Month 2: As I neared completion of the Thunderstorm Campaign, I slowly lost my will to go on. "You can do it. Do it for Shrek", I told myself. As my strength withered and my hand slowly developed carpal tunnel, I knew the 60 points were still attainable, yet so far away.

Just a quick note on Thunderstorm campaign: Have faith in Thunder globes. In short stages, they'll be pretty useless, but if you manage to max 4-5 of these babies, you're gonna rock. Seriously.

For all guys who dont wanna search long for the secret way to get the achievment:
You have to complete the first 5 Missions with 5 Stars (easy with upgraded dmg and reloadspeed and more points per kill so u dont need ur troops just ur flag cannon)

the hard badge is not that hard, just do the 3 sub-quests one by one, with reseting your upgrades if necessary between each one ;-) do it on a long enough level (14 waves), and use the asked calls as often as possible!

the 88 flak cannon was arguably the best AA artillary every made. it was so effective it was used as an AntiTank gun. you did NOT want to fly into a wall of 88 flak. good chances are you didnt make it out.

Urg. This game is LONG. And repetitive. Almost have the special campaigns unlocked...And then i'm gonna have to do it it 2 more times. Ugh.

@rapmitchell I think its in england, because they were bombed by balloons in world war one. There was water in the way, thats why they didnt send in ground forces. My guess anyways...

Since balloons are flying left to right and your missions have you constantly beeing pushed right, and you are on defense, doesnt that mean you are somehow losing after each battle?

As others have said, the "impossible" badge is more of a test of endurance than talent. Don't sweat the 10,000,000 point requirement -- frankly, completing the campaign with *less* than 10,000,000 points would be the harder challenge!

Impossible badge is just a test of patience. Keep mouse button pressed... spam '1', '2', '3'. Rinse. Repeat. Score? Who cares about score. Just get me to the next darned level.

Glad I gave this another try for the badge the other day. Last time I played this, I never really latched onto the upgrading concept. These older games are great, I cannot stand how kongregate has turned into 95% idle games... like WTF!?

if you ask a flak 88 to destroy an airplane or tank sure no prob, take out some trucks easy but ask it to shoot a balloon and its reputation is soiled! lol

Tanks111: blimps hit only 3 buildings per pass and the boos blimps hit at most 6 buildings: this is vital on later stages where you cant kill them in one round.

heh, the thunder globe can actually do a lot of damage at level 5
each hit does about 800-1000 damage, a shot every second. a really hit DPS compared to all the other buildings other than your main flak

Rubbish. A grind and a half, unclear progression of skills, a 90 degree difficulty curve. Very very poor implementation of a fun concept. Also needs a soundtrack and a way to earn experience without beating a level.

Also if you max your main turret skills after maxing the Balloon Blast Score Gain you should be able to beat levels 1 and 2 without spawning anything for a fairly high maximum score if you need a little boost.

I love this game, it's so cool, but it gets really laggy when you blow up a couple zeppelins at the same time, and when all of your extra defenses are destroyed on the boss levels, they stream out on each pass enough bombs to destroy you 3 times over....It sucks actually, but to avoid that, get a lot of money! And don't don't have any defenses on the ground in front of you....

*sigh* What this game really needs is either an 'are you sure?' dialog before quitting to main menu, or to auto-save the game after finishing a level, rather than right before starting one. Can't count how many times I've lost a level's progress at this point due to accidentally clicking the wrong box...

Why are so many gameinabottle games like this, a good base concept ruined by a ridiculous game length. It's a flash game, I don't want twenty hours of extremely repetitive gameplay out of it.

Lack of autosave was a surprise. Really disappointed to come back and continue my game, to find nothing to continue. The need to hit save I guess would have been more obvious if you didn't need to mouse-over that tab to see it. Even though I wasn't terribly far in (5 or 6 missions) I completely lost interest in playing more after seeing progress lost.

I'm currently halfway through the Impossible badge. At this point, I would pay seriously good money for a Row of Giant Fans. Or a 2X speed button.

For Elite Campaign : Max out Accuracy, Shell speed, Shell damage , Reload Speed. Put only 5 points on Firing speed and no points on ammunition at all. This way you won't have to worry about having downtime waiting for the main weapon to recharge its shots. As for turrets i went full flak cannon 5-6 of em and a freezing ray placed in front of them. This configuration is a cookie cutter for the elite gameplay. Of course in combination with maxxed out winged bombs , airstrike and support fire. Hf!

I"d turn back if there were 3 rockets,flak,planes,back up flak,winged bombs,and triple cannons all shooting at you at the same time......

This game is good for what it is, but that doesn't mean it's great. The game (and the badge) would be much better if Fuel of War wasn't there. If you've beaten the game on Elite, you're going to have no problem beating this version. The game takes way too long to complete a lvl. Some of this is necessary for difficulty progression, some of it is just painful. You really need a continuous fire option...
