You can go backwards (down) from the beginning and start the game from the end(?) of the puzzle. It gives you the achievement "clever" and makes the boxes shoot two bullets.

(Spoiler) To kill the boss: Its left and right sides are open, so when you're not in danger of it coming after you (it's going up and down a lot) stand in the middle of a horizontal hallway and spam space. This will shoot bullets in the chink of its armor (where there are no spikes). Do this a bunch and you'll win.

I like how you can go backwards far enough to reach the "you won!" screen and even the final boss. Blew my mind a bit.

This game has a hard mode: Go down instead of up on the first screen. It takes like 30 seconds, but you go backwards to the game over screen. If you go back to the boss, then it gives you the clever acheivement and ramps up the game. The boss goes faster, the spin blocks now double up on bullets, and the array of bullets now fire faster. The score is even doubled and the song is played backwards. Try it!

For those who don't know, the game is based off a fractal. That is where if you keep going inward forever, the shape keeps repeating. Very unique game and I barley survived (1/4 of a live left).
Note: I didn't take the shortcut, I went inward.

Wow, I remember playing this game years ago, and its still a great, easy game with neat mechanics such as the infinite looping by shrinking so much you end up large and at the beginning again, or going backwards and reaching the end of the game that way. To bad that high scores aren't saved, but still 5/5 stars.

It would be really nice if you gave an invincibility period following being hit my a projectile. Otherwise concept was decent and gameplay was decent 3/5

Go Forward, Get The Gun(1st achievement) Then Go Back To The Title Screen, Then KEEP GOING BACKWARDS. So you have reached the boss with full lives. He can only be hurt in the gaps on his sides. once you have beaten him(2nd achievement) you go up, and start the maze from the end. You are now semi-invincible and will find it easier to get the coins(achievement 3.)

If you keep zooming out in the menu you will see the win room and if you zoom out more then you will be in the boss without a gun which makes it impossible to beat him (unless you actually kept a gun and then do the zoom out)

Very cool idea but these 48-hour games always have gameplay issues due to insufficient testing. Here, it's the shooting mechanism: having to move towards something to shoot it increases the closing speed of the bad guy's bullets so you have to run into the stream of bullets, run towards them, fire off a single shot and duck out again. This gets very tedious, very quickly, when enemies need several shots to destroy.

Tip for beating the game: First get the gun. Then you go backwards from the beginning to the final boss and beat it by shoting it with the gun on the non-spikey sides ;)

PROFIT: at beginning go to take the gun, then come back to spawn. Here, you have to go far from the entrance of the level. Go far and far, until you go in the BOSS's zone. I've finished the game in 5 minutes or less.

This game is so ingenious and creative! And I love the little attention to detail with how your character is always the color of the layer you're currently in. Amazing game!

Its not perfect and it gets a bit arduous near the end but it flows flawlessly and its a damn fun and unique challenge and that's all you can ask for 5/5

Lol. Found a way to kill the end Boss without walking through the labyrinth, without killing one other enemy and (possibly) without taking damage. Enter the labyrinth and obtain the gun. Then leave the labyrinth and go back where you came from. Then go down. After a while you'll reach the finish screen and you can enter the boss room. Kill him and you are the winner. After that you can kill the other enemys from the inside to the outside while some enemys are different.

The whole "maze within a maze within a maze within a maze within a.." is a cool and unique concept.. I just wish I wouldn't get lost so very easily x_X

The game is a closed loop- if you keep going "out" for about 15 seconds, you'll arrive at the results page; go out from there and you'll find yourself in the boss room!
