@ aee369: the easiest is captain and the hardest is admiral... This is because in real life the Admiral ranks higher than the Captain.

I'd like to add that firing cannons at the enemy ships decrease their value, so when you're going for your accuracy bonus make sure you don't get too carried away :)

Like many people, I can't move with WASD keys or arrows either. But when I used mozilla instead of chrome, it worked :D

I am having the same problem as krashkill0069, I can't move, or do anything for that matter. The only keys that work in-game are Ctrl, V, and P. This is a serious problem that needs looking into, especially when it's part of a quest. If this doesn't get fixed I swear I will give this game a 1/5.

Level 12 on Admiral is a piece of cake. Just follow harvestsun's instructions, but keep in mind that after level 2 100% accuracy bonus would be better than All ammo saved bonus. So make one shot with 2-3 cannonballs - and additional money is yours!
Now let's talk about how to complete the final challenge. You see, this Big Bad Ship has one nasty ability: additional ships spawn. It doesn't count towards ship total, and appear after some part of boss total hp is gone... So let's fight him without dealing damage at all. You need save your pirates on board across all level encounters. Dodge like hell, don't let engage yourself in close combat, damage, damage, damage. Oh... and save at least 120-130 pirates for Boss. When you succeed and the boss finally appears, just let your pirates make bloody carnage on it's ship decks =))). Yes, they CAN kill 400+ enemies. YAARRRrrrrrr! Plus this to keep it on top!

I found harvestsun's strategy very helpful. However, if you get a very high accuracy score, you can get more than a 2500 gold bonus after you beat a level. Basically, only shoot an enemy ship when you're right on top of them.

I...well...I'm not quite sure how this works,My ship has full health and I rn into 2 ships and they kill me instantly, also when I try to kill another ship,it ends up dying before I even get it's health down,so,yeah I don't even

Major difficulty curve... 1-9 are boring as all getout (using above strategies), and 10-11 are nasty, 12 is just about impossible. I'm good at these games and I cannot kill that giant ship.

12 Boss tip: if you leave 2 wrecks (without plundering them) after the boss come, his helpers will not show :) Hopes this helps :)

Both Harvestsun and XenoShadow215's tacticts are working quite well, howewer combining them works even better. H mentioned that he failed to always hit 100% of cannonballs, but that is probably because of not being close enough. Since you can both assault and shoot at the same time, just charge into the enemy ships, turn all cannons towards them and fire. Even thoug you might miss 1-5% this way, its still more efficient.

I tried out Harvetsun's tactics and on level 5 or so, my pirates all got killed off despite having been maxed out already. Think it may have been because I was occasionally fighting multiple ships at once.

I cannot play this game, The only buttons that work are CTRL (shoot) and V(change gun direction). No other buttons do anything, i cannot move. Again, as i have read before this is the only game that my AWSD buttons do not work, or F for that matter.

It is possible to kill the boss by close combat. Try to save the most men you can (I reached the boss with 132 men) and just keep your ship close to him and make sure you keep firing your cannons. I killed the boss and 3 ship that appeared while we were battling.

Definitely a 5/5. I particularly praise the difficulty which, even on hard mode, never felt unfair. I failed a few times on level 12 but every time I knew that I had made a glaring error somewhere. The only criticisms I have are that the final boss does way to much damage considering everything you have to fight before him on that level. It's nothing you can't over come but still a bit annoying. Secondly, I'm not a big fan of the fact that by far the best strategy is one that's a bit counter to the game's mechanics (i.e. using "melee" only for the first 9 levels). Still excellent game, follow the top rated comment guides and you won't have much trouble. Oh, but lord could this game use an autosave haha.
