Started out Challenge 18 with Yog Sothoth. Cost opponent almost all of his health, and gave him Xenophobic. Got that challenge handed to me on a plate

Challenge 21 is just ridiculous. My arcane and elder points goes to my opponent. Ai's taint come to me. Cant build on my Arcane. Surely tests ones patience.

so, a tip i found out for anyone going through play mode, if you quit out to the menu it'll restart you at the start of the round you quit on. -12 sanity and 2 hp left, with the opponent at 40+ for both? redo! about to win, but low on stats and want to try for a double promotion? redo!

bruxar1, did you view results? (I think I had the same prob and even viewed results, but it's worth checking. Anyway, in my case it worked on the second try.)

Was only going to grab the easy badge, but after seeing a card called "The King In Yellow" I think I'll stick around for awhile.

Really cool game. You really feel like you're evolving into Cthulu. Pro tips: Always play cards that will give all of the good effects, and none of the bad. NEVER waste a card. Arcane is more over-powered than Elder; use Elder Sign to prevent devastating attacks while powering Arcane. Some cards go together, like Yog-Sothoth and City of Rl'yeh; use combos to cripple your opponent. And finally, remember - monsters do not attack every round; they are a counter, and will be weakened or neutered if blocked. If an Elder Thing can be put out, do so; a Shoggoth to remove overpowered monsters is also handy. Like I said, don't waste your cards and only use them when absolutely necessary, and with a bit of luck the battle will just play out. Have fun! P.S. Avoid the challenges - just don't do them. Says a lot when these tips will get you through Challenge 21 but not 15. :(

I enjoyed the game theme (the mythology of H.P. Lovecraft's stories), in addition the dark music, and of course, the quite different card game. The game itself is a bit difficult, but in challenge mode, it is more luck than the technique itself. Only after much persistence i could end that mode. I just found some problems in AI moves, where it sometimes, for example, invoked creatures in xenophobia and put buffs in schizophrenia, besides playing cards randomly, without thinking.

Betrayed has a bug, when the oppoenent has dimensional shambler, and I use betrayed, his elder sign is still subtracted from the attack, althouth DS is said to ignore elder sign

Harley, 30. After playing the sequel, I gotta say that I like this one better; going insane actually means something other than "can't play cards", which makes this game the superior of the two.

Challenge 7's card selection seems bugged. I've played through it more than 20 times easily and rarely get damage cards, whereas the npc appears to have tons of them. I have already beat Challenge 15, and I think I was less frustrated with that (although it did take many more tries...)

Love the Lovecraft inspired themes/art of this game. Great to have a 1-player card game for such. Wish it was a 2-player game too! That would be awe... I mean terrible! Wish I had a live gaming group to enjoy more such turn-based strategic adventure/horror board/card games with. Yes, this game is heavy on luck, but there IS some strategy involved and bad choices will still ruin your chances at victory (Well... There can be no lasting victory against dread Cthulhu, of course, but it's nice to think so!). All about making the most of what you draw and getting an edge on the computer to tip the balance, especuially in the longer running games. So don't complain or Cthulhu will... Hmmm. I guess he does sleep eternally. So maybe he'll pull you into his nightmares and drive you mad? Or at least disrupt your sleep patterns:-p

Someone needs to make this an actual card game, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Would love to drive other people insane with it.

Beat challenge 21. Believe me it was a huge crunch to get there. Just get the opponent to go insane really fast preferably with schizophrenia or meglomania.

The effects in Challenge 21 are not random. Here's what I see happening:
1. Any time you heal, enemy is healed same amount.
2. Increasing enemy's Taint increases your taint by same amount.
3. Any card that increases your Arcane Power increases enemy's Arcane INSTEAD of yours.
