Great concept (a twist to a popular concept). Smart level design. Well balanced. No, it's not hard even beyond level 10. Stop crying! It's a shame that there is walkthrough, because that's probably will be the reason that the game will not receive badges on Kongregate. I gave a peek at the walkthrough just for level 17, because I didn't know that trick for dynamically extending the tentacle over the limit. Every other level is quite obvious when you use your brain. Good job. 5/5 and favorited. Waiting for sequel...

i love microbes , virusus , things like hexcells , and ants , thi sis my new favorite! 5 stars and added to favorites , but , losely , after you played it once you cant replay it again on some special way , maybe some upgrades? or a skill tree so that not everyone will grow to the same imba microbe? skills like spike tentacles or increased max? and online? just a few ideas , ill probaly be underrated but ok xD

this is one game that encouraged me to think outside of the box, there was not one, but many solutions to the given scenario, it was up to you to figure out how. 5/5 and Favorited

If a tentacle is connected to another cell, that cell will receive one with each pulse. The cell sending the tentacle will decrease in number until the tentacle connects,BUT WILL NOT CONTINUE TO DECREASE IN NUMBER,even if connected to an opposing cell.To force that cell to decrease in number an opposing cell must connect to it,or attack one of it tentacles. In the latter case, both cells will decrease by one for every pulse the opposing cell puts out.If a tentacle is cut, then the parts will go to the closer cell of the two. This is a good tactic to quickly take neutral cells, but also has disadvantages. The rate at which a cell give out pulses goes up as its cell type gets bigger,BUT NOT ITS OWN GENERATION.
HUGE tip:Build triangles and other shapes where each cell is sending some tentacles, and each has tentacles connected to it.This will make all of your cells increase in number rapidly.
Rate up for everyone to see.

Evolutive/Devolutive Charts: Spore 1-14 // Embryo 15-39 Devolves at 5 // Pulsar-A 40-79 Devolves at 30 // Pulsar-B 80-119 Devolves at 60 // Ant 120-159 Devolves at 100 // Predator 160-200 Devolves at 140. So you know when to throw tentacles before they devolves and deal less damage, Rate + if this helped you.

18&19 are respectively the hardest.. 20 is too simple to be the end... Rules to Understand: 1) where you cut off is exactly where its split. 2) sending and cutting transfers units faster than just attaching 3)you can stretch tentacle further if you cut a tentacle attached to it when you are running out 4) every time you attach your tentacle to something, the organism moves alittle further the other direction 5) by distancing tentacles you can increase the maximum number of tentacles allowed on the screen 6)larger the organism, the faster your number increases 7)by linking 3 or more together your organisms increase in number faster

cool game but also quite hard game! :O
I mean I'm busy fighing one cell.
I lterally look at the screen a second later and 3 of my cells are suddenly red, all 10+ cells O_o

@NamAnhN4 Connect and cut to quickly capture the two smaller unoccupied cells, then battle the call at lower right while defending the large unoccupied cell from the upper right. Once you conquer the lower right red cell, you should be able to capture the large cell and win.

final quote is by H.G. well author of "the war of the worlds" and "the time machine" if i had to guess its from the war of the worlds which concerns martians invading. hes a good writer and i would recomend reading his books. ( his book is so good when he read it over the radio people thought it was real and committed suicide)

For those having trouble with ANY level, just make sure that your nodes are BOTH reinforcing and getting support from your other nodes. This will ensure that you are growing exponentially

Ive always came back every few months and play through both tentacle war games. I wish they still made them, some of my favorite strategy ever made, love it!

Great game mechanic. An actual tutorial would be nice -- maybe I'm slow, but I had to read comments to understand what was going on with the tentacles and why I wanted to cut them and such.

on level 10 i got so exited to get the "ant" cell, that i had it power everywhere it could. but once i beat the level, my powers faded...

Great evolution of an old standard game.
To really stand out, it really needs some variation. Maybe different kinds of Microbes? Such as one that always only has one tentacle but high birthrate or something.
Really needs a tutorial or something else to differentiate it from a crowded genre (skill tree, environment manipulation, etc.)

ace, just need to be fast on level 17, connect the two further cells to one closest to the enemy, then send out a tentacle and then you need to cut the other tentacles to support the long one going out. Be quick, 3 rushes of support should do it, 4 will make it for sure.

@Hikaru Midomiya where is the challenge in that? If there are evens team it would be easy because you are smarter than the game :) And if there is a walk through then it is possible, but its doing it for yourself which makes it fun :D
