I think what most people are neglecting is the spin. If you hold a direction while in the air, the dude runs faster and faster in that direction, which causes the ball to spin in that direction. When the ball hits the ground, the spin causes it to travel in that direction (sometimes very rapidly, if it had a lot of spin).

Here's a quote from Brad Borne, the maker of Fancy Pants Adventure. He knows how to make fun games. "Hm… well, the most general advice I can give is this: more complex/realistic code does not make better games. Games are about fun, not imitating reality."

the controls in this game make the simplest tasks impossible completely realistic physics wich is what it seems your going for suck all the fun out of a game like this one try playing the game urself and youll possibly find a way to fix the major issues with it

The physics makes perfect sense, you guys need to quit whining. What you think are bad collisions are a result of the direction your ball is spinning. Great game, and really freakin frustrating.

nice game, nobody can say this ain't special =p
lvl 49 was a frustrating one though
took me a lot of tries, it's mere luck that gets you through that level extually

Netmonster... you're an idiot. I have a small basketball in my hand. When I throw it and it hits the ceiling... IT KEEPS TRAVELING IN THE DIRECTION I THREW IT. Ya know what? All balls do that. Except maybe footballs.

My issue with the controls is that they scale badly, exponentionally. From slowass movement to sudden uber speed bouncing all over the place in less than a second. Controls themself make sense, its just that they could use a better slow -> fast progression.

For Huzzah:
Newtons first law states that a body will remain in it's current state of motion or rest unless a non-zero net force is applied to it.

Isn't Newton's First Law of Motion the one about inertia? When the nail pops the bubble, wouldn't the guy be impaled on it?
The controls ARE a little irritating, but they're consistent in my experience so far. They just take some getting used to. 4/5

A brilliant experiment. Could use some refining, but still an excellent idea. 5/5. To those complaining about the controls, remember that you're not controlling the ball directly.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
the control is a bit messed, but thats what makes it a puzzle game i guess, since if it wasnt like that it would be really easy

People complaining on the physics: The physics are actually very accurate. They're just too accurate for comfort. In real life, you can't control your movement mid-air. In real life, if a rapidly spinning ball hits a ceiling, friction will lead it toward the opposite direction from where it was going on the ground. I've beaten 14 levels so far, and I think it's a great game. I'm giving it 5 stars.

quite good game but a little too easy.kinda boring after a while.
those complaining bout controls: go play some billiard and learn how to control a ball.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i think the physics are too realistic for you too understand, Nightsway is right, you're a guy inside a bal, not a ball that magically start moving, you can only move if you are in flor, coaus your movement is based on the ball's rotation, i dont see any problem with it, it's a little repetitive but good game anyway
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
To everyone commenting on physics: You control the thing inside the ball, and not the ball itself!- The physics are different to other games because not many other games work with this principle. In short: The physics are accurate, they're not meant to be easily controlled.

k, stuck at lvl 49, it sucks. The game itself, well, it's bad rating can be explained cause of the physical propertys of the bubble sorrounding the player, after a short time, all those random bounces etc. don't seem random at all, they are cause of the remaining rotation after the jump, and the friction on contact. Rethink your rating after you get used to the game, it's just a different concept, one that works.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How come when you're going down a ramp your jump is rubbish? The Zepplin level was horrible and the pysics are claptrap so 2/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
ugh i stopped after lvl 30 cuzz it was getting really repetitive and it was pissing me off 4/5 because of bad controls but its good overall
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Oh well finished already, I'd give 2/5 - The physics of this game are just awful , for example take level 50, I don't really know about physics, but I know enough to know that is NOT what supposed to heppen when I hit the ceiling :s.
Anyway, good idea, good concept, the movement is not that bad but only 2/5 for me.

A good examble of great graphics, combined with shotty actionscripting. Like many said before, this game has quite bad control and physics, and instead of addicting you, it drives you on the verge of insanity. 2/5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
it is very hard to control the characters movement so much that i find myself moveing right when im holding left, which utterly ruins the game.
