seems to do more damage and is more reliable than guns. The challenges and stages overall feel like they are too long, especially if you replay them. Some graphics blend into the environment. Can't give more than 3 stars, and most of that is from the effort since I can't say that I'm enjoying the game unfortunately.

If you look closely at the thumbnail for this game, it looks like the cactus is a middle finger being pointed at you.

Must say.. He's a pretty durable Cactus. I mean, surviving machete and axe attacks? The Indians would have been screwed trying to get water out of that cactus on the Great Plains...

There are very few games that make me want to finish and get every in game achievement above and beyond the Kong achievements. This game is one of them...well done. 5/5

Very well done! Great gameplay, the game stays fun and has good replay value of levels with the fun challenges. Worth of hours of fun.

This game was simply astonishing: controls are really smooth, as expected given the experience with Ros engine, treasure box are very smartly hidden, challenges are well designed and the locations are various enough that even the collection quests don't feel boring. Fightings get decently challenging towards the end of the game; I would suggest adding some different type of enemy, since the world is populated with too many humanoids. Last level felt a bit rushed and most of the ingame badges are too much grind oriented, but anyway those are minor complaints in a nonetheless awesome work. 5/5

The only thing that I need to do is getting that impossible 60x Combo on the boss fight. Can anyone please give me advice on how to get it?

While I would appreciate the ability whip upwards and diagonally... I imagine it's a pretty difficult skill to master. Takes practice, even for a half man/half cactus

This is definitely one of my favourite flash games. Like other have said, it's the little details that make this so great, along with the good physics and satisfying hit mechanic. I am playing with an xbox controller using x-padder and it is so much fun.
I would love to see more like this from you, or to see this made into a series.
