Best bit of advice I can give in regards to the boss?
Stop jumping.
I fought the entire battle on foot, and in doing so the pattern of the boss' bullets became incredibly easy to predict and avoid. Once you start jumping around, the boss seems to move away from you and is just not possible to shoot down. Just be patient, do some running around and dodging of the bullets and eventually he will drop down to the ground and let you get a shot in. Rinse and repeat for four total shots and you're good. The boss doesn't seem to change his pattern of attack at all through the process, so once you've figured out the rhythm you are golden.
p.s. - was anyone else reminded of a stormtrooper when he first popped out?

Another tip for those who might want to try to rush to the boss battle: upgrade your jump and double-jump, and take the shortcut on the left of where you start. Takes mere seconds to get to the end that way (but kinda useless if you're trying to grind coins instead).

I find one fault with the game, and that is with the boss. The boss tries to dodge lazer shots if you jump by moving up normally. However, if you jump during the landing to get more hits in, they do not reduce the boss's health bar. This makes no sense. It is a minor irritation, the rest of the game is fine for a quick jaunt.

The boss starts being vulnerable right when he starts rising to prepare for the drop to the ground. If you double jump next to him and shoot him when this occurs, you can save a few seconds.

God, this game is boring. Having to go back to the same spot and repeat the same actions over and over to get enough coins gets old fast.

How could johnny be jumping in the spikes? Isn't he gonna jump more higher? How about high as you jump on a trampoline? Is he going to jump high over the enemies? This is frustrating.

The ending credits were tremendously too long. I just wanted to get my achievement and play another game but I had to wait like another 4-5 minutes to watch the credits so I could get my achievement other than that it was a pretty stellar game.

Ooh! What a great game! I wonder where I place on the high scores table! *checks high scores* ...I should just give up, the top score beats me x15. Why would you cheat? xD

Addendum to what Weiszklee said: once your hero is maxed out/upgraded to your satisfaction (& thus able to ignore coins in favor of speed), turn left at the start & double jump to the path you see will take a shortcut past much of the level. (there will be a few enemies in your way, though, so maybe get the gun maxed first) With my hero maxed out, This allowed me to beat the boss with 45 seconds on the clock.

fun game but I am regularly teleported to a deeper layer where I can move around but not visibly and not within the playable area.

There's a shortcut on the lefthand side when you start to help you cut a load of time once you've got your double jump!

Congrats on being the first 2D platformer to make me nauseous due to the jerky camera (usually only happens on FPSs). Still liked the game enough to play it to the end though

Adding to what Weisklee said; that tactic gives you ~20 seconds between each hit on it. Entering the fight with 95 seconds leaves you with 7 seconds when you kill it, if you make no mistakes.

I'm rating this game 3/5. What it's got is good - but it's missing a lot. Perhaps, a second more difficult boss and .. basically more. Nice game though, thanks.
