I love getting to the end, and seeing such a simple level design and thinking, "Wow! I can't believe it was so hard to navigate that!"
For me it's more fun to explore a story than be told a story, so I left it a bit ambiguous. Sorry it didn't ring true with you but I'm glad you enjoyed the rest of the game.
I feel if there were too many more levels the mechanic would be a bit stale by the end. It's a tad on the short side but pretty easy to digest. Thanks for playing.

the puzzle element was fun and creative, but the poetry on the bottom didn't make much sense and the overall "art game" feel seemed kind of unnecessary.

Up, and down, toss it around. If you have seen Doctor Who, I am sure this falls under wibbly wobbly, timey wimey etc.

judging by the comments in the list, the dev def cares about what he put out. I used to reply to everything when I released things. We'll see what happens when I release my first game in a few weeks.
If people are going to take time out of their days to comment then I'm damn sure going to respond. Good luck with your game, send me a message on FGL if you want some early feedback.

A pause/Menu/Level Select game would be awesome. I was already in the extra levels, had to reboot and... Start all over again? Not good... :-(

Hey, Escher, when did you get into making Flash games? But seriously, this is a brilliant piece of work. The puzzles are challenging, but not frustrating, and between the brilliant poetry and haunting voice acting, it gives it an additional creepy edge that, when combined with the broken aesthetic of the world design, makes it very effective in conveying emotion. The poetry accompanying the game is absolutely delightful, and I could easily reach the cap just complimenting it, but suffice it to say that it suits the game perfectly. Overall, an easy 5/5

GREAT game! My only recommendation is to add a "next level" button, as I believe many would like to see the completed level for a little longer.

Very fun game. Not too crazy difficult, but just difficult enough with a great concept and messing with people's heads to figure out the solution.

For anyone that is interested in knowing the poem without having to replay the game, here it is. I hope and pray that I will find
The child that I have left behind
For as I hear the madness gloat
A frightened scream rips from my throat
A child's love, with blind ambition
Against my panicked admonition
Into the heart of evil's lair
I battle on, without despair
And search and wander as I might
I see no ending to my plight
There is no point in searching more
For I'm the one he's searching for
Thank you developer GROZZLER for the awesome game.

Great refreshing new mechanic for a platformer! The only thing that bugged me a bit is that it seems that you recorded the poem in individual sound files, one for each level, rather than recording it all in one go and splitting it from there. The poem loses the flow it should have, and thus, a lot of the beauty of the rhythm and sound of the poem is lost. Even if it's done deliberately as part of the Fractured metaphor, I submit that the game loses little by redoing the recording for those lines of poetry, but gains so much beauty.
They were indeed done as separate takes. I really like how disjointed it becomes. Every line has its own little inflection and meaning completely different from the last. I'm glad you picked up on that; very keen.

A very good game : pretty cool and original game mechanic that allows you to make some very complicated puzzles, waht you have exploited very well. Moreover, this game has a nice and sobering storyline (so sad) and good music. Unfortunately, this game is too short !! I hope there will be a sequel !
Congratulation !
Thank you very much. It's a tad on the short side but I personally think expanding it too much wold drag it on too much. 18 levels feels just right to me. Thanks for playing.

Also (sorry for double post), my compliments to the voice actress. Oh, and just one suggestion, level select would be nice, there was a level I wanted to replay, but I had to go through most of the game to get to it again (not that it's a hassle or anything).
I'll send your compliments to Emily, she did a great job. Sorry about the lack of level select - definitely too late to add one now - but I didn't want to break the pacing of the narrative.

Adorable! It's so amazing how once again a total new concept can come out so succesful, so creative. I read all the comments and agree with almost all of them. It always bothers me when there is no save function, but I finished the game all at once so I didn't even noticed :D Thank you for such a nice game!

Good puzzle concept. I have one complaint, and that is towards the story. I had a hard time remembering all of the text for the story because I was thinking about the puzzle too much. If you had all of the story text available after the game is beaten, I would give 5/5.

could you add a way to hear the entire song/poem instead of only getting a single line at a time? maybe as an award for beating the story or bonus levels?

So what exactly is the mom doing while the kid is lost? Sitting home eating cake? Social Services should of show up around level 5

Such a great game! It's spatial reasoning aspect made it a nice refreshing change to the average platform game. The story fragments were a real clever addition and made the title "Fractured" even more validated and added a sort of reward for solving the puzzle. The story was short, yet held such emotion! One of my favorite games! 5/5

Fantastic original idea. I love the gameplay, especially the sideways and upside down levels. Wish there was more of those. Maybe add some more to the bonus levels at the end. +10 for innovation

great game and fantastic concept. 5/5. but as someone said earlier, please put the story text at the end of the game cause i really cant remember a word after finishing the game. and if am not mistaken, we were promised the end of the story in the bonus lvls, but nothing happened!!. i enjoyed the game and hope to c more from u soon.

I really enjoy this game. It is so simple, yet the execution of the screen's split areas gives the game a sort of understandable complexity... This game is the most Innovative thing since Jean pants. This game deserves 10,104/10

This was a great game. I can't believe how simple the areas look after i have completed them and the 'shards' go back in place! I'm only a casual player but i love puzzles! Progressing through levels were paced well. Never felt overly frustrated at any point but never felt like ti was too easy. Sequel?
