Alright, there's a fine line between requiring a reasonable amount of luck vs. essentially being a glorified slot machine, based 100% on luck. Most of the challenges are the latter. Oh, and to thesecondzohan, the primary theme was always supposed to be the idea that humans are caught up in their own lives, never considering the horrors that lie just beyond their sights. Humans were never pawns; in his stories they're generally just weak, oblivious little nothings that often meddle in things far beyond their comprehension. Saying randomness has anything to do with it is a huge stretch. No, the game captures the meaning of the stories by often having the player themselves being harmed by their magic just as much as their opponent due to humans lacking the capacity to control such immeasurable forces. I think the randomness is just an annoying result of poor planning on the dev's part.

The real trick to Normal Mode is the following:
-1) Try and maximize your score, I beat the game in 22 rounds because I jumped several ranks due to good play.-
-2) The game does not nullify your score if you back from a lousy setup, instead it merely restarts that round.-

I LOVED THIS GAME! As a former Tyrant player it was nice to play a card game that wasn't based on stamina points with 800+ cards in the library. I enjoyed the fact this game only had 40 cards and only single player. Smaller card pools allowed me to pick up on the game easier and appreciate the real charm here - and that's the combat. The whole "insanity" element to the game really keeps you on your heels and allows for more strategy as supposed to just taking down someone's health bar. I also liked other abilities such as "taint" and also the counter attacks of the monsters. When you first start playing you'll think the game looks rather simplistic in nature, but trust me what's here is fairly deep and rewarding.

Was only going to grab the easy badge, but after seeing a card called "The King In Yellow" I think I'll stick around for awhile.

I have just earned the Impossible badge. It is not that hard, just lengthy, and a good amount of luck is required to have the right cards. You have to play the same challenge several times to win. Patience is the key.

Beat challenge 21. Believe me it was a huge crunch to get there. Just get the opponent to go insane really fast preferably with schizophrenia or meglomania.

The only part that makes this impossible badge so frustrating is that you can't just restart the mission you are in, rather you have to go back to the challenge menu, select the challenge again, the start the mission over that way. Really wish I could just get a new hand when I know I am going to lose right away, or that I could just restart the mission when I do lose.

@MrDucky13 report a missing achievement with screenshot proof of you completing it. There's a big button with "Report missing achievement" written on it below the list of badges. Saying that your badge didn't register in the comments isn't going to change anything.

-WARNING: SPOILER ALERT- Great game! Impossible badge only 2-3 hrs. (and that includes beating the main game again) and maybe 200-300 retries on challenges (some deaths were instant). All challenges made sense and were trial and error (even 21 remember its a "trick"). But 20 was confounding. How was I supposed to know you need the shotgun to kill him. I guess it makes sense by zombie logic. But there are no zombies in game. And none of the other cards descriptions mean anything. Just sayin. Also thought you needed to kill him by causing "Megalomania" status and then hitting him with a huge blow since his health regenerates. Overall one of my favorite flash card games though despite the confusing challenge. 4.5/5

I'm sorry but, how does the Easy achievement/badge have anything to do with ''scary stuff'' for the quest? Seriously... a card game. Most people that came to do the quest are stuck to even how to get yourself ''insane''...

I got all the achievements but the medium one-> "25 damage dealt (single attack)". I´ve done attacks higher than 25 dmg and attacks exactly 25 dmg. When i completed the game and i got the stats it said my highest attack was "uneine". I take it that is german for "not one/no single". So, my question is: how do you do a so called "single attack" in the game?

A hint for those struggling with challenge 15: yes it may be true that the AI could kill you almost any time, but in fact it doesn't play optimally. Just try a few different strategies (I opened with an attack), and with some luck you should beat him in a few rounds (similar to other challenges).

...That moment when you beat the Badge of the Day 7 years ago, and found out that you beat it now to unlock a shiny penguin.

If you're really going to make me restart challenges repeatedly, waiting for that 1 in 50 initial draw that is playable; at least make the animations faster.

challenge 21 tips:
Dont use summon dont trie to gain defence or arcane
Don't give him megalomania.
Give him the summon debuff or the reset all debuff
Kill him
Challenge 20:
Kill him fast and 5-7 time megalomania help.
the rest of the challenge requiere luck and som experience.

I have been playing through the "challenges" and I really should elaborate my point further. The point of a challenge is that one is put in a seemingly impossible situation and has to find the way out of it. This is quite different from your method which consists of dropping players into situations that are literally impossible unless you randomly get the precise set of 10 cards needed to win. This is especially true of 15 as has been said before. I have frequently been powerless to stop the opponent from killing me in the first turn. Challenge mode gets a 1/5.

Epic challenge! Impossible badge earned :) Very fun game once you get into it, had fun earning the hard badge and about 18 of the challenge levels, levels 16 & 19 & 20 were a bit frustrating, 16 is just hard, and 19 & 20 took a few goes to work out how to win, not complaining like others tho, they are called challenge for a reason. 4*'s

This impossible badge is based almost entirely on luck rather than skill. This makes it somewhat easier of an impossible badge to acquire. My advice to you all is to try about 10-20 minutes a day while you're bored, and you should all have the with minimum frustration.

This has been quite a fun time killer, however I am pretty sad that after rounds over and over of getting damages in of 26-30, that I still haven't been awarded the Unholy Power Book Badge. 5 stars though
