Dear January,
I am currently hunting down those bastards that is rating Looming 1-4/5. I wish I am back home, full of your love, but those idiots really get on my nerves...
Yours, September.

3/5. Decent game, I get the concept, but far too tedious. I felt compelled to finish, but it was more in a "Grah!! how the HECK do I get this last one!?!?" way, as opposed to the good "Gee, I wonder what the next one will be." Way.

I think all that has needed to be said about this game has already been said above... and I agree with all of it. Very deep and thoughtful and all together a genius piece of work. 5/5

@Piros12, I got the far right dot on the title screen but am missing the far left. Maybe instead of whining, we can collaborate to figure it out. Which is what old school gamers used to do to find out how to completely beat a game. (Not every one knew there was a warp spot in Level 4-2 of Super Mario Bros., right? You learned it from talking to other gamers.)

Deep atmosphere & background supported by a basic gameplay ; a very nice feeling of completion at the end of the game. 5/5

Remebering what will happen in the future, searching messages of brilliant but stupid engineers and bright but incompetent researchers that aren't there anymore, or will leave in the future, because they tryed to catch a skelleton that will writes signposts, waiting for an amphi.. what even is that thing?!... I finaly desided to spend my time chasing birds. 5/5 Stars, and maybe 20% of my common sense xD

1) If you are looking for a beginning, you will find the first signpost here: ˙ɥʇɹou dn ʞlɐʍ ʇuıod sıɥʇ ɯoɹɟ ˙ɐǝɹɐ ʎɥɔʇɐd 'punoɹ ɐ ɥɔɐǝɹ noʎ llıʇ ʇsɐǝ oƃ uǝɥʇ '(ssoɹɔ ɐ ǝʞıl sʞool ʇɐɥʇ ɹɐllıd ǝɥʇ ɥʇıʍ) ɥʇɐd ǝɥʇ ɟo puǝ ǝɥʇ ɥɔɐǝɹ noʎ llıʇ ɥʇɹou oƃ 'ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ ɟo ƃuıuuıƃǝq ǝɥʇ ɯoɹɟ
2) I suggest “geography”, or maybe only “topography” be a number VII path ring…
3) I seriously think this game should be badged!

I like how the Seecha are like machines - they are masters of mechanisms without understanding and count in binary. The Lorem are like people - they know science, but they can't implement things at the speed of a machine. Still working on ending 7.

I love the ambience, the music and the mystery. I love the story the game tantalisingly evokes.
Unfortunately, after a while it turned into a pixel hunt. I eventually found all the artefacts, but don't know if I got all the signposts - didn't find a portal. Also never managed to get the spotlights aligned as the corners suggest - at least, nothing happened when I tried. So I got 7 out of 9 portals, I think, and sadly don't know if there is any final ending...

I liked Majesty of Color, I liked ho to raise a dragon. This I don't like. you don't think, you find the dots on the ground then you find the different exits.

I wish it had a map of some kind, give me some idea of where I am or where I need to go again once I find a spot...and then try and return to that spot. Cause it is very easy to get lost it seems and not find your way. Outside of that I love it. 4/5 for now...5/5 if there is any kind of simple map add.

Play this game only if you are dedicated to see it through the finish. (Might take an hour) If you don't, you'll leave unsatisfied.

I would like to say that this is the best flash game I've ever played, but I can't. It a bit too spread out. Also, the tablet puzzle was definitely the most difficult for me. There's no indication that the puzzle revolves around the light posts. It's a bit frustrating finding the last 2-3 pieces, and November takes too long to move around. I DO enjoy the perspectives of the two societies, which can be applied to most pairs of groups in the world. The messages it gives are great (not going to spoil them for the people reading the comments). Over all, for the people who made comments such as "gay" or 'sux", I feel sorry for you, because you cannot play something for 30 minutes without given a goal and be walked there step by step.

It would be nice to have a map that only shows where you have gone, like your character is drawing it as he is going along, with the locations of everything you've found but not what you've missed. That would make this game a 6/5 for me.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I normally like artsy stuff, however, this is a prime example of taking it too far.
finding slightly larger dots in a field of dots, with no map, is hellish. The fact that the buried signposts are only activatable if you're next to them is awful.... Even if this had the ebst story ever, it's simply too fustrating to pixel hunt. Saying it adds to the atmosphere makes no sense, it simply prolongs the game, and adds fustration.

