I don't get it. Too complicated for a quick game. But it feels like it's good. Maybe it's just in my head that's it's good with the great music and graphics. Who knows? But I think the special features are hard to understand.

Re: Red Dwarf. Ouroboros means never ending, and the traditional symbol is a snake eating its own tail. Lister and Kochanski wrote Ouroboros on the box they left young Lister in, so that when he was older he would realise that as long as he lived and had a child the human race would never become extinct.
Of course he never worked this out until the end, being, well, Lister.

I just uploaded a new version of Oroboros that adds lots of new content, and hopefully clears up some of the confusing bits.
There are enhancements to the enemies, and also to your abilities. You can now switch between Blades and Armor by pressing (x) and (z). I'll leave the rest of the details for you to discover on your own. Make sure you read the new infos in the game if you are unclear on anything.
Have fun

It was definitely inspired by fl0w: the graphical style and sound effects prove this. It's still a fun game in its own right, though.

Half of these critters floating around, I don't know if they're bad guys or power-ups. This is easily the most confusing and ill-explained game I've played here. BUT... more explanation of what these critters and power-ups are would go a long way to earning at least 4 stars if not 5! It's otherwise a fun game, and I love the look!

The gameplay is a good deal different from fl0w, barring the "go around eating things". The screen's size seems claustrophobic for the size of the Ouroboros, though.

Well, I'll give you credit for being original, but other than that, this is nothing special. Like said before, some more in-depth instructions and possibly a tutorial is needed. 2/5

I've been listening to all of your comments, and later today I'll be uploading a new version with changes based on the feedback.
It's going to be much better!

Fun little game, but after level 10 or so there's no difficulty increase, and it's just the same level over and over. And explanation of blades and armor and all that crap needs to be more clear. Otherwise fun.

It's funny, everyone says this is like flow, but it is only like flow superficially and in the fact that you have a worm. Flow is not a dodging based game, and Oroboros does not have the main feature of flow -- it was designed to let the player control their own difficulty in the game as you play. Honestly, they're really not the same.

Any game that features the voice of Daft Punk deserves at least a 3/5. It's a difficult game, don't get me wrong, and the learning curve is fairly steep , but it does manage to be graphicially impressive for it's simplicity, combining Retro Effects with hi-fi techno. Good work. 4/5

It looks and sounds good, but I also found it confusing. I couldn't tell what things were, or how to armour or blade the tail. I spent evo points on these and it made no obvious difference. Perhaps there is some power-up you need? This game *really* needs a key telling you what everything does.

This game looks good and is fun but I gotta be honest, I'm confused as hell. First can you kill enemies or not? I found even with blades you can only kill the bee looking thing by circling them and nothing else seems killable. Second, what are the colored orbs that come up? Are they power ups bonuses traps or what? In short visually appealing but needs a lot more instructions. 2/5

Nevermind, great game! Audio is bit agressive may be =)

That was beautiful Grier! You nailed it right on the money!
I would just add that the power ups serve to change up the game play more than anything. for instance, if a blade hits a white energy cluster, it kills it --meaning you can't eat it. Armor on the other hand keeps you safe for up to 3 impacts, but still allows you to eat the energy, since it just bounces off. You might say that armor is better in this sense.
It's all designed to help you keep your point multipliers climbing, which is the main goal.

K... I think I got it. If your tail segments hit anything - even the white things you eat - they get destroyed. Eat enough white things and get another segment. Lose all your segments and game over. Armor blocks the side missiles and pushes the white things aside, blades destroys what it runs into while destroying the blade as well. Enemies can't really be dealt with, so what I found worked was go for the white things, put points in agility and tail cohesion, and to heck with the details.

I'm very confused... I understand that the blade powerup lets you destroy things you run into a limited number of times, but what does the armor do and why do I keep losing segments? I honestly don't see anything hitting them... do the little white things hurt me?

At the start of each level, when the menu pops out, there is info about each new creature and how to kill or avoid them.

I agree with a lot of posts here -- I loved the game, and almost everything about it. But I'm still a bit confused... which are seekers, swarmers, and warpers? What are the little purple things? Do my blades do anything when non-maxed? How about armor? I think some of the game became clearer when you added info, but not all of it.
