Nice simple run/ race type game. The fact the upgrades are objective base is a nice touch to keep you playing. The simple graphics but complex shadowing is great at keeping the focused on avoiding the rocks and walls but noting the sun going down as the shadows grow longer. This is a perfect example of how a few well put together simple things can out way the big flashy high graphic over done games. Quality work, well done.

Please add a tris counter showing how many youve collected in your current run, would make the 150 tris challenge slightly less irritating.

Sweet game, it would be nice if one could use the "W" key to jump, though. I find WASD a much more comfortable hand position plus my arrow keys are kinda sticky, so I was glad to find I could steer with "A" and "D", but like I said it would be cool to be able to use "W" to jump

so everybody is having trouble getting the 150 tris thing if you get as much tris as you can and power down? then you either got it or you need to try again.

OK - Things i need to stop me going insane. 1) a sign from the developers that they understand my pain and my utter inability to get 150 tris in one round - FEEL MY PAIN. 2) Some kind of counter to show me as I go if i am getting close. I've tried counting as i go but too thick for that.
We understand your pain :) There is in fact a counter, if you pause with the Escape key, you'll see all of your current objective's progress.
Also, we can say that only about 5% of players have unlocked this objective so far, so we'll definitely be revisiting this particular one for sure. Thanks for your feedback!

Have to agree with the general consensus - 150 tris in a round is so hard!!! Let us progress dev's - not all of us are superhuman gamers
Sure! Here are a few tips:
1. Use the magnet ability.
2. Use the escape key to pause during a round and see your current progress
3. Don't focus on getting every single tri - instead, focus on staying alive, collecting speed boosts to outpace the sun, and collecting as many as you reasonably can. Best of luck!

So I used the jump powerup and ended up clipping on the edge of one of the tall spikes. Now I'm stuck, not able to die, and not able to glance of...

This game is excellent, however the collection objective gets ridiculous pretty quickly, I'd cut down those numbers as rather than add a challenge (at least to me) they just prevent me from getting my next upgrade for a long period of time. It kind of makes the game too grindy.

i cant seem to collect 1500 total triplets i checked my stats and it says i have 4448 triplets. do i have to collect 1500 in a round? pls answer

Ok, very sweet, very addictive, very frustrating. This would make an excellent example of how distracted driving will kill you and others. I can't get past the first region if the radio is on. I made it to the 4th region with total game concentration. And am I insane or is getting 150 blue things impossible? I swear I counted 60 triplets, but still can't get the check box to fill up. Looking forward to all the improvements!

In overal it's a very good game.
A good idea might be to allow players to collect jump-pickups (and other pickups for that matter, I haven't played that far yet) because I don't really use them immediatly, but rather save them for when I need them.

for some reason I am unable to activate abilities. Or It doesn't look like it does anything when i click them. Does someone know why?

The premise I have in my head for this game:
You are a high tech solar car from the future. You are having repairs done and your battery is removed for repair, because of a freak electrical storm you gain self-awareness. With basic knowledge of the world you realize your only chance to live past the night is to outrun the sun. You make a break for it.

GREAT GAME. Only problem is, you need to put obstacles directly in front to force movement. I went all my runs without having to even move, until i decided to, to make it fun.

I love getting my hands on an alpha game because, although rough and usually glitchy(not this one, well done on that), you can really see the heart of the developer in it, and you can imagine what an amazing game it could be. You have clearly been working hard on this game, and I have to say, it's amazing. It runs really really well, especially since it's a 3D game, and procedurally generated. All in all it's a great game, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished project.

Yeah for anyone who didn't know this is a copy of a game called Jet Slalom, with fancy graphics. Would be nice to at least give credit. Both are good games though!
Believe it or not, we hadn't actually heard of this game before today :) We've also seen it compared to Cubefield, and an old arcade game called Space Harrier. If you'd like to read a bit more about its inspiration and development, check out: http://flippfly.com/tag/racethesun/
Thanks for playing, and we hope you enjoy it!

i achieved yesterday lvl 6 mission (3 stages untouched) and got my 5% bonus.....then today i finished challenge of getting over 147k in score (another 5%)......but my total bonus only reads as 5% when i believe it should be 10%....unless you are only making it 1 per day with no carry over (which would suck)....i would like to be able to get 100% over 20 days and get an unbeatable score. can you fix???
Ahh yes - to clarify, you can only ever achieve a total of a 5% bonus for any given day. The idea is to provide a unique challenge each day and a reward for achieving it. We think allowing the multipliers to continually stack would introduce some balancing issues where maxed-out players would have too great an advantage.
However, in the full version, there will be a total of 3 daily objectives.

the multi-jump power seems pretty worthless compared to the magnet...
At least remove the 5 jump cap, but I think it should maybe increase the spawn rate too or instead or something.

a lot of things missing, but i like the original idea. add some weapons and more types of planes. upgrades and better grafix. and i think it can reach good rating

Yes I really really really suggest a tris counter. I've no idea of how I'm doing against the 150 challenge. I've even tried to count them as I get them :)

alexx: Not sure the 150 tris objective should be removed, it obviously *is* challenging but not impossible, but it seems so much harder than the other ones at that level. It might want to be a bit later on in the game, IMO (not having seen what later challenges are like, of course).
It's getting quite frustrating not being able to find out what other challenges I could be trying for if I'd managed that one...

I have to add two points to my previous post:
1) I definitely want a tris counter for my current round.
2) Don't get rid of the 150 tris objective. It was challenging but not impossible.
Hi, the music doesn't have a names yet, but was composed by Forest exclusively for the game. If you'd like to be able to get it in soundtrack form along with the rest of the music for the game when it's finished, check out our store here: http://flippfly.com/store/
Thanks for playing!

Love this game, the light/shadow/speed effects are awesome. My only complaint is the "150 tris" achievement. I know a few people have done it, but I try over and over and over, magnet equipped, and can't do it and therefore can't advance in the game. It's frustrating. Maybe there should be a "mercy rule", like if you try 150 times you can skip the Achievement. Great game though, 5/5

At first I'm like, "Aww . . . no upgrades!" -Advances in rank and sees new content- . . . . "AWWWWW YEEEEEAAAAHHHHH!!!!"
