basically challenges 15-17 are luck - think of it as trying to roll 6 6's on dice or something -- one interesting note, i have never gotten value from 'city of r'yleh' the one where opp goes insane because his very next card kills me -- its almost as if its programmed that way

I got all the achievements but the medium one-> "25 damage dealt (single attack)". I´ve done attacks higher than 25 dmg and attacks exactly 25 dmg. When i completed the game and i got the stats it said my highest attack was "uneine". I take it that is german for "not one/no single". So, my question is: how do you do a so called "single attack" in the game?

Miles, you have played the challenges right? Story mode is perfectly easy, sometimes too easy, but the challenge mode, a lot of them are absolutely ridiculous. And I've figured the major issue for a lot of them (especially challenge 13 and 15) is the fact that you have so little health, literally every single attack card except one will kill you in one go. The only way you could have possibly done good for challenge 15 is starting with a lucky hand and the AI deciding to be an idiot. This game is great, the challenges are not.

@ballesta25 If you're getting a 17% chance of the opponent _not_ being able to kill you on the first turn in challenge 15 then apparently you need to start a new game from the beginning and do much better each game. Your performance in each round impacts how quickly you level. Do more damage, take less damage, do it all in a low amount of time, and you will level really well. Perform horribly and your odds of being defeated against later opponents goes up. I don't know if it approaches 83% by round 15, but I leveled fairly evenly with the opponent and had no problems come round 15.

So much hate! Only reason I can see people have so much trouble with the game is not fully understanding the game mechanics? I definitely didn't fully understand it myself for a while, but now I aim to drive my opponent insane as quickly as possible and then abuse that vulnerability as best as I can while keeping my own sanity up, going full force with arcane power and elder sign defense, and dropping some taint on my enemy. It's not EASY to play, but it feels to me like a fair challenge.

It pisses me off how the game plays the perfect counter every time on the challenges... when I take him down, suddenly he plays three heal cards. When I taint him, he responds with Blessing of Hastur. Really annoying, but at the same time makes me want to beat it more and more.

OK, that last badge was a real cookie. Challenge 15 was all about a lucky starting hand, more or less, but I got lucky and won on my 3rd or 4th try. I finished challenge 20 with the Shotgun, after trying everything else, including Yog-Sothoth, Raid, Tommygun, and everything else in between. I suppose it may be a random choice of card.

Got Yog-Shogoth and City of Ryleh in the same hand on challenge 20, basically got 50+ free damage from those two cards and got the guy below zero. Then I ended up killing him with Blast'em the next turn.

Got up to challenge 13. The whole thing is based more on the luck of the cards that you get than strategy. No wonder that achievement is impossible. It's a great game, but these challenges are way too frustrating.

The 'story mode' of the game is quite easy, only a few times I ran into an unlucky streak, so not too bad. The challenges seem to make up for that...

Medium achievement: "Deal 25 damage with a single attack, then finish the round and view the results"
I did 29 dmg, finished the round, viewed the results but didn´t get the achievement. And the dmg bar is stuck on 0. Oh well...

It seems that, win or lose, the opponent's rank increases by one each time. This makes playing very difficult if you've lost a few games. There comes a point where you are just screwed and can't recover. Very defeating and unfortunate.

Yay, last badge for the Scared Stiff Quest! As for the game itself, it's a decent game from 2008, so 3/5 Stars. Problems with it is that it has no storyline or deck customization. Good points for it is that it isn't to heavily luck based. Just return to the title screen if you won't gain a bunch of points in a round, and you'll easily reach Lv. 30 quickly.

Controling the task at hand seems to be more important than to control your own self if you truly want to face the Old Gods. Alas, we may become a little bit more prepared thanks to this hardcore simulation. Thank you and I wish all of you the best of luck before going insane.

Challenges where the opponent has a greater than 50% chance of killing you on the first turn before you even have a chance to TRY to win.. Gives this game 2 stars. Entertaining, but hardly a chance to actually play.

... I did well over 25 damage several times, when I finished my runthrough it had 'uneine' listed in my damage slot and I didn't get the badge. kind of annoying, although I got my 'great cthulhu' one just fine

The developer should be ashamed. It isn't a 'challenge' if the only way to win is by being dealt the right cards. You can die on the first turn no matter what you do.

Wow, he dropped me to 1hp, I lasted with this health for 10 rounds, until I managed to deal my first 25 damage attack and finished him, what a war! Very nice game!

Challenge 15 is a crock of s*** and while I enjoyed your game overall, I'm giving it one star just for the inclusion of that invitation to get f***ed by the rng for as long as you feel like wasting your time. If you're going to put in something "insanely hard" at least make it have something to do with skill. Hell, you could at least put a "retry" button instead of having to go back to the challenge menu, click challenge 15, and click start challenge.

Does someone have a way to maximize rank up amount per round? This could be very handy later on as you will have much more power at your disposal.

Lack of deck customization removes any semblance of strategy from this game. The abundance of cards that can completely turn the game around on luck of the draw is absurd. No matter how well you play, there's not even a reasonably good chance that you'll win. In short, there are better card games out there.

If you're really going to make me restart challenges repeatedly, waiting for that 1 in 50 initial draw that is playable; at least make the animations faster.