I'll start with the most daunting part of the game, the artifact finding. Now, everyone seems to think that these HIDDEN artifacts of lost civilizations and dying prophetic monsters should be easy to find. Which is entirely illogical. In such a stark environment, where little but the forsaken ruins and desolate environments capped and decorated with foreboding and thought-provoking half-kept architecture, little to nothing would be easily discoverable. In fact, this is considerably easier to do than if one were in such an environment. Plus, as Greg mentions in his notes: "The world in Looming is designed to lead the player to important locations; I did my best to add rough patches or faded paths that guide the eye towards places where items can be found. With the exception of the secret signposts at the corners of the world, every collectible object should be near a landmark and tied to a main path by these little scenery hints."

i got everything, think im supposed to find portals for each set of artifacts and go in each one, once ive done that i think the game ends. Problem is, i cant find all the portals and i dont want to wander the familiar spaces for hours only looking for them to not find anything. Getting just the usual "oh hey ive been here before, lets take a really long walk in a different direction"

Gregory, you suck. Every time you make a game I have to play it to 100% completion. This was no exception. Loved it, 5/5, favorited, making adult videos of it.

Another excellent Title Greg! I'm impressed yet again by your ability to create compelling stories and to deliver them in creative and interesting ways. Looming was particularly excellent in my mind because of the rich mythology; Two races of people, living in a harsh land of mysteries; An ancient creature of unknown origin or intent who knows the date of his own death; mysterious epiphany, the substance which falls from the sky and brings with it visions of time gone by and yet to come. You continue to make the freelance game community a richer and more storied place, again, Top-notch!

Good Game.. very original (as at least me... haven't played anything like it) but it could be a little more playable... as i think there should exist a map where the areas shown are those you've gone through ... this way we wouldnt lose time lost and wandering!! my humble opinion nothing else 4/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Truly a beautiful game. I love it for its sheer perplexing nature. I also loved how, when you couldn't solve a puzzle, there were others you could try while it turned over in the back of your mind (I hate sequential puzzles). 5/5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The game was pretty interesting, and definitely a new sort of experience for me. However, reading the notes was actually more fun than the game itself, I think, unless at that point I was just in a happier state from finishing the game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I am stuck, I have exactly one thing (4th bone) left to find in the giant map, talk about finding a needle in a hay stack.....
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
my gosh yes i agree with that man who wrote the other comment. this game NEEDS a mini map (i think one that only shows places youve been is better so as not to ruin the exploreyness)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
sorry i just don't belive this is such a great game, sure i love the idea of finding clues and "investigate" in some way, what happened
but all i see is a game with low content, that makes u navigate trough a huge map finding tiny marbles.
there's nothing special with the storyline, and i don't belive it's THAT original....
don't get me wrong it's a good game and im sure the artist put a lot of efforth into it, that's why im giving it a 3/5
PD: excuse my lame english ^^

If you click the newgrounds logo, it freezes the games and pulls up that menu like flixel ngine games do. Problem is, when you try to click on the game to put it in focus, it just takes you to newgrounds again. Might want to look at that.

What a game. You get hooked from the beginning when you come back after using the first portal and finding out about 8 more. Great game, shame about the wlking speed to get to the four hidden signposts faster would've been nice. Seech are better than Lorem!!!

So the second ending was the last one i got after getting everything else. Getting it consisted of me chasing birds around for 2 minutes with yakkety sax playing in my head.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I think that one of the seemingly easy endings (number 2) is one that a lot of people (including myself) skipped over. The get ending two, stay in Looming for one minute or more then leave through the portal that you started next to.

I love it. But it is nearly impossible to find all the pieces. I've been playing for some time now and have all but one diagram piece. It is a little disheartening to come this far and not know what happens. 5/5 for a fantastic game, but minus some awesome points for me not wanting to keep playing after 3 hours.

Very Intriguing game, I loved it. I loved the mystery/puzzle/exploration concept along with unfolding the story behind the game.
Last ending!: seriously needs a hint somewhere to look in the 4 corners!!!! I spent over 1 1/2 hours looking for some clue, finally looked here in the comments :(
